If someone bid 1$ for all of those coins that alone is 50k "in bids"

Like secondmarket would even accept such a ridiculous bid. I think most of the bids are not far of the market price, maybe -20% max.

Secondmarket have for now 134K coin. 127K more buys would double their BTC stock  Tongue

Even 20% below the price it's almost $40M

Ok, how many people here understand that you can't buy 127K BTC at an auction selling 50K BTC?

 Roll Eyes
Of course they can't buy 127k. But the demand is there. There are people willing to buy for 127K btc

What does your bolded text mean?

Just comparing the demand and the amount of BTC bought until now. I agree these 127k do not exist yet.

trainz already? I guess it is a good time to be more convinced of the prevailing bull market. That last bear attempt was very weak.

edit: but it is almost the weekend now Sad

Bidding closed for US Marshals #Bitcoin auction.  Pantera placed bids below the market.  Results out tomorrow by 2pm PST.  Probably earlier.

I wonder why they would tweet this. If Pantera does get the bitcoins, this tweet would hurt them. The bitcoin price is likely to take a dive as a panic reaction.

Why do I have the feeling that the next tweet is going to be: "Pantera did not get any coins". You can guess the outcome.

Actually, English language skills aren't her weak suit. Logic is.

I agree though that people should just stop quoting this dingbat.

Things seem much less confused around here since I finally put her on ignore. We don't need to be reminded with quotations of her scatterbrained ineptitude.

True but at least Pantera aren't going to dump it on the market. The biggest worry for everyone is an unknown winning a lot of or all of the coins. If a group such as Pantera won even if they say they paid lower than market price the market is unlikely to have too much of an adverse reaction.

Auctions IMO generally end under a common market price, the fact we have large institutional investors bidding over each other to hodl bitcoins amazes me, that and anyone who thinks this would be bearish.
