Thanks for the information. Can you tell me what version of boost you're using? I noticed some stuff in gdb that might have to do with boost. E.g wrong version, or in other words it should been a compiler macro in the code to fix this if it's a issue with the boost version.

Thanks!

I found a bug and corrected it, unsure if that is the same bug you're experience. Please try the last code from github. https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin

Anyway, I resynced on OSX and Linux x64 without problems now after the fix. And the RPC didn't stop answering  Smiley

Nice Smiley I will point a miner to it when I'm home. I will still try to figure out what made it freeze doh.

Hmm, maybe it's because of the version change in the client. I'll check it out  Smiley

There is nothing that forces people to use the coin on the darknet. Therefore that is not a feature.

First of all - I think this is a great idea and congrats to the dev(s) for getting this out there... Second,
I plan to release Torcoin within the next month which will do just that...

No sorry, I'm guessing it's ready when the protocol switch. The last commits where OSX related.

Edit: I'm running the daemon on OSX 10.7.5. No problems compiling using dependencies from homebrew/ports.

Thanks. This coin lives for the most on I2P which is designed to be a internal network, not a proxy network like TOR. But it have also some nodes in TOR. The reason this coin prefer I2P is that TOR has a centralized bootstrap, while I2P is decentralized. I2P also uses two tunnels for a single tcp connection, one in and one out. The reason this coin allows clearnet is mining. The latency of mining over TOR/I2P could be high from time to time, and won't attract serious miners. The main feature for this coin now is the native I2P support, e.g:

  (from getpeerinfo)

And more will come. There will also be a Android wallet with a embedded I2P router where all traffic is routed trough I2P.

Anyway, if you're interested in darknets, you should read this: http://www.i2p2.de/how_networkcomparisons.html

Good luck to you and your coin! Send me a PM if you change your mind about creating a new alt coin, then you maybe fit good in our team  Smiley

Client update!

New windows builds are out. This time it's a static build to correct the runtime errors. If you have experienced the runtime error, please try this release! We also passed block 15420 and switched protocol without problems  Grin

This release also includes some optional fixes in the client, e.g if I2P is enabled it will drop dnsseed over internet. The checkpoints are also updated.

Note if you still use the first release, you must upgrade now. The protocol has switched and you will be unable to receive new blocks until you have upgraded.

I believe the exchange is new as it's still such a low volume on most coins on there. Heard of it today when they announced ANC was added. Low volume or not, since they've gone through the trouble adding it, we will for sure be using it Grin
