Is this typical of Slush's pool, to have the admin pages down for 1/2 a day and counting?

I was in the middle of doing a comparison between pools, and I can't even check my stats.   I certainly *HOPE* that the mining that I've been doing all day has been working properly.

This is getting kind of ridiculous to be down for so long.

Isn't there some kind of monitoring to know when your server is dead?

Getting sick of seeing this all day:
502 Bad Gateway

Usually pretty darn good only other thing was when his wallet bugged and didn't payout every hour but he fixed it pretty quick.  My view of the pools is bitcoinpool.com has no fees but it is down quiet a bit more then I would like.  Tycho's has highest fee but no invalids and since it's been rock solid so far for me is currently my favorite.  Slush's is great for consistent small payouts and (usually) good uptime.  BTCMine I haven't used.

Names do not matter; however, if you insist...id...

I just flipped back to deepbit.     My 24 hour test ended, and I have no idea what my stats are, and I'm not going to let this cook overnight to find out that stuff's broken on the money side.   Too many BTC to risk.

Later you can check slush's block history at http://mining.bitcoin.cz/stats/?history=1000
My average shares per block in last 24 hours were ~56000, so i'm ready for this comparison :))

(24h isn't long enough for such random things anyway)

Welcome to my bitcoin mining pool: https://deepbit.net - Both payment schemes (including PPS), instant payout, no invalid blocks !

Looks like you never sleep, right?

Bitcoind crashed hour after I went to bed, sorry for the troubles. It looks like similar problems as mndrix reported; bitcoind freezed during payouts (again). The freeze didn't affect mining, only web server and it is up again.

Unfortunately it freezed during payouts, so I had to stop automatic payments and have to process payments later manually. It will be done tomorrow, as my today's plan is quite different than pairing hundreds of transactions.

ok I think I found out what is up, but slush just responded with some answers. Looks like they were all just added to unconfirmed for the time being even after being confirmed. Anyhow happy mining  Wink

What about running some sort of cheap monitoring system like https://www.cloudkick.com?  You can create custom scripts to check if a process is running and they'll send you a text if/when it isn't.

You win, I processed it now (damn my compulsive disorder). So everything is fixed, payments are automatic again.

To monitoring: Do you really think that sms wake up ME? Definitely not Wink. I have some monitoring on the pool (including http status of site), but I'm usually unawakeable.

Maybe anyone of our fellow demandant miners wish to monitor it 24x7 and call you on the phone.   Grin

http://www.pagerduty.com/

That will integrate with several monitoring services and actually call you on the phone, over and over, until you tell it to stop or resolve the issue.

It does require a subscription fee though. :/
