Hm.. bots trading on cryptsy? Between 1-5 MEC every 15-30 seconds. Been going on for hours, all for the same price.

Someone correct me, but I think it's the bigger pools like Multipool/Middlecoin dumping.

You're probably right. I should actually set up my cryptsy with my miner too.. not for selling though, just auto deposit.

Why would you want to deposit MEC into cryptsy?  I only withdraw MEC from cryptsy...

Same here. I only use Cryptsy to move MEC that I buy to my wallet.  The only place secure enough for my MEC is my wallet, or encrypted wallet on 3 or 4 flash drives, and an optical backup. I predict there will be a lot of sad tales about selling MEC at these rock bottom prices.

I can only figure some people are desperate for money (quite possible in this economy), or a lot of kids that think 3 or 4 Bitcoins is a lot of money.

I've made a few large sales...but only on spikes with the intent to buy back in when things dropped back down (which I did every time.) At this point, I think you'd have to be crazy (or clueless) to sell period -- things are still bouncing around a bit but before you know it things are going straight up and never looking back. Not even worth the risk to sell as far as I'm concerned (even for the chance to make a few points -- it might not happen.)

Assuming this difficulty adjustment is as smooth as it appears, things are going to be rocking. When it gets down to 25 coins/block and the price is creeping past FTC levels, people are going to start kicking themselves. If Zerocoin is implemented as well, and a few more services pop up, we're looking at an insane amount of potential; I don't think a $1 target is unreasonable in that scenario. I think LTC prices are a bit out of reach at this point simply because so many people are heavily invested in LTC and missed the boat (or, I should say, are missing the boat) on Megacoin. Many of the larger, stubborn investors will hold out to protect their investment in LTC. I think it's important to keep things in perspective...but I say with confidence that Megacoin offers more potential than any other coin at this point (and especially at this price.) You'd have to be pretty desperate for money to still be selling.

Megacoin is already #15 on the crypto market cap list...and it's still recovering from the bump in the road during the last halving (not to mention Megacoin is fairly new, comparatively.) With the difficulty tweak, there isn't a doubt in my mind it will be in the top-10 by the end of the month. Crazy to think I was buying MΣC at 0.000035 BTC just a week ago!

I agree , however I would argue that the debacle at the last halving with the uber high diff stuck from multi pools caused a panic sell and thanks to the strength of btc rising, no money came back. MEC did hold it's value well during btc rise so I believe not that a pump is occuring but rather a price correction from the last halving.

I happen to really like crypty's interface. It makes it super easy to see how much my altcoins are worth in BTC.
I guess I'm not as paranoid about losing them as you guys. Smiley

Check out Cryptsy's MEC orderbook (snapshot from earlier today)

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/orderbook.php?pair=mec-btc&market=cryptsy

Doesn't look like MEC sellers will have any problem finding a buyer.

ROFL...

kimoto, I really love the client.  It is by far the best one out there.  I would like to offer a suggestion, which would add to the client.  It would be great to export the transaction list to .xls to view as a spreadsheet.  This would be especially helpful for businesses who will accept Megacoin in the future.

I don't think anyone is buying too fast. My problem is I can't buy fast enough. There are less than 1450 blocks to the next reduction. No doubt in my mind The Kimoto Gravity Well will work as planned. The smart money is buying now. Wake me up when MEC hits .007 and I might buy a pizza or something.  Wink For now I think you would have to be pretty clueless to be a seller. Per bholzer's conjecture, I think the odds are excellent that Megacoin will be sitting above FTC soon. I also agree catching LTC will  be a very big job, and take time. But with a successful Zerocoin implementation it wouldn't surprise me to see MEC rapidly become the most popular investment grade coin.

Well since the last available download of new wallet set off my Antivirus (AVAST) and the website that scans it (links posted below) said it was cleared.. i obviously have a problem downloading it when my AV says no and some guy on chat says yes..

Today I went to check.. and I try to download the new wallet and its not available.. page cannot be displayed when trying to download it.  I am sorry to say all this is too suspicious for me.. will try again in a few days till all lights go green.. anyone else might want to be careful as something strange with the download is going on.. again .. "trust no one"...

this is what that guy posted but my antivirus (even thought its in the scanned green list) still says its VIRUS. All these below say clean yet mine said no.. and not available now..you all might want to be a bit more careful.. and its not minerd.exe (miner flagged) but its a WALLET.. don't compare apples and oranges.. they are not the same.  I need a lot of proof to make an exception to a "false positive" and someone saying its good in a reply doesn't cut it.. Below is what that guy said was good .. but yet its no longer available..i dunno .. and to say again .. this is the FIRST wallet i have that has set off my antivirus when trying to download and now its not available.. those that gave it an exception may want to check themselves.  I believe my antivirus is still blocking the download.. that's why its unavailable to me.
