Hello ANC Dev Team  Grin

First of all I want to thank you guys for all the great work you are doing with this coin. I truly believe ANC will flourish if it continues down its current path. With that being said, I wanted to share some of my thoughts.

What happens when the hard limit of 4.2 million coins is reached? I didn't read anything about transaction fees, and the coin is not Proof of Stake, so what is the plan to sustain the network? I know that reaching the hard limit is far off in the future, and changes could be made to the code for tx fees, but I just want to know what you guys have in mind.

Sincerely,
myner

and the coin is not Proof of Script
Proof of Work with the Scrypt algorithm. It's based on Litecoin which also uses the Scrypt Proof of Work algorithm. Smiley
I'm interested in Zerocoin implementation news. Any updates? Smiley

There may still be hope for the 1st decentralized cryptocurrency which is Bitcoin. How to approach different subjects is key to progress.

Whoops! Yeah, sorry, I meant Proof of Stake. I wrote that post right before I went to sleep. Sorry for that. I am aware of what Proof of Work is, and what Proof of Stake is.

Are there ways to earn this coin without mining, maybe by writing?

Stop posting the same shit over and over in every single thread.

If this coin doesn't have an alternative for people that can't mine, just say so. No need for senseless hostility.

guys I have been trying to mine anoncoin for some time now... Where can I find proper instructions for doing it.. I have tried several miners, conf settings, solomining, poolmining.. nothing seems to work.. I have put a lot of time an energy on this, Now I need you help..
I have been trying a lot of different miners and so on..
the pools I have tried are poolcoin.in and anc.usr.io    I get connected to both, but I dont' get anything from them//
I really want to support anoncoin, but so far  I have only lost time and energy.. :/

Seems like you're missing the --scrypt parameter in cgminer. Start it from command line like this;
Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt

I think the hostility came from the fact that you were using two posts instead of one across severall coin threads for posting the exact same thing. But maybe someone can in fact post some bounties for you. Who knows. But usually the alternative to mining is plain old buying - just invest your energy elsewhere where you actually get paid, the internet or altcoin forum usually pays you pennies just like scam sites where you view youtube videos or click ad links for 0,00001 cents. I'd rather think of money in terms of time invested and get some money elsewhere and invest it in anoncoin if I were you.

A Big Thank oyu to the dev team, ANC is the one and only coin which didnt fail!
I guess it has one important advantage, it has an extra value over others (the anonfeature + scarce)
I have invested in a lot of altcoins including the promising XPM,DGC,MEG,WDC which all lost thier value in more or less percentage.

It is still a good investment. Due the altcoin spamming i guess ANC is still under the Radar of most people.

Anoncoin 0.8.5.2 is now in the release candidate state. We're building new builds for Windows, Linux and Mac OS X after a day or two with testing and quality assurance.

Source: https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin
Pull request https://github.com/Anoncoin/anoncoin/pull/9

Note: Because of a change in the blockchain store, users using 0.8.3.7 must delete the blockchain and resync when upgrading to 0.8.5.2

This seems to be a problem with the cgminer or graphic drivers. Please try reinstalling your graphic drivers. Also, maybe try another version of the cgminer. But remember to set the --scrypt flag! Also, read up on what's the recommended cgminer parameters for your graphic card. This is not Anoncoin spesific, but a global scrypt coin thing.

weird, the hashing stops when I use --scrypt.. without that parameter it starts hashing.. any ideas?/
