Well, since I am posting right after, "I'm surprised this thread is still active", I am partly to blame.  The airdrop is over, we're still here, VoteCentral is up and running, the entire crypto market, Onion included seems to be running about par for the course.  People will be screaming "scam" until their lungs bleed I suppose, and if that makes them happy or satisfies some other urge they have, I guess good for them (?).

DeepOnion is no more a scam than any other currency or crypto is a scam, I mean, have you really looked at what backs up the US dollar lately?

Scam or not, all that matters for us is returns. I invested in Deep Onion a few months back (I was never part of the airdrop), and I got decent returns from my investment. So I am happy with the coin.

I have no idea about DeepOnion, it's a lot of legit. but I still have to be prepared with such a post post. because I read a lot that proves it's a real one. I may be misleading, because there is evidence,

After that the DeepOnion airdrop has been successfully concluded, in spite of the rabid crowd who has been screaming scam scam scam in this thread, without their beloved scam ever materializing in the real world and beyond their funny dreams, it is so surreal to find comments like these one, and made by Newbies and Juniors who were not even here whan the DO airdrop started:

the devs will dump all the airdrop premined coins when the price goes up they said, they will not distribute all the coins they said. well,all coins have been distibuted as promised,all the promised tech and some that wasn't promised has been released.so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It was clearly advertised on the DeepOnion ANN thread that the coins were premined as it was a signature airdrop campaign and this method requires the coins to be available so as to distribute them to each of the members wallets for each of the 40 weeks...

It was also described that the staking of the premined coins would be used for bounties and other rewards to the community members for posters videos and other contributions to the success of the project.

Also lets not forget with the airdrop rules (at that time) where there were 10 posts and 100 characters required minimum (This was relaxed a number of times)  but the majority of fud was from those who didn't comply and were banned from the airdrops. This created a lot of animosity especially as it was such an expensive crypto an there were many who bought farmed accounts to try and cheat the system as well.

However i personally think that many who read the illogical fud actually did their own research and then joined us so just gave DeepOnion even greater visibility..

As time went on the scam allegation reduced until the fudders could only say that the onion hodlers would sell after the airdrop lol

Since the last airdrop on Friday the 20th of April 2018 DeepOnion has increased .. and has had a fairly bullish month in general with all the good media articles including https://themerkle.com/what-is-deeponion/ & http://fairreporters.net/economy/best-crypto-privacy-coins-to-buy-in-2018/ Here is a new one by http://www.digitaljournal.com/pr/3735414 plus there been many others. DeepOnion was even mentioned on LastWeekTonight with John Oliver on HBO ...

i have seen some really active development in the deeponion cryptocurrency and i have been watching it since the start
people who thought or still think that deep onion was or is a scam has lost big time because it was the only crypto which airdropped ninety percent of coins
provided ample amount of chances to everyone and even after the airdrop

I understand being cautious about whether something is a scam or not. But picking the naming of an airdrop vs signature campaign as a possible reason is not a great reason.

On one hand one was required to wear a signature, like a signature campaign, but on the other hand they were not doing an ICO, and when a coin is freely distributed, that's called an airdrop model. They did this every week, and one could participate or not on any particular week. Leave and come back. Signature campaign typically last throughout an ICO and the coins are distributed after the ICO is over.

But the key thing that made this an air drop in my opinion was that the coins were being given away instead of an ICO.

The point is that using that as some sort of proof, the possible different naming of something as proof that they are dishonest is really not a good reason. Because what would the team gain in doing so? The distribution model would still be the same. Being dishonest would not give them any advantage, and would have the opposite effect.

And other than that I don't see anywhere where they were dishonest. They pretty much followed their roadmap to the t.

Anyway I'm just responding because I thought it was an interesting argument.

Edit: Things like the Twitter bounty. That's separate from the air drop, and not part of it. These were side things that people could participate in aside from the airdrop that did not affect it at all. One did not have to participate in those in order to be part of the airdrop.
