At 5:44:14am PST this morning, the eBTC community was blindsided from what seemed to be a hack. Our founder, Satoshi21 first deleted himself from the eBTC team chat. Then systematically deleted eBTC's Medium post, our website, and Twitter. While we believe this to be completely out of character for Satoshi21, we also need to believe that we are under attack and there is a minute possibility that it was all planned from the onset. As such, we, the eBTC team is mobilizing to figure out which plan of action would be best for our community and how to regain trust.

As a team we were in the late stages of finalizing and paying 32eth (from the team's collective pockets) for a swap of all tokens through Merkator (spelling), to close the origin wallet infinite coin vulnerability. Unfortunately, Satoshi21 was the only one with access. Since we cannot gain entry, we need to create an entirely new contract/product.

Seeing this unfortunate chain of events, our team, which is intact believes we can create an entirely new product and add benefit to current tokens holders. It's perfectly natural to panic and we were too, until we figured as a team, we can do something to protect our community.

Yeah, there's no reason to trust the project after what happened, but those in the community who still believe in our team and community--hold on tight. We plan to make it right, but it's going to take some time. Please be patient with us as we go where no token project has gone before. We will continue to update as necessary.

Burned by EBTC and HEXTRACoin, wow, this is a real red October for me, glad I didn't put to much in neither project.  WOW just WOW!!!

From now on, if they don't have a real application, that is up and running right now at this moment that makes money, I will no longer be supporting ICOs or even Dream Projects like this.

From the first day I felt very sorry for those calling $10 and stuff on a project without even a roadmap. Surely it's a good concept but without a serious group of devs I don't put even a dime. Y'know, I think the smart contract flaw that made me sell wasn't a mistake, given his behaviour I think the plan was to create himself some extra eBTC and dump it when it was worth something.

Yes you are goddamn right, that goddamn Reddit was right, that fucking fud was right, those goddamn newbies were right! I sold it for around 350 usd bought it again at 2700 sathoshi now selling at much less price.

When I sold it for 350$ I thought how idiot I am that selling at such low price. Now I realize that the really idiotic thing was buying this crap again. Bs anyway I will keep cursing myself for few days for this mistake.

But life goes...

I sold at 42c and got over a grand as soon as I saw the smart contract error. I was extremely lucky, so I don't have a right to be angry, but I still feel burned.

I kept my mouth shut and just left the eBTC community quietly because I had a family member with eBTC (though I urged him to sell he wanted to hodl)and I liked the community that had grown around it and didn't want to cause dumping. I'm actually ashamed and embarrassed that I didn't shout from the rooftops how bad that "mistake" was.

An Ethereum token as simple as eBTC takes no great skill to create, the fact that he fucked it up shows incompetence or malice.

I want to see working tech from now on, stuff that's ready out of the box, no promises, no great ideas that sound implausible , just stuff that fucking works and is worth something, any sign of incompetence and I'm out.

So, what the devil happened here then!? I’ve been lurking these forums for months now and this is the first time I’ve ever been compelled to voice an opinion on anything but this whole saga is Kerazy! Does anyone know what the realistic potential of the community being able to restablish some worth to the project without the potential of the ingots creation loop or whatever it’s being called being exploited by the original dev if/when it gets back on its feet at all? I only invested in ebtc as a first time venture with using EtherDelta and have less than a hundred tokens so I’m not hugely invested but I was excited by the spirit that was created by the project. Anyone wiser than me care to detail a few hypothetical best/worst case scenarios from here on out?

This coin is a pure scam , the owner have trillions of it , they airdropped 20M to start the pump and then start buying after gettling listed on CoinMarketCap. Then the FOMO does the rest. Its a fucking SCAM. So yes if you had some airdrop or bought early you can make some money , but most of the people getting in late will LOSE A TON.
