Why is there no(little) developer support for this coin?

  • Questions go unanswered.
  • There is fatal flaw in megadice where coins get sent to the wrong address
  • There is no irc room for better involvement of discussion of development ideas.
  • Long terms plans either do not exist or are secretive.

Here is an example of a dev team supporting their coin by good communication.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=309716.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.0

I own a fair amount and I am done buying at this point until the above improves significantly.

CHARLIE: After I finished my paper route, I was in front of
Kimoto's. There was this strange man there. I think he was
a tinker. He was standing right behind me, looking up at
the factory. Just before he left he said, "Nobody ever goes
in, and nobody ever comes out."

GRANDPA JOE: And right he was, Charlie. Not since the
tragic day that Kimoto Chan locked it.

CHARLIE: Why'd he lock it?

GRANDPA JOE: Because all the other coin makers in the
world were sending in spies--dressed as workers!--to steal
Dr. Kimoto's secret recipes. Especially Hazw3rth. . . oh,
that Hazw3rth, he was the worst! Finally Dr. Kimoto
shouted, "I shall be ruined! Close the factory!" And
that's just what he did. He locked the gates and vanished
completely. And then suddenly, about three years later, the
most amazing thing happened. The factory started working
again, full blast! And more delicious candies were coming
out than ever before. But the gates stayed locked so that
no one, not even Mr. Hazw3rth, could steal them.

CHARLIE: But Grandpa, someone must be helping Dr. Kimoto work
the factory.

GRANDPA JOE: Thousands must be helping him.

CHARLIE: But who? Who are they?

GRANDPA JOE: That is the biggest mystery of them all.

well at no point did i hate on Megacoin at all, i simply said i have a decent size investment in it and would like to contribute to the development effort, but I am discouraged by the little communication and team involvement by Kimoto.

There is no public GitHub for the source, but the source is available from the SourceForge page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/megacoin/files/megacoin-0.8.996-source.zip/download

If you would like to contribute to Megacoin in anyway, please do so Smiley Post your code snippets here or in a PM to Kimoto himself.  The Doctor has been known to respond.  Is this as easy as a simple pull request on GitHub? No, but it is a start.  Kimoto is not always the most timely, but he has delivered in every way up until this point Smiley

To those that talked about a secret club of Megacoin insiders: no.  There are several members within the community actively working on projects that have yet to be announced.  For example, darkproton drops in every once in awhile to tease a project he is working on and ethought is working on a payment processor.  Alienwalkerx is placing ads all over the internet, including Hazard's blog (I'm sure he appreciates the support Wink ), MobGod was working out the specifications to a physical coin, and vtr99 is trying to get jackets ordered.  The Megacoin community welcomes all.  So take a seat, chat a little, and post a few gifs Smiley

Speaking of jackets, I wouldn't be opposed to the higher quality version, but I am a go for either one.

Pull out of ur ass Kimoto dick and shit all the useless coins he has cumed into ur mouth! Thank me later bitch
If this is the way other communities behave, why would we want to be a any part of them?

On one hand you have the autistic replies and cold dead humour of the people coming into this forum who are not supporters and trying to throw rocks at eachother. On the other is this community you can see donating, joking, posting gifs, starting services, discussing next projects and you say 'cult-like' because you are jealous of not being involved in the community. "A few of you are closer to kimoto and know the secrets1!!11" jealous much?

You think kimoto is going to post a 12 month timeline now? In this thread? Litecoin only just tried to post theirs after 2 years in development.
You think he would want to with all these trolls coming in to knock down ANYTHING he posts? Only now are people starting to look at the gravity-well because Anoncoin agreed it is a step in the right direction.

You can PM kimoto and he will respond about megacoin. But I guess you didn't try that before whining in this forum did you?
You can PM ethought and he will repsond about megadice. But I guess you didn't try that before whining in this forum did you?

You can see the megacoin community isn't actively trying to bait anyone in here to buy coins and leave them with the bag, or give anyone the koolaid, yet you ensist of screaming 'cult!'

This is the unofficial forum of megacoin. Do you realize that?

There is a source on sourceforge.

There is no point discussing projects with megacoin open to this forum as it has shown to affect adoption and fuel hate down the line because someone told you it was a 'hurm' wallet stealer and you put off getting some coins now you come back screaming 'cult cult' 'they are having too much fun'

"SHUT ER DOWN"

TV NEWSMAN: And now, details on the sudden announcement that
has captured the attention of entire world.  Hidden among
the countless billions of Kimoto Bars are 42 Million Red Megacoins.
And to the people who find them will come the most
fabulous prize one could wish for: a lifetime supply of
megacoins.

8. BUCKETS' HOUSE

TV NEWSMAN (on TV): (continuous) And as if this were not
enough, each winner before he receives his prize will be
personally escorted through the top secret megacoin factory
. . .

GRANDMA JOSEPHINE: (on "escorted") They're all crazy!

GRANDPA JOE: Sssshhh!  The man's a genius!  He'll sell a
million bars.

TV NEWSMAN: (continuous) . . . by the mythical Dr. Kimoto
himself.  The amount of sweet MΣC involved in this
competition has relighted*** the imagination to incite***
crypto candy eaters and all citizens around the world.

CHARLIE: (on "involved") Grandpa, do you think I've got a
chance to find one?

GRANDPA JOE: One?  I'm counting on you to find all 42 Million!

CHARLIE: One's enough for me.

Thanks kimoto.

This gives incite on the lack of posts around here and gives me further confidence to try and unwrap all of those Kimoto bars.

Dr Kimoto-Chan: But Charlie, don't forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted.
Charlie Bucket: What happened?
Dr Kimoto-Chan: He lived happily ever after.

Looking forward to the scratch-and-sniff megacoin wallet.

Oompa, Loompa, doo-pa-dee-doo
I have a perfect puzzle for you
Oompa, Loompa, doo-pa-dee-dee
If you are wise, you'll listen to me

What do you do when you miss all those coins?
waiting for kimoto's post, so you can rejoin
What are you at missing every cap?
What do you think will come of that?

I don't like the look of it

You will live in happiness too

hazw3rth.  Cheesy
Oompa, Loompa, doo-pa-dee-doo
I have another puzzle for you
Oompa, Loompa, doo-pa-da-dee
If you are wise, you'll listen to me

Shit posting's fine when it's once in a while
It stops you from thinking and brightens your smile
But it's repulsive, revolting, and wrong
shit posting and posting all day long

The way that a Hazw3rth does

Oompa, Loompa, doo-pa-dee-da
Given good manners, you will go far
You will live in happiness too
Like the Oompa Loompa doo-pa-dee-do

Huh?

Just hang on to that ticket for dear life!

Round the world and home again
That's the sailor's way
Faster faster, faster faster
There's no earthly way of knowing
Which direction we are going
There's no knowing where we're rowing
Or which way the river's flowing
Is it raining, is it snowing
Is a hurricane a-blowing
Not a speck of light is showing
So the danger must be growing
Are the fires of Hell a-glowing
Is the grisly reaper mowing
Yes, the danger must be growing
For the rowers keep on rowing
And they're certainly not showing
Any signs that they are slowing

GRANDPA GEORGE: There's plenty of money out there. They print more every day. But this Megacoin, there's only forty two million of them in the whole world, and that's all there's ever going to be. Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money. Are you a dummy?

I'm not confused, but I would be if I tried to understand what all the Oompa Loompa babble is about. Song and dance in a thread about the coin that's going to replace World Economy?! Well, okay. Might as well have fun along the Anyway.

Buy MEC while it is cheap!

A few Bitcoins will get you a really nice little stash of MΣC right now.  Grin

99.9% chance MΣC will be worth more in 3 months than it is now.
