According to a newsletter from The James Altucher Report, Amazon will soon begin accepting Bitcoin, which they will officially announce as early as October 26th during their earnings conference call.
It's November. Yep, and they aren't going to accept it anytime soon haha.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

The main thing is that this idea would not be a novelty, but it was realized. I'm waiting for a big bitcoin capitalization next year. For Amazon, this is a big step in the direction of the trend.

Don't understand why anyone would buy anything with bitcoin given the fees and upward trend. Seems like throwing away money to me

I guess the fees will decrease with segwit full support and lightning network implementation. It will soon be possible to buy coffee with bitcoin

Though this is some sort of speculation, it may still happen. This is one of the best way to use and take advantage of bitcoins since amazon had always transaction and orders done online and bitcoins can only be access online also.It is not far that other site would also do the same if someone starts to use it a method of payment.

For Amazon to accept bitcoin as payment, it would give bitcoin a huge boost in recognition as a world wide method of payment. This would almost solidify and cement bitcoin to stay as a means of payment and not fade away.

So far its useless to say this untill its not announced officially. If amazon allow users to pay through bitcoins then i guess the price of bitcoin will go beyond 12k $. May be some sellers can accept bitcoins personally.

Great news! Once amazon stars accepting BTC as payment, more people would actually use BTC and not just trade it in for dollars.
Yeah, I would love it if BTC was easily spendable and didn't require me to jump through so many hoops just to buy something. Hopefully we'll be able to buy stocks and real estate with crypto too soon. Yes, that’s very good the top ranking store is accepting it and this will attract more user toward bitcoin. Also, many of other stores will follow amazon’s trend and this happened just because bitcoin has so impressive profit rate that amazon administration think that it will give them huge profit and receiving payment in such a valuable coin whose price increase $400 per day is very beneficial so wait and see the bitcoin magic.

A huge step for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole. If it will become official then I would be very pleased, as I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon. It would also let me put my bitcoins to test, to get the taste of purchasing something with them.

What Amazon is doing, accepting bitcoin as payment, have added to the growing popularity of crypto currency. This increasing demand can only make bitcoin expand more in other companies in the future. Hopefully by the end of the year, more companies will adapt bitcoin because it would be the season where people expend most. This can help us bitcoin users to use our coins more.

It's November. Yep, and they aren't going to accept it anytime soon haha. This is nothing actually. I think this is just a way for the visitors of this thread to click on the link and have it well-read. Another subtle ploy to bait people here. Amazon could accept Bitcoin. It simply means that there is a possibility that Amazon would do that but it is not definite. And for all we know, possibilities are unlimited. It could also mean as much as Amazon will not accept Bitcoin at all.

It is going to big challenge for Bitcoin and Amazon because directly it won't accept Bitcoin. Amazon is a big e-commerce company it should accept under regulation of the government only.

I don't think amazon should support bitcoin payments because I haven't seen the news so far. The U.S. government should also not allow that to happen.

Definitely it is a Rumor, I heard this story for almost a year but not find any legal announcement from Amazon till now. skip this rumor and stay calm. Actually the price of btc is externally volatile and not usable in Amazon. If we want to buy products in future from Amazon through BTC then surely we will need to pay a huge amount of btc for buying anything.

If amazon starts accepting bitcoin i'm selling everything I own there and if I need to buy anything use only fiat. Don't understand why people would part with a single satoshi when cash is less valuable.
