For the record, I've also voted for a refund on your googledocs poll. That's on my 320 chips, and if possible the 20 boards too. It comes to BTC41.98 total, but I'd accept BTC41, keep the change as a thanks for the hard work you had to put in.

I'm guessing Yifu is dragging his feet one way or another, haven't heard anything from Steamboats group buy recently.
I'm sure cogs are slowly turning somewhere!

Every1 asking for refund, you realize you lose 50% of your investment since most of the boards are not getting refunded.

I knew there were risks going in, I would consider getting 50% back a hard lesson in counter party risk. Not great, but better than nothing. Not that I am happy of course, but I would be surprised if avalon were not to make some kind of concession to the group buys. Edit : lol maybe the concession will be getting anything back at all.

I'd like to say so much on this. but cannot reveal info right now. No good news from Avalon, though, no tracking number, no reply to my e-mail.. Whatever. Let this be the last time I (we) trust them in shipping us something within reasonable time. Anyway, i may have some good turnaround plans to get us all out of this big pile of sh... shit-uation we are in right now. More info in the evening, i'm still at work right now and it's getting dark..

Are you going to share with us the results of the refund/no refund vote? Also (you probably already know this, but just in case...), if a refund was the decision, there is a form you need to submit to Bitsyncom to start the process. I wouldn't want to miss the boat because you were waiting to hear back on an email.

I want a refund too. Bought it on the web page and it is probably the Batch #2. It's order number #1372 ฿18.41, you can return ฿18 and keep the change. Please respond.

Newsletter from avalon
Now accepting refunds from any and all order dates Due to delays we are now offering full refund in bitcoin for all the Avalon Generation One orders made on any date, It is advise for people to request refunds due to the delay and raise of bitcoin difficulty.
The update refund form can be found on the main store site, linked here. Due to phishing attempts and spam, any refund request not made containing the original order email and phone number will be automatically rejected by the system and marked as spam, so please bear this in mind.
Avalon Generation Two Chips 55nm Those who have invested in time and money on Avalon Generation One based devices and clones can rejoice in the fact we had the foresight to make Avalon Generation Two chips completely backward compatible in every way with 110nm generation one chips, which can be expect to go on sale Late October 2013 for immediate shipping. Avalon will no longer participate in any kind of pre-ordering.
Developers and Hobbyists should keep an close eye on our github account as we will be releasing the 55nm chip specification and reference design soon!
In light of this I believe we should refund all of the orders. It makes no sense at this point to even try to get a batch.
I think it's time for refund on our batch#1 and #2 chips. Maybe ordered boards and electronic parts can be used for that gen. 2 chips?

...completely backward compatible in every way with 110nm generation one chips...
That's interesting, but i would wait for the specs indeed. If they would be performing close to bitfury chips in terms of power efficiency and speed...

Time to fill that refund order, and wait for Avalon 2nd generation chips to start shipping.

completely backward compatible in every way I do wonder what this is going to look like. If they want to be fully backwards compatible they can't add additional hashing units, that would require a protocol update. Perhaps they can leverage a higher frequency at the same power use of the gen1 chip. Or lower power use for the same performance could be interresting for those sensitive to electricity prices. Also a smaller chip means more chips from a wafer, thus resulting in a cheaper chip. Presuming 55nm isn't four times more expensive then 110nm. The chips are by far the most expensive components in a miner, making them cheaper could make the whole miner cheaper by a significant factor. I still want the gen1 chips I ordered. I'll just get the gen2 ones for a new miner.

Interesting idea, Plazma. However, i don't really trust Avalon can deliver in October.. anymore. In other news, chips will be refunded from both batches. Only chips at the moment. Whoever wants to stay in, reinvest in something else, is welcome to stay. Whoever wants out, will be refunded. More news in the morning, i've got several pages of math to do. I hate to keep you in the dark, but i still need my numbers right.
