I'm still hopeful for this coin. Anyway, it was an airdrop, so nothing lost. Patience is key.

Technically not an airdrop as the economic fork of Spreadcoin was done sometime first week of August 2017.

Make sure to read the FAQ on the (unofficial) heliumlabs.org website. The community also cross posts Team announcements there so you don't need to dig in Slack. Link to the mailing list can also be found there.

To cut a long story short: it seems priorities and goals shifted a couple of times in the 9 months since the OP was posted. From what I gather personally: the HLM team wants to come out guns blazing with a working product and real-life partnerships and use cases from day 1, rather than launch the chain and start looking for partnerships and application afterwards. This is the best way to go IMO if you want to develop a product that suits the needs of the industry you are targeting. It also means that launch has been pushed back from Q4 2017 to a (preliminary) Q1 2018 and deadlines were missed. This sucks if you want to get rid of your airdropped HLM tokens ASAP but it is good news if you were in this for the long run anyways.

You'll want to keep tabs on this one. Even though it may take a bit longer to release I think the wait will be worth it. There's more development resources being thrown at it now and they're working with some corporate partners on the service nodes. Most of what you'll find in bct is hundreds of pages of nutz, but that's what we come here for. We're all a little nutty and a little risky, but love this stuff.

Good day Helium faithful,

While Bitcointalk is not the preferred platform of communication we still monitor this space as it is a major wateringhole for the industry and will be for some time. The project is most certainly alive and well with many positive developments taking shape in the form of business partnerships and some higher level discussions on ensuring the launch of the network aligns well with the upcoming DASH release in late March / early April. As we are a DASH fork there is much to consider on this front in terms of code refactoring and resource requirements allotted to support this while also ensuring all aspects of the launch itself are handled properly.

The delay can be frustrating and I myself have a healthy amount of funds invested and well over a year of my life working on the project, so I can relate from this perspective. We are adding more talent to the project on the infrastructure / Helium Alliance perspective and I greatly look forward to when I am able to give full transparency on this front given how patient the community has been.

The very best resource for information on project Helium will be found in our slack, which can be accessed here:

Thanks for posting, @KarmaShart. However, we are neither faithful nor patient at this point, we (or better: our coins) are simply held hostage by you. And it's not so much the delay that is frustrating, it's the complete lack of any substantial updates.

- what tasks are you working on
- how many devs are actually working
- is there any members to the Helium Alliance except the team
- does aligning with a DASH fork in April mean we'll see a release in May at the earliest

Answers to this would hurt none of your NDA's or endanger the project in any way. Simply withdrawing from BCT because people get angry is the surest way to make the situation worse - I'd rather not unload on you in Slack, so I realistically cannot join there.

I am a developer in agile projects and you are violating the rules of agile development in the worst way possible - going radio silent, not checking in with customer's needs, hiding WiP, not showing PoC's and prototypes.

thank you very much for giving an update here in BCT!! I'm pretty much worried about the status of this project as I risked getting dumped a lot for holding spr during the airdrop phase. I also checked in slack and there have been a lot of frustrated users for the lack of communication, but hopefully the project carries on as stated.
