I think I own about 6-7%, I don't know anyone that has more than 9% of total outstanding coins.

That's awesome!

Would the devs here seriously consider cutting the inflation [subsidy] and dilution [Max Supply] in the next code update?

It would really help increase shareholder value the next time demand picks up.  Exactly like a corporation doing a stock BuyBack.

I think it's a good move for any coins to do as it improves their valuation profile for new investors whom are investing savvy, and we'll get millions of these types over the next couple years.

That and a currency's value is determined by the following Formula:  Transaction Volume/Velocity + 1/Supply

Therefore:  To increase the value of FlorinCoin we need to either increase the tx volume, decrease velocity or decrease the coin supply.

The only one which can be done now, at zero cost and with significant [immediate] impact is reducing the supply.

I truly hope the devs take this proposal into consideration before the next wave of investors hit cryptos, probably starting in September [next month].

Cheers!

Hi

The Florincoin reward halving is not too far off, so this will naturally decrease supply without any changes.

That's better than nothing.  What is the next halving going from what to what and how many more days?  I hope it takes effect before the next boom which looks like it is starting to happen as we speak.

Lower inflation does wonders for a currency's value.

Cheers!

About 100,000 blocks (about 46 days) from now until reward halving.

It does a reindex on your old block chain, so a resync might be quicker.

Remember to backup before upgrading.

Flo is no pump and dump. if you want fast money you can reduce the total supply. but as I understand the dev. they are here for the long run. keep it like it is, and keep doing the awesome work you guys are doing Smiley If you want value to last, it has to come naturally.

Hey all,

I will be presenting a new open-source project that is based on the Florincoin blockchain at the Inside Bitcoins conference in Las Vegas this weekend and early next week. The purpose of the project is to back up cultural knowledge, market data, and other important info into the Blockchain as well as a bittorrent-type system to preserve data integrity and distribute information. This encourages freedom of speech, reduces the risk of centralized control of data, and makes it easier to find important research data without having to scour the internet for sources which may or may not be reliable or even online any more.

The Florincoin blockchain is utilized for not only data storage, but for proof-of-publication and node coordination as well.

The project is free to use and multi-platform, the beta should be out soon enough and we will be displaying it at our booth at Inside Bitcoins, where I will be answering questions and giving out beta passes to those interested in testing the software before it's released.

If you've been following my github, or the @Official_Florin twitter, there are some hints as to what the project will entail.

Before the project is launched I should also have a released new Mac wallet and some bugfixes to the Florincoin client that are 100% my responsibility and are long overdue (since this project has consumed my life)!

Later down the line, I have a few graphics artists and game designers interested in making a Florincoin-based game, something like deckbound but not promising a guaranteed 130% return (?). If you haven't read my whitepaper on turn-based gaming in the blockchain, check it out here: florincoin.org/game.

Thanks everyone,

metacoin

Fellow krypto hoomernz, I come in peace from over at Unobtanium.

First, I am embarrassed that I can't offer you a fat bounty; but we have some stuff goin' on that might well interest you, and that Sky Angel might understand (muchmuchmuch) better than us:

we are gonna experiment with a 'micro currency' backed 'in-house' (on Un-Ex, our in-house exchange) by silver bullion. At first it will be 'non-cryptographic' -- kept on a 'Register.' But could we add a transaction messages that would supersede the Register?

I have 48 connections active on the Block Explorer (ports open), and 2 connections on my personal computer.

Have you updated your addnodes list? (I have to do this too!)
