If you know that you got good coins then you should buy more when others are selling and wait for correct time to sell.
Just right on point! Only those holding shitty coins always end up getting scared as the shitty coin keeps getting dragged down.

That is why you just need to trust your portfolio and believe that no matter what, it is just going to bounce back. And even dips like what we are having presently is always the best moment to buy and get a huge profit once they get back on track.
This is why it is important to trust our investments, if we just invested because someone recommended that coin or just because we wanted to obtain quick profits then it is going to be a lot harder to keep holding when the price goes down, this is why people lose so much money since they invest in projects not knowing what the project is about.

If you are a long time holder of the bitcoin you will never worry about the situation when value dumps or bump. Keep your coins in hardware or elsewhere where you cannot touch the bitcoin in your wallet.
To invest your coins in any project you have do analyze the complete about it. For example if you are going to invest in ICO token sale you need to check the white paper release and other information.

Mostly new traders are selling their coins immediately when the price drops. But for those trader who has too much experience they tend to hold longer and evade the loss of profit. Patience is always the key when the price is decreasing.
- Depending on where we invest, we will take measures to deal with falling prices. With bitcoin, price falls is a thing that happens frequently but then it will recover and break the old price, so if we invest in bitcoin and see prices fall, the first is that we should keep calm and then consider this is an opportunity to buy more bitcoin, or just wait patiently, everything will soon be fine again. With altcoin, when prices fall, we need to clearly analyze the surrounding factors that affect prices, then we will decide we should cut losses or wait, and should still remember calm and calm, should not let psychological fluctuations

In my little experience price falling is not a problem at all. Because it's happens always. Be patient and hold your coin. Market will be rise soon. And don't panic. If you do then you will lose your coin.
Exactly, i lose many times when i'm in newbie stage in trading and i learned from it but sometimes there is a time that you need to sell your coin more than the absence of holding it.

I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.

There are 2 clear directions when the prices are falling.
1. Sell.
a. If you are not a day trader and did panic sell, you better leave this since it's not for you. Cryptos fluctuate a lot and your health is more important than some extra bucks.
b. If you are a day trader (wannabe) then you had your eyes on it and sold quick minimizing the loss; and you obviously buy back when it start rising again. Be very careful with this because you can easily end up selling cheap and buying when it's expensive.

2. Hodl.
If you trust the crypto you bought, then you trust it will have more success, you trust it'll grow even more. The hold it until it make you rich (or you believe it reached the maximum success it could). Even buy more if you afford (but never invest more than you afford to lose).

That is the reason why we keep on hearing this news that most of the newbies have quit doing trading because of the reason that they suffer a huge loss due to panic selling. There is no other better thing that you being an owner of bitcoin can do at the time when the prices are falling and down and that just keep calm and hold your bitcoins. There is no point of getting worried and making such kind of foolish decisions.

There are a lots of things to do depending on your current position.

1. Sell low and buy lower if you have no more free Btc to buy cheaper alts and you have the premonition that alts will go deeper.

2. Buy more to even out your price.

3. If you are in btc convert to usdt if it's the btc price that is falling.

Yes.If the price of bitcoin is reduced to low value means, you have to hold the coin and better avoid of panic selling to low value. If the price of bitcoin is getting low means, just brought huge amount of bitcoin. We all know ,the bitcoin price again will raise. So buy more bitcoin when the price is getting high.Don't do selling.

Price flactuation is an ordinary thing even to any other kind of
currencies. For me theres no need to panic in selling your bitcoin in fact if the price is falling you have to gain more bitcoin and have it sold the time that the price bounce up agian.

Hello. I have a folio of BTC, ETH, NEO and some alts. I've been watching at Bitcoin since 2015 but bought only at this summer (and the last move was quite bad, I bought some BTC for $4600). I try to study, watch vids, read forum and twitters. Chris Dunn has a vid on the topic but nothing really specific. I'm interested in some ideas about what to do when prices are falling.  Sell alts and hold bitcoin? Short? (and if yes, so the next question is how to learn how to short?).
There are only TWO WISE THINGS to do when the prices of crpytocurrencies are falling. The first thing to do is TO HOLD. Imagine that you've bought a coin at $10, then after some time, its price dropped to $5. There's no point of selling it. As long as that coin has the history of being on the top at some point, then there's nothing to worry about holding it. Cryptocurrencies with high market value and with good history usually has the ability to recover for not more than a month.

The second thing to do when the prices of cryptocurrencies are falling is TO BUY MORE. Again, if you bought a coin at $10 and the price dropped to $5, then you should keep the coins you have already bought and buy more coins of that kind.

This is a strong emotional and mental problem, a person will become weak because he can not control his emotions. such as panic and impatience.
This dangerous emotion is crucial for a trader.

Whenever prices are falling the best thing to do is to hold your coin then hope and pray that it will recover. but still on this phase of the coin it will fall down and will boost up, it is still considered as the beginning of the coin.

Don't panic if the price are falling, just relax and wait until the price back to normal or rise again. You don't have to do any thing or sell it because the price down. We should wait.

Hold tight and wait for it going up again.
I will advise you only one thing at the time when the prices are going down. Like you said, just do nothing and sit quietly while holding your bitcoins very much tightly. Do not think much as more thinking will result in panic selling and this can result in huge loss. If you want to keep your money safe and in order to avoid any kind of loss, you have to control your nerves.

try using a stop loss order. What this does is, you're setting a limit on how much you are willing to lose, for example:

Let's assume that BTC is trading at 5.5k, you buy at that price and hope (obviously) that the price goes up
You can set now a stop loss order (make sure the exchange you're trading from has that feature/options) and set the lowest price you are willing to sell, for example 5.3k
If the price goes below 5.3k, your order will be executed right away, without you having to take any action. Which means you can even be on holiday or not even on your computer (monitoring the prices changes) and it will execute the trade automatically

When the price us falling, it is time use by traders to buy coin. When the price is falling it is not panic time. It is normal, it will really happen because bitcoin or any other digital currency out there has no fix price. Good thing when its price increase but quite bad when it goes down especially when someone needs money. But it is the nature of this currencies go up, go down, it is not possible to just goes up. Just accept it. When the price is falling there is nothing else to do but to wait for it to increase again. But the thing is we do not know how long will it takes to increase.

Well, learn to buy when the price is falling sometimes we are more emotional when price is  falling their are sone of us panics and sell already their bitcoins or alts because they are afraid that maybe the price will fall more. The main reason why some holders broke it is because they are panicking and sell it already. You must know that bitcoin has a great potential in the coming future.

When prices are falling should be patient first do not panic and do not rush to sell, better wait for the price to go back and believe that the price will definitely rise again
Dip is the test of our patience. Life tests a person and then give him the prize if he passes in that assessment. A failure does not deserve any reward. Therefore, during the fall, we must show patience and stay calm because every storm has to pass away. Much better is to take advantage of such situation by increasing the amount of asset. This is what real investors do and become rich.

Very well said. It is just right to treat any dump as an advantage to buy more since if its price came back to normal or became higher, there will surely be a big profit. There should be no room for panic selling since it will just cause bigger problems and, from my own experience, loss opportunity. We should just remain calm and clear our mind so that we may not make any wrong decisions that is base on bad judgement and unwise thinking.

We should just remain calm and clear our mind so that we may not make any wrong decisions that is base on bad judgement and unwise thinking.

we will not be able to calm down when the price comes down with negative rumors, many people panic if the downtrend more than a month, altcoin will also be hit and will fall more severe, I patiently restrained him but eventually always stuck in panic and sell some of them.

To my view point if the bitcoin price falls it is good to buy more and invest for more betterment and wait for a hike, falling price can be taken as a positive one.I don't believe that the price will  decrease too low in this present digital world , we can wait and see what happens next.
Falling prices is usually meant to be a good one. In as much as we do not want weaker hands, there is no way we can end up doing without them and that is when it is just perfect to buy into their fears. That is how I see it anyway just like you have said. Things are changing and time will come when it will start getting pretty hard to see very huge drops except few corrections here and there.

Think fast.  You need to be able to figure quickly why it is falling and is it going to come back.  BTC drops based on this and that rumor sets and always comes back, is this true for the coin you have now that is dropping?  The thing that some people forget is that they have already made money on a coin, not always true, but often forgotten.  They buy a coin, do this and that and make a tidy bit of profit as it rises, then freak out and make this and that guess as it drops.
