The point was that several groupbuys from zefir and sebastian have received a notice of delivery within 12h out of the dark even though they requested refund on them.

With Avalon you get stupefied each day.

Will we get refunds for the assembly that was purchased as well?
That may not be possible.  I think all the components have been purchased already.
But if my order got its chips refunded because that's what the majority voted for, then my assembly order doesn't have any chips to put into the board that I paid for. The board is now useless without the chips.

That's like buying a brand new car, but being told after the sale that the engine is delayed for 2 years. You can have a refund on the engine, but not the car itself. In the meantime, I'm stuck with a car that can't go anywhere, and I can't get my money back.

And taken right from their product page: http://alphahpc.com/product/klondike-k16/

Yep, it's a shit sandwich alright.  However, knowing that the money has already been spent on components, what exactly do you expect Steve to do?  He certainly can't refund us all.  Are you attempting to be a squeaky wheel?

I don't know what you mean by squeaky wheel.

I don't have an answer, that's why I'm asking the community: What are we supposed to do? If the majority voted for a refund on the Avalon chips, and the batch that my chips were in got a refund instead of chips, what do I do with my assembly order that is now useless? I can't just throw those BTC away.

"Squeaky wheel gets the grease." - It means the person that complains the loudest gets dealt with first, basically.

I must have misunderstood.  It seemed like you were specifically pushing Steve to refund, since you were quoting the refund policy from his website.

All I'm saying is that there isn't money to refund everyone, so getting a refund is not a community solution.

Then what is?

Steve said he has something in the works. What that could be I have no idea. I could guess, but to what good? I have no reason to doubt him yet, he's put far more on the line than some other organisers. It would take some good news for this to be turned around though. I'm willing to wait to hear what it is.

I have doubts on Yifu's ability to refund everyone. That's pretty much my concern. Steve obviously can't talk about what's coming down the pike and we are all hostage to Yifu's ability or willingness to honour refunds.

We're all upset, time is of the essence, but there is nothing we can do but wait. As someone said in an earlier post, we are all chomping on a big shit sandwich. I think it's best to expect the worst case and hope for some off chance of salvage and at least getting something back.

I think that chips will be refunded. The problem is refunding boards and assembly orders, if Steve already ordered and paid for parts and manufacturing. burnin is offering partial refunds (50%) to his customers, or a 70% for a transfer of the order on the next project (maybe bitfury board).

I'd hazard a guess that some kind of transfer will be available depending on Steve's proposal. I'm also fairly confident that some of the cost can be recouped for the boards, but this is the sticky point and depends entirely on how Steve deals with it.

I think those that have purchased boards and chips should get a vote on whether or not to...

a) refund chips and profit margins on the boards (only 30-60% IF THAT)
Or
b) use the chip refund to purchase the new Avalon chips to put in the boards

I also read in other threads that Yifu is giving some groups discounts on the new chips to make up for the delay. We had better bloody get one too!

Tip Me if believe BTC1 will hit $1 Million by 2030

When do we get refund? Chips and shipping...

And I don't get exactly why we can't get refunds on boards. As far as I know they were not made since we were told that chips will not be added at later date and since prototype start working week or two back I don't think anyone would used money to buy components before working prototype is ready.

And since I was forced in refund I would like to see invoice that shows that you used money on components or I will ask for refund on this to since board was not send... (terms and conditions say(or did say at the time I was ordering) I can do that).

If I can't then I would like to get a board so I can buy gen2 chips anywhere. In this case I don't need refund on shipping.
