I think maybe this is related to a windows update or something Huh

EDIT : a deep deep multiple uninstall of drivers finally fixed the trouble , but weird this happened in the same time on my two windows 10 rigs.

if you go to the win10 update settings page you can pull a list of the dates win10 installed updates, see if they correspond to the dates you had the problems.

this is one reason why i mine on win7. i tell it to monitor for but not install updates till i can review them.

yeah  of 7 gpu rigs

3 = smOS
3 = windows 7

1 = win 10  and this need 3x the software maintenance to keep mining

Win 10 is interesting for big rigs, and provide better hashrate than SMos.

I'm 50/50 SMos and win10

A 3rd rigs did the same thing , and another rig I built today did it too after 30 min working.

That's crazy.

Nobody has the problem ??

I got 6 RX 470 on smOS but it just because i'm too lazy to stop one rig to clone my win 10 ssd Tongue (which i will do this week)

Anyhow smOS it great ! But I prefer win 10 for more hash.

I also run smOS with some old rx 270 and one rx280 on zec. (they are old used card with some issues but smOS allow me to reboot quite easily with the UI, the new ui is great)

Hi guys, anybody experiencing trouble with windows and error 43 in device manager today ?

I got all my cards with error 43 yesterday in a windows 10 rigs, and didn't manage to fix it after amd uninstall and driver reinstall.
This rigs worked well since 10 days.
Todays another windows 10 rigs is doing the same.

I think maybe this is related to a windows update or something Huh
I might be not the only one ?

EDIT : a deep deep multiple uninstall of drivers finally fixed the trouble , but weird this happened in the same time on my two windows 10 rigs.

There is a thread where some other person got the same issue. It's a win 10 update ...

The best way to fix as they said is to use the "rollback driver" option.

I think if you go under the device manager and right click one of the video card you should see that option. (this is the thread => https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1921225.0)

In WIN10 you can actually edit Update rules wia GPE or REGEDIT.
My win10 are fine and no unusual behaviour.
Win10 bigger hashrate somehow relates to DX12? i did not notice any difference in hashing on 1080ti's or 1070's ... is it really better on win10 ?

Does anyone know the most efficient card for ETH?

Would it be the 1070gtx?  (28mh/90 watts)

those changes work on some but not all win 10 os.

I have win 10 with a set of nvidias I got this to do the gpe or the regedit as explained on youtube but this is an enterprise version
I have win 10 with a small x11 usb miner and sidehack usb sticks for bitcoin.  this is on a lenevo win 10  and it is really a p.i.t.a.  to keep the updates out.

win 7 is far better for mining. 4 card rigs are easy peasy

Looking around and found these. Any of y'all tried either of these? Look pretty good. Little expensive though.

Yeah, this MFer absolutely killed me last 2 days!! probably spent better part of 4-5 hours fixing all 4 of my rigs after this POS w10/AMD driver update.  I had to run the GPU driver cleaner on all 4 rigs then reinstall Crimson 16.10.x on all 4, some had to do it multiple times because I guess i didn't have the auto updates all put off as much as possible. Simply a ridiculous situation but no choice for me since w7 is horrible trying to get 6-GPU to work.

So as a "rule", I have windows update turned off on my W7 boxes.  However, I'm all for keeping them reasonably up to date so they don't become hijacked, like Gaby mentioned.

Does anyone have a nice way to apply a "roll-up" update that contains "many" updates (Windows 7), rather than enabling windows update?

Can someone recommended settings for 1080ti?

I have a 6x 1080ti rig, each running 60% power limit, +250 core, -500 mem (mem oc or underclock, no hash difference).
Getting only about 600 sols and 4sol/w. 900w at the wall for about 3600 sols. Voltage is unchanged.

It seems low compared to gtc 1070 which can do 450sol at 60% power limit. Should I undervolt?

wow.... 6 x 1080ti is an incredible$ rig

Post some pictures will ya?

I know;  after seeing the hashrates out of just 5x 1080's, I can only imagine how the ti feels when you get the pools payout 3 times a day... lol.

and he must be constantly watching it...in case if it hangs hehe

Here are some pics: http://imgur.com/a/aSbIX

This 1080ti rig is unstable compared to my Rx 470/480 rigs. Tried EWBF, Nicehash, Miningpoolhub, they fail every 1 - 2 days. My main card also resets to 100% TDP occasionally. Not as hands free as I like it to be..

I would be interested to see if nvOC is stable with your build.  What mobo are you using?

Ok I have one of those, and that CPU.  I will make a specific image for it with newest changes and upload it tomorrow.  I have a 3x 1080ti Running, but I would like to see if a 6x can be stable; both with or without plusCPU.   Smiley

Do you have a fast 16gb or larger USB key?  I recommend using this one:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T61JM4E
