guys...

MSI-Gaming-M5... yet another 7 x PCI slot potential ideal mining mobo
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130873
<snipped>

and 3 x GIGABYTE AORUS GeForce® GTX 1080 Ti 11G

With all this juice

Skein or SIA or ZEC ?

I just bought one of these in the hopes that it can push 7 GPUs.  Thanks for the link!

if this is as good as the legendary MSI's 7-slot Gaming 5 older 1150-socket board... then I think we have a killer board here - a bit high end though... since you need DDR4 and 1151 CPU.

Talking about legendary z97 Gaming 5 , I have a little issue with it and maybe someone could help.

It is ETH mining only with claymore , and 7x rx470 and windows 10.
But no way to get DAG created for GPU one.
It's not GPU or riser related. I've changed both.
Every time I launch claymore, dag are created for n°1 to n°6 gpus but not for n°0
If I remove the gpu, I have 6 gpus plugged , and N°1 become n°0.
Well in that case, N°0 DAG is still not created and only 1 to 5 work , not the 0 one.

I don't know why , and don't what to try .

Any idea guys ?
At the moment I'm forced to plug a GPU in 0 slot and disable it with -di 123456 setting in claymore.. so Rig work fine but one GPU is not used..

I set virtual mem range : from 16k to 32k
This is a small SSD (60GO) but 32gb are available.
Could it be the issue ?

4gb DDR as in my every other RIGS

Didn't try another driver as this one always worked for me in many rigs.

The strange part is I can only have 5GPUs working instead of 6 , but the system seems not overloaded as I can do 6 working GPUs instead of 7.
(the first one , GPU0 never display DAG done, and show of course 0 hashrate)

Anyone ever get that itch to buy mining gear?
It's about to kill me waiting for vega!!!

I know what you mean, I've been waiting also to refresh all my rigs. Space/Power is limited for me so I have to go with full density all the way. If Vega doesn't turn out to be all that, then 1080's for all my rigs.

I had a chance earlier today to purchase multiple 1080's from newegg for only $369 each, but passed on that deal because Vega is sooo near!

the 1080 ti's do a lot of hashing.

I am at the point  that I will do the katana build
with four of them  and then have all  3 card 1080 ti rigs.  which are about 2000 sols for zec  at only 550watts at the k-watt-meter
I may do a 2 card 1080 ti with a katana as it will fit in the case and stay cool.

I don't know this MB, but my 1st thought would be to check the MB settings, specifically anything to do with a on board display adapter.

Thanks guys for your help

@64dimensions
Onboard display adapter is disabled on bios
+ I made a test with SMos instead of Win10 and all GPUs were recognisez. So it is a windows issue I think

@Aries
+1 for what ? you have a similar issue ??

Another RIG built on a similar small SSD 60gb is working fine with 7 GPUs , so I don't think it is a SSD size issue.
I'm open to any suggestions.

I have mined directly via major ZEC pools in the past and selling hash at Nicehash more often now...

Yes mining directly at major ZEC pools gives you at least 10-15% higher in converted coin value vs renting out GPU hash at Nicehash's Equihash marketplace...

BUT

1. ZEC pools have become so unreliable and slow in payments and confirmation - name me one good ZEC pool that doesnt struggle on getting and confirming blocks esp during network lags etc.

2. If you mine to exchange.... thats another layer of fees and other issues....

3. Nicehash gives me BTC upfront.... you sell they buy and pay BTC... their admin fees are a tad high though...

4. BTC value now is super good and eventually if you mine ETH, ZEC or XMR --- at some point you would convert to BTC or hard cash

5. No coin confirmation etc in Nicehash -- its a seller - buyer market place - so there is no waiting game

6. Sometimes, if not more often now.... buyers pay premium to rent from sellers, every day I see several spikes in rental profitability

7. While ZEC the coin is promising... its also a heavily sold coin.... just look back what happened end of last year after ZEC went POW

8. I foresee continued consistent selling behavior for this coin -- miners cashing out on ZEC will not help sustain this $200 plus dollars level so while all this good run of ZEC is good for the coin, I suspect its short term -- I hope I am wrong.... but meanwhile I will not complain and collect more BTCs from my GPU farms  Grin

@VyprBTC

Point your miner to this pool; stratum+tcp://equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357

Is it worth mining a coin as soon as it comes out?

Zencash is about to start in 6 hours after a fork from ZCL.

Whats the advantage of mining it straight away? very low difficulty ?

Have you considered this case?

It took some custom mounts to place the cards like that. The hottest one is in the middle at 65C.
Thanks for all your posts by the way. Very informative and helped me out choosing parts.

I've not had any problems with Flypool, been there for weeks and regular payments come through every few hours, straight to a Jaxx wallet. BTC transactions though have been VERY slow at times the past week ... one transaction took 3 days to confirm.

I would agree that consistent selling behavior will continue for ZEC ... mine ... sell ... mine ... sell, but hell there's profit to be had and it helps pay the power bills.

Shifted a few older cards recently and reinvested in more 1080ti cards, have a PALIT GeForce GTX 1080 TI Founders Edition 11 GB arriving tomorrow, got it for a good price ... not played with one of those before  Grin

I had 2 in a case like yours and they were getting as hot as 75c mining zec a few months back + you can turn this HAB case into an open case rig by taking off all the side panels. There are some hdd cages on the lower level which can also be unscrewed and taken out as needed.

2 480's and 2 470's all 8gb. Mostly mining eth at 125.7 mh/s. Right now they are on zec with 1260 h/s.
Don't have a watt meter but gpu-z shows 80 - 90W for the 470's and 90-100W for the 480's. They are clocked high as power usage is not a concern. PS is a corsair rm850i

Does anyone have a solution to the first GPU1 not working?
I have swapped out GPUs, but GPU1 never works.  I have reduced to 5 GPUs, 4GPUs...but still GPU1 does not start.  I have moved the emulator...no change.

Any Solutions/Experiences?

Get Paid Crypto To Walk or Drive

Can anyone who has burst mining experience give me some advice?  I ran the plotter and it finished.  I started up the mining process and paid my 1 coin to set my pool.  It told me to put my passphrase into the first box and BURST-32TT-TSAC-HTKW-CC26C into the second box, so I assume it should be mining at pool.burst-team.us.  I click start mining and it is running and it looks like is doing what it should be doing.  Every now and then I get a message that says a deadline was found, but there aren't any coins coming into my wallet.  It has been almost 24 hours now, and nothing.

If I go to the pools website, I am not even sure how to check my stats, nothing really shows up on the page.

Any advice?
