I am a web developer that created a service where users can register .bit domains with Namecoins or Bitcoins. The idea is to make it very easy for anyone to register a .bit domain. As you might know, the manual way with namecoind and shell commands is rather complex. I hope to get whitelisted to participate in the alternate cryptocurrencies forum. You can view my site at: dotbit.meRegards, Tagide

BTC cant truly replace cash or even credit cards until they act more like the existing forms of online payment. With paypal or credit cards when you make a purchase it is confirmed instantly - and the merchant takes some of the risk of the transaction being reversed.
Right now, bitcoin merchants take little risk and wait for a confirmation of 10+ minutes, making the user wait. this wait, though not excruciating, does make it look very different to the customer than using your credit card.
having to wait 10-20 minutes for the first confirmation means theyre not instant and dont feel like using other forms of digital purchases. maybe the merchants need to find a way of eliminating the confirmation time for smaller transactions or something...

I am looking for someone that may be interested in extending a project that I have been working on. I put together a simple exchange price monitoring widget. Why is that so special? It isn't really. Other than I can select only the exchanges that those developers make available. Mine allows one to create their own list of exchanges. Here is the most simple example: http://www.minzie.com/?v1=true&action=pull&symbol=bitfloorUSDThe code can be embedded in any HTML using something like this: <iframe src=”http://www.minzie.com/?v1=true&action=pull&symbol=bitfloorUSD” style=’width:100%; height:80px;border:none;’></iframe> More information can be found here. Now that I am done with the spamming portion of the post, I will fully admit that it is only marginally useful. And it is not very attractive. I am willing to spend the time to spiff it up. Is there someone that might be interested in building a simple (and free) android widget that makes use of the API? I would like to do it myself, but I don't have enough bandwidth to tackle that right now. If anyone is interested, let me know. Otherwise, anyone that is so inclined can feel free to use the API. <Now I must go and wash the spamminess off of me> Min

I'm an avid developer of open technologies, and am currently working on an open platform for trading. I have one metric fuckton of experience in highly available solutions (with XX,XXX users per second) - and also have a fair bit of experience in developing financial projects. Information on this will be coming in the near future. Aside from this - I offer consulting and development contracting for BTC, and our ( https://nuplay.co ) prototype media appliance is also available for BTC on request. Oh, I'm also the guy behind the largest (in terms of traffic) newsgroup indexer on ze' interwebs.

Hi everyone, I am the owner/developer of VeriFi ( https://www.veri.fi/) . Company name is Cayenne Graphics, we're located in Bucharest, Romania. We plan to integrate VeriFi with smartcard-based Bitcoin wallets and possibly software wallets as well to allow them to call their owner on the phone and ask for permission for certain operations (so that certain payments / actions can be performed when the user is away from his Bitcoin client, software or hardware). Thank you, Razvan Dragomirescu

I want to share an idea with you, I'm not going to make this site because I have my own project, but why don't make a bitcoin PTC (Pay to Click)? BitPTC.com, where there are banners paid in bitcoin and users can earn 0.0000....00001 BTC per click.

Hi, I want to develop a web service which will make it easier to pay and receive payments in various crypto-currencies. I want to make it opensource. I'm intersted in market places such as BTC-e. I have questions about their API, but it's hard to get any feedback from them. Is there any other multi crypto-currency exchange?

Hi there, I have recently developed an app that allows friends on Facebook to borrow, lend and invest with each other in any currency including Bitcoin. Borrowing and lending Bitcoin is potentially useful as a means of short selling Bitcoin (or betting that the exchange rate to real currency will go down). Short term traders who think that value of Bitcoin may go down can borrow Bitcoins from long term investors, sell the Bitcoins immediately then buy the bitcoins back cheaper on the repayment date, thus turning a profit from a falling market. Long term investors get a return/interest on their Bitcoins without having to trade them. Short selling also benefits Bitcoin as a potential currency as it smooths out the wild volatility that makes Bitcoin an unsuitable medium of exchange. The Beta version is a little rough around the edges (still work in progress) but 'does what it says on the tin'. No ID verification is required, the app only requires your basic public Facebook profile info (not email address), your friend list, and your location (in order to set your default currency). The app does not make any posts to your or your friend's newsfeeds or timelines. Your friends will only know that you have joined this app if you send them a request or an invite from within the app. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and i would also be keen to hear from anyone interested in collaborating to develop the concept further vis a vis bitcoin or otherwise. https://apps.facebook.com/agree-it/look forward to hearing from you best regards Agree it!

Does anyone still read these messages? Or should I just post until I hit the 5 post limit? It's a bit stupid, I want to contribute to the community, not write random stuff in various threads to hit the limit.

random crap seems to be the winning combination (this is #3 for me, for instance.)
