Rape is a serious crime which requires severe punishment. I do not believe death is warranted as even the worst of the worst are able to change and show remorse, however at least 5 years in prison up to 15 years for sure.

Rape is largely caused by pornography. Porn desensitizes us to the realities of sexual intercourse, true intimacy, and instead replaces it with often violent/objective scenes which are not how it really works.

Unfortunately, I do not see any clear way of how to reduce this. My main recommendation would be to popularize the use of pepper spray/mace by young women in India in order that they may defend themselves should this type of thing happen to them.

It's a horrible crime and therefore it should be a horrible punishment eh? That's where people go wrong though is that they let a horrible crime go unpunished or not severely punished enough to leave a lasting deterrent for others to commit the same crime!

I do not know how will the victims lead their life after such incident has happen in their life. In some countries, the rapists are let off freely if they marry the victim. I’m sure that most countries have already laws against rape, since it is considered a crime almost universally, the problem is prosecution and corruption, you need to catch the rapist and then prove in a court of law they are guilty.

So rape didnt exist before porn?  Rape has existed since there was males and females.

As a victim would you care if the person that did it showed remorse or changed their ways, if it happened to my wife or daughter I would be happy to feed them feet first through a wood chipper with no hesitation or regret.

Wrong. Pornography helps people to masturbate and decreases sexual tension. This lowers the libido and thus makes people less drawn to an intercourse.
Violent sex has nothing to do with rape, these are two completely different things. Many people like roughs sex, but they aren't rapists. Most rapists on the other hand don't do it because they want rough sex. They do it because they just want any sex. They feel the need and want to satisfy it, just like drug addicts.

Some of the rapists or maybe all the people who commit a crime , didnt fear the laws. Maybe because they know that there is also law that will protect their rights even as if they are criminals or rapists and they can easily escape the law. For once I thought it is just and right to have a death penalty to the rapist so that people who wants to rape a girl will think first and fear the law.

There's a law telling the punishment of rape. In my opinion the best punishment in rape is death penalty. Death penalty for rape is protection for a woman. If aware the magnacarta for women as an international law protecting the rights of women and children that the rape is the higher crime encountered by the woman. To fair it and to secure the safeness of women death penalty must be implemented in rape not only in some country but in the whole worlds as international laws commanding the rape case the penalty is death.

It is a horrible crime, and the biggest tragedy is that most of the time the perpetrators are not punished. In India, the conviction rate for rape is around 3%, and this is the state even after more than 3/4th of the rapes are not reported to the police.

Then why doesn't that defense apply to some rape cases too ?

By the way growing up i seen plenty of chicks claim they were raped when they were not.
Sometimes they feel bad about what they did and simply want to act innocent or get sympathy attention etc.

There are a lot of people in the world, who are not afraid of death. So death penalty is not the ultimate solution. IMO, there is a better method. Rapists must be castrated in the public, and then they should be sent to some labor colony to spend the rest of their lives. Any compensation from their wages must be directly given to the victim.

In my own personal opinion the criminal should be sentence with a death penalty because what he did was unforgivable and he should not been free. If death penalty is not permitted in some countries then the accused should undergo with a trial if he is truly guilty cause some women is exploiting this kind of laws for them to benefit and make profit. In our country heinous crimes like murder and rape are being studied to added in the death penalty law but some law implementors doesn't angry to this. First of all there should be improvement in the conviction rate. In my country, only a small fraction of the rapists receive punishment for their actions. Most of them avoid jail time, either by bribing the policemen, or by intimidating the victim.

Yes I agree, maybe that would be enough punsihment for rapist or anyone with sexual desires.  Maybe, they should already been distributing it in the market all over the world so that there wouod be less rape incident.  I will surely buy that even it will cost like a big one.  You will atleast feel safer when you have those.  Hope that it would be available in the market soon.

This is a wonderful thing, but it does not protect against rape, but only traumatizes the rapist. Girls from childhood need to learn self-defense and how to use weapons or electric shocks, this will help to minimize the number of such unpleasant incidents.
