Nice one.

You know, I'm not opposed to people making money. I really have no problem with that.

But when you become no better than Butterfly Lab, and put pre-ordered, pre-manufactured, untested stuff on Ebay, that's when I have to call COMPLETE BULLSHIT !

Have a nice day. Oh, and don't even try the "It's not me" defense. It's not gonna work with me.

That ebay add was obviously posted by some sleaze bag that is going to order next Tuesday at 9:00. He is probably eligible for an early pre order. Sort of like scalping tickets at a rock concert. What a gold fever soap opera.  How much more pathetic situations will I witness in my lifetime?  Roll Eyes

Can we please give this guys a rest ? Stop screaming Scam , listing unaffiliated E-bay auctions (which would be easily identifiable , if you have read the products description.), throwing fits over pre-orders ?

They have obviously Chips ordered and a Klondike board at their hands.

The pre-order thing is because people are fucking insane over asics, that they would sell their whole family and their dog for an asic right now. It is not the right thing to do but KNCMiner got and will get way more Money thrown afterthem and I believe they are not meeting their deadlines. (This will be a fucking disaster if this happens.) So what ? You don't have to buy a pre-order.

SO please stop this bullshit. Do your own research and then decide if you order. But do it quiet.

It looks like they might have to put some sort of limit on how much you can buy. We don't want some greedy dunce buying enough for 100 people and then scalping on ebay before next Tuesdays order. Sheesh.

TerraHash, I don't want to pull you away from finishing and testing your K16 board, but have you looked into the BFL board schematics? If you guys are ordering and manufacturing K16 boards, maybe you guys could look into doing the same with a BFL SC clone board? Thanks.

Tips? 1crazy8pMqgwJ7tX7ZPZmyPwFbc6xZKM9

This listing is not ours. We are in no way associated with the person who posted this listing.

I accept your explanation at face value, for whatever it's worth.

They have another listing also, for K64. My suggestion is to flag it using E-bay's system.

This is the kind of thing that happens when people start doing pre-orders and stuff. I suppose it is par for the course around here.

Please do not take all this the wrong way. I have nothing against you, personally. In fact, I was planning on ordering a few cases from you. They do look nice.

Agreed. If it's not your listing, I think you should report it to EBay.

If nothing else, they have stolen your photos of the board. That alone should get the listing pulled, or at least the photos pulled. Plus the listing is borderline misleading, since the design isn't yet proven (technically speaking - I have no doubt it will ultimately work.)

If I were you I'd try and start policing ebay a bit maybe. The listing there COULD perhaps influence people to think badly of Terrahash themselves.

What newmars was saying is that TH is based out of the Bay area of Cali.
The ebay auction is from Portland, and doubtful to be terrahash's listing.

You can check whatever you want in your E-bay preferences.

And, it takes about 30 seconds to make your computer appear like it's from Portland, or Slovenia (nothing against Slovenia), or whatever location you want.

So, while your observation is noted, it still does not exonerate Terrahash.

I would like an official Terrahash response to the question of "Why are they selling nonworking Klondike 16 units on Ebay?", before I request a scammer tag in the proper forum.

The final design has not been finalized by the community designer, and there is no software (to my knowledge) which will run the unit right now.

Again, I'm not flaming anybody. I am simply requesting information and pointing out (potentially uncomfortable) inconsistencies (as a service to the community).

No you're not *simply* requesting information and pointing out inconsistencies.  What you are doing is purposely kicking up sh*t and making accusations with absolutely no proof.
Yes, you can check whatever you want in ebay preferences.  Yes you can make your computer look like it's coming from anywhere.  And none of that in any way proves that it is Terrahash.  Yet you state that it doesn't exonerate him.  Last time I checked, it was supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until you prove yourself innocent just because one person decided to start throwing out wild accusations.

How many people are on ebay?  How many people have been selling preorders on ebay?  It could be any one of them.  There's nothing to suggest that it is Terrahash, other than *your* assumption and accusation that it is.
"This order will be placed (and paid for) on Tuesday June 18th, 9AM PST.  Ordering does not open to the public until 24 hours after this time, so this is a special place in line and will be one of the first orders shipped.  Your order will ship via Fedex Overnight, insured, with a tracking number."

This statement alone actually suggests that it is someone who intends to place a preorder and resell it for a profit.  Just like all the people who bought in on group buys of chips or the USB block erupter and resold them on eBay for profit.  BTC mining right now is rife with people who have no interest in mining themselves and are only buying hardware because they've seen how much people desperate for hardware will pay.  They've seen some of the miner auctions on ebay hit $30,000 and they're looking to make a quick buck.  Many more people are buying more hardware than they need and reselling the surplus for profit to make back their money and get their hardware effectively cheap or free.

Now, until you actually have something substatial that suggests the auction is terrahash, why don't you take your unfounded allegations and keep them to yourself.

have you taken in consideration, that when your products will be available they will not be worth it, at current price, because of difficulty?

example the 18GH unit, with 36M difficulty, should not cost more than 2.5 btc

this ratio must be maintained so we can make profit in 2 months
5BTC/10GHS/10M difficulty

the goal is to make 3x ROI with an asic
1xROI for your investment
2xROI for the investment of your next machine, to catch up the difficulty
3xROI to make your profit

so right now a 18 GHS should cost 5 at max

I believe K16 price is justified, and K64 price is actually reasonable too. However, with the DX Large with 10 K64 boards priced at $10,500, you're not only not offering any discount whatsoever for purchasing 10 K64s, you're charging $1500 on top of it for the case. There's no consideration for the economy of scale; the DX Large price is simply not sustainable and I don't know that the ROI is there b/c it drives up the cost of each board by more than one BTC. Please reconsider your price for this item.

$55 a GH without a power supply without heatsinks (4.5gh)

and $50 a GH for the 18Gh unit just makes it too expensive.

You would have to be able to deliver before BFL which gives you 5Gh for the same money and you get power supply and cooling.

You should be looking for credibility, the best way to do that is to provide evidence you have ordered chips and their expected arrival date.

Very simple.
I will post an evidence on Monday. The fact that we were one of the first to get the sample chips should be enough though.

Today, Monday 17 June 2013:

- Price up +28%
- No bitcoin payment, now dollars.
- Not provide evidence you have ordered chips and their expected arrival date.
- Not tested klondike PCB.

but of course, you will start taking orders tomorrow Tuesday at 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time...  Sad

Thats our cost! 75-80% of the cost is in the chips. Maybe you should tell Avalon to lower the prices of the chips

Well if $250 is your cost for a 18Gh unit perhaps $900 is a bit steep?

Since a ready to run unit (including cooling and power) from others costs about $50 a GH
you may want to consider $40 a GH for your units   $180 for 4.5gh,  $720 for 18GH

I'd consider paying more if you could guarantee a delivery date of a working unit

The cost seems not possible since 64 chips would cost more than that
While the final cost did seems a little more than expected  Smiley

That's true, I didn't stop and do the math, their cost of chips would be about $510 for a 64 board and $128 on the 16 board.
