Heard that bitcoin transaction fee is so high lately. For this reason, it is difficult for amazon to accept bitcoin as buyers do not want to pay $20 transaction fee for $20 or $50 purchase...

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Yes, this is the start. Bitcoin reaches all over the world due to its drastic value gain from last few months. Peoples interest in bitcoin is incresing and hence company like amazon which is internet retailer take decision towards flow. As bitcoin is the digital currency and open to all, so it is thread to connect world. So most of merchant and retailers accepting bitcoin.
Thats a great news.

if this happen i think it would be better. aside of fast transaction you don't have to need to buy some gift cards and you can also avoid scammers.

Because of the high volatility of bitcoin, many companies do not want to accept it as payment, Steam did not refuse to accept payment in bitcoins for a long time because of this.

Gonna be huge for Bitcoin if it's true. Could this be the reason of today slight price rise? Amazon is the biggest e-commerce in the world, we can finally say that Bitcoin is going mainstream when Amazon accepts it. This could be just another rumor but I really hope it's true.

What's the biggest company that accept Bitcoin right now? I guess it would be Steam and Microsoft, right?

Steam has just dropped it.

The same goes for Amazon: there is a long way from "Amazon accepts it" to "I can buy something on Amazon". The problem is that you really cannot efficiently pay with bitcoin, actually as the things are today you cannot pay with bitcoin at all. The fees are outragous, like 20-30USD, and if you choose smaller fees you are stuck with your transaction for weeks.

So don't get too excited guys.

They made just the right move because look at Steam. All of businesses needs stability to be able to make it work and bitcoin is very volatile so they won't suit each other. But don't worry it will happen when its price is too expensive to rise and fall dramatically.

In my book price volatility is not a big deal. Actually for micropayments it is not a problem if the price changes even 10%, it is a few cents, and for larger transactions your payment processor does the job for you.

Steam went from BTC to LTC but LTC is very volatile too

The real problem is that the network is congested to the point it is stuck. LTC you can use, but I predict that when it gets as popular as bitcoin is now, it will get stuck too with its own congestion. I am really worried about all crypto ecosystem.

Amazon accepting bitcoin will mark the beginning of bitcoin to limelight. However, this news seems like rumour and it's there has been no official statement from Amazon.

Further rumors are surfacing that Amazon will announce a Bitcoin-related innovation Thursday, as a German newspaper fuels speculation. While multiple other midsize operators have since engaged with Bitcoin, Amazon’s participation would still be a first-of-its-kind move.

If this is true then it is amazing. Making payments through bitcoin in Amazon makes everything easier. Although there would be a lot of scam. I hope they are already prepared for this.

Is it true?? If it is true, then great news for Amazon as well as for Amazon users. It is a well-known fact that Amazon is the largest online shopping website works all over the world, so for online shopping bitcoin users can use their coins for shopping and all, if it is true amazing news for all of us.

I heard about this on the news quite recently.  Apparently Amazon and overstock are in advanced phases of talks/development on how to incorporate crytpo.  Overstock actually stating that they might accept all crypto's, not sure how this will work though.  Should Amazon start accepting Bitcoin as a payment, it would be a game changer.  I think that perhaps it's still a long way off though, volatility, tx fees and decentralization are just a few of the concerns that have to be resolved before this can happen.

That is very good idea because it will open a lot of privileges and positive things. Because Amazon is a big online shop company and its famous so if it will link to bitcoin. Bitcoin will be more famous too and boost its popularity.

The fee is extremely high and it poses a major issue for the Bitcoin users. A few hours back, the average fee needed for instant confirmation was going at close to 600 Sat/Byte. One viable option would be to use a third party payment processor such as Coinbase or BitPay. Coinbase to Coinbase transfer fee is very low.
