Can someone post a simple explanation what the announcement means to us those of us who are stunned?(its a bit over me head). I am sitting on a nice pile of WDC. Can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Looks interesting. Can't wait to see what comes of all this. Luckily I have a nice stockpile of 2/3 of those coins.

Who is 'we'? Who decides these things? What if some of us, like me, think this is a really bad idea?
If I continue to hold my coins can I expect more things like this done with no transparency or public debate???

If I continue to hold my coins can I expect more things like this done with no transparency or public debate??? the team who made this whole wdc community possible. the team who made the worldcoinforum.org, the biggest worldcoin pool, online wallet and made a lot of more efforts to support the coin and make it a great cryptocurrency with top-class community support & services.

So basically, a minority of people have arrogantly taken control of the coin and haven't given the majority of people like me a chance to debate Worldcoin joining this 'partnership'. I actually think this is a really bad idea. Three competing crypto currencies with different specifications supporting each other is going to confuse consumers. It also looks very 'centralised' too me, a minority of people making huge decisions like this without discussing it publicly. People who hold the coins currently will probably think "eh let's just see what happens, it might work". But future buyers of the coin will see the manner in which this partnership was formed (secretly behind closed doors and forced upon us) and think if they invest into worldcoin that is what they can look forward to in the future.

i think of it is a currency...not a kiddy club. I want to earn money with these coins, so as an investor, it is really awesome that people take the effort to develop my "money". They do not have to discuss everything with me, if i don't like it i will choose another coin.
Now if YOU develop MY money, I will listen to you....perhaps.

Solo mining WDC is useless now and I don't see any reliable pools still. COuld you please make a reliable pool for WDC?

You make no sense. To add further clarity, I support all projects and all developments to the coin itself. I do not support contentious decisions made behind closed doors such as partnering with the competition, confusing our future market and weakening our brand. I've yet to see one concrete example of how this is going to benefit worldcoin. Seems like this is a done deal now, all I can do is wait and see what happens. I can always convert my stash of WDC into more DGC.

So you are going to convert into another currency that decided to merge teams behind closed doors because you're mad that WDC did? Anyway, it's not the currencies that merging, it's developers. And they are human beings, you know, they have a right to do whatever they want with their time, and work with whoever they desire. You can have an opinion, obviously, and they will consider it. But you can't expect them acting on it just because you, personally, think they should. You are not their boss and you don't pay their wages. It was only an announcement, you can still debate it, if you like. Ask questions, tell your thoughts.

Sadly, the patch offers nothing other than nag-removal.
The issue of growing orphans is now almost up to 100%, thus, someone is/has created a fork attack. Have not found one pool without low orphans, and reward is about 0%-25% of the speculated diff rates. Thus, if the chart says you will earn an estimated 1000 per day, expect to get 0-250, if you can find a pool that is not hitting orphan after orphan after orphan.
This is only partly to do with the programs code, and more to do with the direct attacks that are feeding real pools invalid data to slow them down, while the attacker is building block after block on his private chain, invalidating all the legitimate blocks along the way.
(Within the same pool, blocks are orphaning with identical numbers, which is physically impossible with get-work, unless the coin code is messed-up. EG, user A finds block 12345 and then 2 min later, user B finds block 12345, which is obviously an orphan, but impossible as the pool has already found block 12345 and switched to block 12346... Thus, the attack. Purposely submitting fake data, to stall the pool, and the wallet/qt allowing that to be an acceptable submission. It shouldn't have ever been accepted in the first place, to have been resubmitted as an orphan.)
