I have read in the news that that like bitcoin as virtual currencies are assets and does not have the characteristics or what it takes to be a currency that could meet our modern economic needs. It was said that it does not have the fundamental attributes. What are your thoughts about it?

Bitcoin is what we make of it. But we can't make Bitcoin do things it can't. It can be used as currency for buying some things online, for some online gambling, and remittance. It is an asset, an investment. But we have to admit that right now it cannot meet our macro economic needs. It cannot substitute a country's economic budget from billions of dollars to bitcoin. It cannot finance countries that needs to lend money like IMF does. It cannot even meet our micro, personal economic needs. Bitcoin is still not at the stage to be used in grocery shopping or commuting. But it doesn't mean that Bitcoin doesn't have the characteristics of becoming a currency that can meet our every needs. Just give it time.
This is the same argument used against gold and yet gold was able to take care of all of the economies of the world for thousands of years, there is enough bitcoin to manage the whole economy of the world the real issue of bitcoin is that it cannot manage that amount of transactions and that is why we got segwit as a scaling solution.

I think bitcoin is not just an asset. It is more than that, because one’s assets can be increased while doing some other business and the assets it self will never grow. But in the case of bitcoin the themes is different, because it is also an asset and a business as well.

If someone buy bitcoin and hold in his wallet after some time his wallet will become heavy due to increase in the price of bitcoin.

For you information normal currencies which are called fiat currency are considered assets, what do you want them to be in the first place? You consider your fiat currency as some kind of liquid asset, in short being a liquid asset is the most acceptable kind of asset. And what are you even arguing about? Bitcoin is invented as a currency in the first place and all of you just keep re-mentioning about its uses as a currency, the important thing here is that Bitcoin as an asset has a really good growth potential compared to money.

Every commodity is more or less an asset, and particularly money is an asset, so I've no problem with the assertion that bitcoin and altcoins are assets.

Making it as an asset is not a bad thing really. Yes eventually Bitcoin will be your savior in the brink of being broke. It can change one life especially in his financial status.

So you fully depend on Bitcoin, therefore you made as your job right now, to make a living not bad for starters.

Bitcoin is not a currency but I think Bitcoin is an asset, although there are many people who can make better earning using bitcoin. I think it is too difficult if bitcoin becomes currency because it will create instability in the country's economy and the country's currency will not be the hallmark of the country.

Ok, so he has two arguments for why it isn't a currency:
1) Value is too unstable
2) Processing is inconvenient
Response to 1) there are plenty of unstable currencies. They're still currencies. Instability is a negative, sure, but it isn't a disqualifier.
Response to 2) Bitcoins convenience lies in its obscurity, not in its processing time.
Note: I've never owned bitcoins and perhaps never will, but you can't just redefine what's a currency for a clickbait title. Currency = a widely used medium of exchange.

Definitely, bitcoin lacks some fundamental aspects of a currency.First, its highly volatile in nature due to which most of countries have not still legalized bitcoin.Transaction time taken is also an issue.Only 1 million bitcoins are available which would create a great demand and problem for it to be used a s a currency in future.More over, most people now have started to treat bitcoin as a high return giving asset.Since its price has increased very high, they just want to save it as an asset rather than spending it as a currency to buy products.

Yeah, bitcoin for me, it is just like an asset, Because i have many reasons in my mind that's why i can call that bitcoin is an asset. Because bitcoin is most popular and strong crypto currency, if we store it for our future and use bitcoin as a money then bitcoin all the time work it. It is an example, that if we buy a plot for investment and save it for a long time, then after 5 to 10 years, this plot will be expensive. Then same like in bitcoin, if you save your bitcoin for a long time, then 100% bitcoin will give you more than triple profit. It is a quality of asset.

I think of it as an asset whether it is considered by some as money or commodity. Asset is something that you own with economic value whether its tangible or intangible (Bitcoin falls into this category) that you own that you will benefit in the future and generates income. Since Bitcoin is appreciating in value, for me it is an asset that you can invest into. For now, it is like a gold or silver that you will buy and wait for it to appreciate in value.

Even by EU Directive and US Federal Law, Bitcoin is a currency, not an asset. Basically, from legal standpoint, that only makes difference when you pay taxes Smiley

In my opinion, the perception of each person's property is different. How important are you using that property?

Bitcoin has a main function as a currency. The currency is used to perform some financial transactions in the world today.
those who chose bitcoin as an investment are usually the ones who want to profit from the really fast rise and downfall in the bitcoin price.
Definitely, it is a virtual currency. Most importantly it is the secured crypto currency widely used all over the world for different purposes such as trading, investments and sale/purchase of products, projects, ideas and designs of various things. Therefore it is the most valuable asset for me.

Bitcoin is an asset in the digital form. It is the best type of saving that a person can have at present. Bitcoin is also titled as a digital currency because people can use this as a payment for services provided by several companies, online shops and brands. The most important thing is that it can give large profits in future.

Yes I totally agree, the presence of bitcoin makes a lot of changes in our lives, we can earn extra for doing something simple such as joining the signature campaign program in this forum.
