UnionCoin was a cryptocurrency of 2013.
However I do not know the American laws but Tor Coin would not be another brand, of course without the visual identity of the onion.

Why is this advertised so much even on google, who pays for the adverts?
I would really think the money to be paid for that advertising campaign would be from the team and from the premine tor coins. I think he will not soon be making bounties.

Its coming from the guy that paid me to make Torcoin, he is the one funding the advertising and the bounties. He will have to stop those advertisements soon, I don't believe he is around right now, but I can no longer continue developing "Torcoin" as per The Tor Project stating that we cannot use the name, it will be rebranded to the name that gets voted on enough here. |

hey folks,
Some of you will be happy to know that Carsen is stepping down as lead developer - which means TorCoin is looking for a new dev to take this coin to the next level!
I have some people in mind already, but I'm also willing to hire a Dev that is recommended and approved by Bitcointalk users to avoid all the trollish comments in the future about the dev.
In other words, who do you guys WANT to be lead dev for this coin? I am all ears.
I will stake the new dev with 25k TOR but they have to be absolutely 100% qualified for the project.
Also, note that Carsen does still own 160k TOR from the initial mine but he is not likely to sell it anytime soon, and even if he does sell it, just boosts the market cap of the coin anyway - which is a good thing.
As you can see from my wallet, I still have not sold a single TOR!
So, I am taking all suggestions for a new dev and new features for the coin!
Big things ahead folks!

Okay so The Tor Project is not on board, just got an email back from the Executive Director. We will be changing the name and ticker.
I will be rolling out an update this weekend or as late as Monday to the name change. So far Paradox (PDX) is the winner.
hey guys, Carsen is gone from TorCoin (still has his 160k TOR though of course) The Executive Director of the TOR Project can kiss my ass. The name stays, no matter what. I been around the block more than a few times, and they can send me as many C&D notices as they want. The name stays, period. TorCoin is not going anywhere, trust me on that! |

I have no choice but to step down as a dev and leave the Torcoin project. I am sorry guys but I cannot be legally responsible for this coin or have my name behind it anymore..This is out of respect to the Tor Project. Im not going to be held responsible for this coins name not being changed, when I was asked to do so. So I am removing my Github and I am out. If you guys care about me redeeming my name or want to follow a project that will not have any conflicts, keep your eyes open, because I will be announcing a new coin here soon!  I totally understand if there is hate towards me, but I am getting it from both ends right now, Tor Project wants this project abolished, the guy behind it essentially let me go just now, and I just can't be apart of it. thetorcoin is now solely responsible for this project, I have no affiliation whatsoever. |

Isn't TOR open source as well? Keep the onion. Use a different onion logo if needed. Your coin is operating over TOR. Also report the post to the EFF (Electronic Frontier Foundation): https://www.eff.org In the spirit of Internet freedom the TOR project should be supporting YOU! Also, remind the people over at the TOR project that all of the human rights activists they are trying to keep alive in repressive countries may actually need a a virtual currency that operates over TOR in order to survive! Don't worry! Carsen helped write the code, but he's not the man behind TorCoin - as I said all along! TorCoin is NEVER GOING TO CHANGE ITS NAME, PERIOD. Or its logo. Or anything else! Looking for a new dev now with thick skin. I'll stake the dev with 25k TOR. I'd like to get a dev who has a good rep and is approved by folks here ... open to suggestions! |

I doubt he's dumping his coins, the coin is utterly undervalued right now.
And as you see from my wallets, I haven't sold a single TOR
He's just afraid of getting sued, so he doesn't want to be associated with the coin anymore.
Fair enough.
I could care less about getting sued. If they knew who I was, they would not even bother trying lol
I am totally 100% lawsuit bulletproof. And I don't give a fuck.
I'm here for the longterm viability of TORCOIN
PERIOD!
I'm incredibly passionate about this coin and project!
