Yeah ignore it because you have no way to rebut it. Meanwhile the price is gradually heading to 1 satoshi as you try to slowly sell your premined tors without making it too obvious.

Hi everyone,
It is my first message on this forum even if I am not really new to the altcoin world.
Thetorcoin, I would like to tell you that I was really enthusiastic about this coin (I think it had a great potential for many reasons) but with all the polemic about the potential 'scam' it could be, this evening, I have sold all the TorCoin I had.
If I have sold all my coins, it is not because they could be right about the 'scam' (in my mind, since the beginning it was clear that was a possibility as for all new coins) but because the answers you gave to the accusation were really not reassuring and without the trust of the public, as for any coin, this coin will not rise.
You should really work on the transparency of this project.
Good luck

You guys do realize that the founder could've set this thread up as self moderated if he wanted to but instead allowed all of your dumbass comments to be posted because he cares about free speech.

Most other coins wouldn't allow you to shit on the thread like this; they'd just delete your posts.

I would say these are relevant questions, waiting for a good answer from thetorcoin.

you can use https://torcoinfaucet.com
https://torcoinfaucet.com/paper
https://torcoin.org/paperwallet/

also it is recommended you download the full paper wallet generator to your own computer and run it locally.
both sites point to https://github.com/TorCoinProject/TorCoin-Wallet-Generator/archive/master.zip for the download.

Thank you Ashdad for your thoughts. Will think about them...

Meanwhile, I would be happy if someone could clarify, please: When I'm running a Torcoin Wallet, am I also automatically running a Tor node, thus helping the Tor network? I'm interested in any insights...

Yes if you are running on this branch here >> https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/tor
Thanks for clarification! I think running a Tor node is this coin's greatest strength. It's what separates Torcoin from other coins offering anonymity, I think.

I don't see any problem with the name, by the way. The representatives of Tor Project even admitted in a tweet, that Torcoin helps the Tor Network by creating nodes. They have no reason to fight against it.

I see some justified criticism also. Every new open-source project should be criticized thoroughly, that's how stuff evolves. When a critic has the motivation of helping and offering insight, I appreciate it. But sometimes when someone presents themselves with the style of "haha, your investment will be worth 1 satoshi and I will be here to laugh at you", then this kind of background noise should be ignored.

Didn't you read the above messages? this dev seems have no idea how to set up TOR network for the coin, otherwise he would have provided the onion addresses...

or you are just one of his clones, another newbie, lol

What's all this FUD about Tor integration?

It is 100% finished and has been for a long time.  Check the "tor" branch on the github >>

https://github.com/TorCoinProject/torcoin/tree/tor

I haven't merged it with the master branch yet so that people have the option to use Tor or not. Tor may be illegal in some jurisdictions so I figured it is better to let people choose.

Are you dumb? do you know how tor works? Even you have tor in the code but do not set up the tor nodes to connect to, what's the point of it? Where are your tor nodes? post their onion addresses ...

and I love how you pretended this message doesn't exist

Valley365 on page 43 explained you why Torcoin still doesn't run as a Tor node. Interestingly the DEV avoided to respond to him despite me reffering to it again and again. It's like he can't see it for some weird reason  Shocked. As a reminder, let me quote his post AGAIN:

Quote
Are you dumb? do you know how tor works? Even you have tor in the code but do not set up the tor nodes to connect to, what's the point of it? Where are your tor nodes? post their onion addresses ...

As for this:

Quote
I don't see any problem with the name, by the way.

I clearly explained why the name and the stolen logo can be a huge problem but nobody counteracted my arguments. DEV just called it FUD and his arguments were essentially wishful thinking. Let me quote myself:

Quote
Still, you are not answering the essence of my post and evading my main argument. You piggyback on the Tor's fame & name and also hold a huge premine for personal profit. And up to this moment you also use their logo. More than enough for legal action, and you stand no chance. And even if you can avoid legal action because you live in some country where U.S. law has no hold, as I said all that is needed to do is for them to threaten the exchanges. No exchanges, nobody will use your scammy coin.

If people are stupid they will buy your coin. A simultaneous DMCA to all exchanges is more than enough to make their bag's value = 0

P.S: And like you, the coinye guys thought all they had to do was change the logo. And they did. And still got their ass served

Furthermore, dev was stupid enough to say that the demise of of coineye was that the were using a stolen logo. Which is exactly what Torcoin currently does. DEV is obviously a unique kind of stupid

And last but not least.

You do understand that here in bitcointalk a moderated thread from a new user who creates a new coin is the hugest red flag that screams "scam"? If he had started a moderated thread everybody would have pointed that red flag (along with the current ones) and nobody would trust the project enough to invest. So that's why this thread is open. Or maybe he is just stupid and forgot about it.

To be fair, I am not sure he is stupid. He probably isn't. He is definitely a scammer though

I'll give him some credit though. He has toned down his attitude a bit since the beginning. When this thread first started he was all about talking about how rich he is and that he was 100% safe from lawsuits. His "I'm better than you" attitude was a complete turn off for me. I think maybe he has gotten a taste for just how much work is involved in pushing a coin, and hopefully he has been humbled a bit.

Still, if you look at one of his wallets on the blockchain explorer we see the 100,000 TOR that, I guess, the original dev "gave" him, but then that 100,000 left his wallet soon after. OP, where did the 100,000 go? You said you wouldn't dump any coins until the price hits $20, so I'm hoping that was a deposit to a faucet or something.

it seems this project is not working well. it needs more functions integrated to this wallet.
so it can become more attractive to investors.

Yes! http://torcoin.org/paperwallet/

Why the paper wallet AND the faucet running on unsecured websites? HTTPS please. Why would you put a paper wallet that generates private keys on an unsecured site? Are you 12 years old?

the faucet has https if you want it. The link from the torcoin.org website links to the secure faucet.

https://torcoinfaucet.com

If you're uncomfortable using it then don't get your free coin.

As for the paper wallet, who in their right mind would print out a paper wallet on a webpage, secure or otherwise? Read the first step of the paper wallet - download it and run it on your own computer. I assume people even younger than 12 can follow those directions.
