The block, an obstacle in the path of the weak, became a stepping-stone in the path of the strong.

It's always been a small reward for small miners. It's approximately equal to the minimum payout threshold for the pool so if you were always below threshold, it would start putting you into the next payouts list.

I've been tempted to increase it but if I increase it too much that would start biasing towards the biggest miner, taking away from everyone else and we only really have one very big miner.

As one of the small(est) miners, I certainly get it! Thanks for explaining.

I try to walk the line of annoyingly enjoyable.

I'm just now ramping up again. It was over 95F in Portland today and not working from home means garage closed, so I powered down till now. Looks like we're still hunting for a block though.

I can't remember if you said before, but are you in a neighborhood or more out by yourself?   I had one going at home for awhile and I could hear it across the street (but it just sounded like someone was vacuuming or using a hair dryer 24/7)

LOL I'm in PDX too. The heat in the garage has been high, but my new S9is have been running at 80c tops during the day. I have 2 exhaust fans in the wall behind the miners. Hopefully, today it will be cooler for my sake, the miners don't mind the heat apparently. Wink

It may be a little cooler tonight but overall going to be warm through next weekend!   Keep your miners cool, should be easier to cool the air at night, just have to worry from about 11am to 7pm.

I live off a busy road in the city. Can't hear anything with the garage closed up. I have sound dampening panels reducing noise fairly well, 40 ft and it's barely noticeable if the garage is open. Just hot this weekend and my exhaust removal is weaker now since the addition of the s9i a little bit ago. I'll have to see about an upgrade for the unit I have in the ceiling, add, or replace for more CFM removal then I wont have worry on days this warm or warmer.

Nice, yes I can run these pretty hot to but if I'm in office I can't power down or leave to easily. I'll have to look at getting a switch PDU but would rather just get the exhaust setup for a few more additions anyway.

Yea, I'll be home to monitor temps the next couple days. 90F doesn't worry me but Sunday is supposed to be hot! Got to keep hashing. I think I powered down about 9am back up at 11pm but then I worked really late. Got me pushing some easy orders through lately, even though I work best in the evening with a beer though. Business seems good, we might bonus and then I'll update exhaust for sure.

I have some very tall douglas firs shading my house from across the street. My hottest time of the day, for mining, is between 330PM and 530PM. This is when the sun shines directly on my garage door. I almost had to shut down the avalon miners yesterday. By the way, what nut case ever thought it was a good idea to design a bitcoin miner with one fan?

One that expected it to be run in a proper environment and not in your oversized oven?  Tongue

If you have to ask "why?", you wouldn`t understand my answer.

That fresh out the sun feeling? Not desired in this scenario.

I'm insured but I don't need the inconvenience of my house during down for a few hours of hashing.

Going to add a couple of these is the plan. No more NW attic mold for sure.

Because it's mining. The T1s don't mine without asicboost.
