Guys i need someone to answer me this properly or so. IF i were to make 1 rig with 7x 1080 Ti, i plan to buy Zotac AMP! Extreme, how much PSU Wattage i need? Can i do it with 2x 1000? or 2x 860?

I have 1 rig also with Zotac AMP! Extreme, but 1070. Cards are beasts and on 100% they can pull 250W that's their nominal power (although on 100% they never drain more then 150-160W when they do zcash and similiar algos, at least from what i remember). My 7x Zotac 1070 rig draws around 1100 W from the wall (i have watt meter) and they are on 2x Corsair AX860i, so around 1700 W overal. Here i have even 600 wats more then i need. System is super stable and works like a charm. On eth i get 31-32MHS, on signatum around 31 and on Zcash i get 420-430 sols per card.

I run 1 Rig with 7gtx 1070 - 4x Zotac AMP! Extreme, 2x Msi Gaming x and 1x Msi aero on just 2x Corsair HX750i and also works like a charm, i have like 400 watts extra.

And 1 rig runs on just 1 Seasonic 1000w Supply, 6x gtx 1070, those are mix of weaker cards and stronger. 2x Asus dual oc, 1x Zotac mini, 1 Msi gaming x and 2x Gigabyte Aorus. Also runs perfectly fine with no issues. I have like 300 watt extra.

My zotacs are always from 50-60% Power limit, i dont need higher as they give amazing hashrates on this, and they just start heating more, so it's not worth it.
I guess 1 1080TI on 50-70% power limit shouldnt drain more then 225w per card, that equals 1575 + cpu mobo and such. I would say 2x1000W or 1x1000 + 1x860 should be enough or?

Dunno why you put this huge numbers and use 1200W PSU-s for just 3 or 4 cards.

The AMP Extreme is inadequately cooled according to GamersNexus.

Hmmm that's odd. I have Gtx 1070 AMP! EXtreme, they look the same like 1080Ti and i like how they cool. Cards are not over 47-55 degrees and on 57 - 64% fan. True, 1080 TI will take more power so probably fans need to work faster if they didnt changed cooling system a bit. Hmmm i'll check it out.

Is cooling system on Gaming X 1070 and 1080Ti the same? If so then Zotac should be better, as my Zotac 1070 cools better then 1070 Gaming x

Edit: ooh seen that vram and fet temps are also important and not so cooled. Hmmm, what do you guys suggest? Which one should i get, cooling is most important to me.

All my am extreme cool really well. Not sure why it reported as not.

With my tropical climate, i am running at 100% it still at below 65 degree and pulling around 300W each card

He told GPU is ok cooled but VRAM and FET (transistors) are not so well cooled, actualy FET is worse cooled, like 90 degrees

So, is there anything to cold down the FET? 90c is abit unacceptable to electronic component (although Intel told me that my i7 7770 can take up to 100c, I never believe it, this is the worst CPU that I ever bought).

Hello,

I got my new EVGA SC BLACK 1080ti.

If I use these settings i get 750 sol :

100% power
+120 core
+200 mem

The temperature is around 77 c . Is this temperature is high for 24 h usage ?

If it is I can chnage the power to %85 without any oc , that runs areound 72c but with 700 sol. What do you prefer ?=

Thanks

50sol(750-700)=9$/month;

I think lower power, 75-85% is best even if we make a little less. In the long run there will be less component failure, less RMA.

So he's giving up $6 / month?  i.e. makes $9 less but saves $3 in electricity.

Would there be a problem with windows if you install 10x 1080ti GPU's on an ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ motherboard?

What i heard 8 is max.

Zotac 1080ti Core is cheaper than extreme and the same Card.
Best card i have is the 1080ti Gigabyte Aorus.

Someone got 5+gpu rig running on MSI Z270A-PRO ?
I've got problem today, after adding 3 more cards to rig (from 2 to 5).
Everything seems ok, mobo see all cards with 4G enabled, but...
When I start ccminer, everything is good until miner thread are enabled.
Then after few sec one RANDOM card (of three connected to PSU just for cards), goes WOOF! (100% fan) and BSOD TDR Error happens.
I've checked every connection, checked cards, risers, psu's.
Everything is working great when there are only 2 cards connected... I'm running cards with 75% tdp to keep them and psu's cool...
On one PSU (750w b+) i've got 2x MSI Gaming X (working good) on another (850w b+) I've got 1xMSI Gaming X, 1xZotac Amp! Extreme Core and 1x Asus ROG Strix Gaming.
Mining with any configuration with 2 cards works. Sometimes Zotac wont start at boot (like driver problems it's red led, then after booting into Windows it starts flashing blue). I've recent Nvidia drivers installed, clean windows 10 UEFI installation.
Any advices what went wrong? Sad

I have that motherboard on a rig but with 6 AMD RX-580.

Your Windows 10 was installed with UEFI On ? (its actually Windows 8 or 8.1 selection in that silly menu/options in the BIOS)

Well I didn't enabled anything in bios before windows setup but I've made bootable usb with Rufus, GPT partitioning for UEFI systems, so I assumed that it'll for sure be UEFI.
Only thing I've changed in bios was 4g Enable, because it was disabled by default, and 3 of my cards was with yellow triangle in device manager, switching 4G solved it, but during some boots not all cards are again found by OS, and they appear as Unknown VGA Device on Unknown Device's list.
Really don't know what I've messed up. Maybe PSU draw offset is too low? It's 1600W, even when counting efficiency on 100% load it should be minimum 1350W (85%).  Dont know how much Zotac and Asus draws at 75% tdp but MSI was ~210w on skein/ea so I've just distributed them 2 on one psu with mobo and cpu, and 3 on other alone.

you need to choose Windows 8/8.1 in the BIOS (enable UEFI) instead of Windows 7 and (you wont be happy) you need to reinstall Windows 10.
I had a similar problem, my rig was fine with 4 cards but not with 5 or 6 until I reinstall Windows 10 after selecting Windows 8/8.1 instead of Windows 7 in the BIOS.

Of course if it was already set to Windows 8/8.1 then your problem is something else.

Please share with us the solution has soon as possible guys, Thanks.

MSI Z270A-PRO
I7 7700
16Gb RAM
3 EVGA 1080TI Black SC
1 MSI 1080TI AERO

With this setup can I use 12 GPU with riser hub??

if you installed Windows 10 with the OS selection in the BIOS set to Windows 7, you will need to reinstall Windows. If it is set to Windows 8/8.1 (UEFI) then you are fine.

And no, you cant just change the selection (it wont even boot).
