If you can't see the seized page just used a proxy server and you will see it. Either that or delete your cache etc. Seizure means like I said before that they are treating it like the Silk Road. As I said before I read the entire indictment. They speak like the entire user base of BTC-e are criminals. Don't believe it then go read it yourself. It's over.

Since when do they write down the name of the website?

Look at this one
http://sharebeast.com/

Also  a check on seized domain images on google shows nothing like that

Please god drop a bomb on the DoJ !

It doesnt help, you dont need to believe it but its true. Sad

That's not useful and these actions mean exchanges in future will be more compliant with regulations that are there to protect people. I don't really want bitcoin to remain the wild west forever.

The seized image is not fake, you can check it archived here: https://archive.is/e3L3o

If you don't see it you have to use Google DNS ( 8.8.8.8 ), open Chrome Incognito, load http://btc-e.com (without HTTPS).

Well seems like I'm wrong about kickass and this is quite funny since I was using it around the time of the bust.
For demonoid is too far away to remember and I can't get any results.

But still the art is creepy.

Signs of the best.

Yup. they did a good job at it. They should receive an A+, don't they?

ok guyz, its just a fukin domain name Oo"

it was pretty obvious that they will get the domain name under control, asap.

btc-e can get many different domain names and start over, if they are still in control of the database and servers, of course.

honestly, i still dont feel like goxxed Smiley but if this is really the end, then wtf... where to trade, if it is soooo eazy to seize an exchange for those us mofos...

You're really grasping at straws right now.
This is it. It will take miracle for it to return and this is not a Mel Brooks movie.

Which reminds me of this guy who was also in denial.

This is the first time some of my coins and money (approx. 5 BTC + $8000) might be gone... but I am quite calm. My instincts say that the game is far from being over.

1.) Client funds and coins are not compromised.
2.) Admins are in control of the site.
3.) Admins are trying to get the site back to business. Why would they be lying?
4.) A well known exchange is a gold mine.
5.) Taking the clients money/coins and run sounds too risky. Some powerful whales have millions of dollars at BTC-E. No fun to hide from them the rest of your live.
5.) US taking down the biggest russian exchange? Putin never misses a chance kicking US's ass. He might interfere some way.

I think there is at least a 50% chance that BTC-E restarts business in the near future. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Bet he isn't as calm as he was.
Both 2,3 and 5.1 Smiley are done for.

Hey guys... logged in after a long break Grin

Those of you NOT using VPN! Read on!

You should REALLY sign up for VPN service before you touch that dial again on btc-e again...

TorVPN accept Bitcoin and Litecoin. You get a 10% discount if you pay with Litecoin / LTC

https://torguard.net/anonymoustorrentvpn.php

ProXPN proxpn.com takes Paypal and easy to use, works on Mac also:

https://secure.proxpn.com/member/signup.php

Try not to use TOR as all entry points are monitored and DO NOT use TAILS that's also like painting a target on your forehead.

I'm sure there are a number of VPN services that offer different options [ feel free to list], but if you dont USE VPN you SHOULD REALLY get one NOW!

Cheers!

This is an excellent site with lots of great info, including: "VPN providers with extra layers of privacy":

https://privacytoolsio.github.io/privacytools.io/

"Our VPN Provider Criteria

Operating outside the USA or other Five Eyes countries.
More: Avoid all US and UK based services.
    OpenVPN software support.
Accepts Bitcoin, cash, debit cards or cash cards as a payment method.
No personal information is required to create an account. Only username, password and Email.

We're not affiliated with any of the above listed VPN providers. This way can give you honest recommendations."

Thx for info. Looks like TorGuard has a known "Secret" Key Huh Dam. OK.

There are some hardcore VPN services, listed

like Cryptostorm [Iceland] https://cryptostorm.is/

that take payment in Bitcoin. Maybe a better option.

And DONT use Windows 10. I guess most do. But I tried... Roll Eyes

This is useful, we can only hope the ukrainian conflict will end asap and Eurasia will work together to defeat the US. This is the only chance to stop the autocracy.

But i wonder i can still see the "maintenance" site and the twitter log?? There is something wrong.

Maybe Vinnik sold the other admins???

And you will think they won't be doing like the us?
There were a lot of guys who thought that Russia was a safe heaven for torrenting till they seized torrents.ru

They aren't seizing anything yet because they lack the power to do it.
But trust me, with Putin in command you won't have any exchange online that doesn't send all your data and a protection fee to kremlin on every trade.

Well, how far the USA hands reach? https://btc-e.nz still in control. Even though, it is also cloudflare, which is a USA company. So anytime soon, it could be gone too.

Well, how far the USA hands reach? https://btc-e.nz still in control. Even though, it is also cloudflare, which is a USA company. So anytime soon, it could be gone too.

I don't think btc-e intends on running a wanted criminal website, they rely on seeming like a professional business otherwise other fiat partners cannot do business with them.

The domain going down was a signal of the intents of the US Government, they don't just want to fine BTC-e but they want it shut down. They can't run an exchange like this.

It's not like the pirate bay where some governments are going to have disagreements over what technically counts as piracy or whatever, it was a huge money laundering operation even if many legit users got caught up in it, there is no chance they will return.
