Just so you guys know...I'm still alive and we're still working on our Megacoin project. I'd like to say it'll be launching this week...but I hate to give an ETA because I'm sure I'll end up missing the target. Outside of my day job, it's been a major focus for me over the past few weeks. I'll probably roll features out in waves instead of trying to do everything at once.

As soon as that project is wrapped up, I'll get those hoodies ordered. When I've got them in-hand, I'll PM everybody in this thread that was interested with the invoices (can pay with either PayPal, Megacoin, or a mix of both if you'd prefer) and get them shipped out. I'll contact vtr99 before I move forward on that...and I'll likely order a few extras to toss up for sale on my website in case anybody missed out on the discussion.

I think we're sitting pretty good here. Of course Megacoin took a hit along with all of the other altcoins...but honestly we came out of it not much worse for wear (especially compared to some other altcoins -- ugh!) The Megacoin price has barely budged in USD and it even held steady vs BTC longer than any other altcoin, to my knowledge. Network speed is also steady...made even more impressive by the reward reduction occurring in the middle of all of this. Typically, you'd expect to see a dip with the profit-hoppers jumping ship. That's the amazing thing about Megacoin -- the profitability is always toward the top...but even when there are more profitable coins to mine the network speed stays pretty steady. Megacoin miners are dedicated...and average network speed is 4th among scrypt coins (behind only LTC, FTC, and NVC which have been around much longer and have had a lot more exposure.)

People didn't want to miss out on the Bitcoin "never-look-back rise to $10,000" and started dumping all of their alts in buckets so they wouldn't miss out. Rumors were swirling, everybody was freaking out about China getting involved, etc. Once the Bitcoin frenzy chills out (like it always does) most alts will start climbing back up...and I think MΣC has a great shot at being a top mover (for a number of reasons.) In this market (and really, most markets) the best move is almost always the opposite of what emotions are telling you to do. Smart traders take emotions out of the equation. Emotional traders see altcoins dropping...panic at the thought of losing everything they've worked for...panic about potentially missing out on billions of dollars in Bitcoin profit...and start dumping. This was a long, steady hit and early dumpers came out fine in this case...but now that the dust has settled...this is a great opportunity to buy EVERYTHING. I'm all-in on Litecoins and Megacoins right now and have liquidated quite a bit of my BTC to make some trades (mostly for Litecoins...but only because of easy access.) If there was a higher-volume exchange that was a bit more stable than Cryptsy...I'd be buying up MΣC like crazy. As it stands now...it's pretty tough to get a decent quantity of it.

Megacoin has a great dev, a great community, and some motivated people dedicated to it. The future is bright; there's a reason I've hitched my wagon to the Megacoin star!

Always good to know we're running on all cylinders.  Grin My feeling is the same as it always is, this is a cycle. The peaks and valleys in this game are big, and I think MΣC is at the bottom of one of those cycles. It is a SUPER bargain right now, and could be ten times it's current price by the time a few services are rolled out. I see room for big growth across the board for high quality Crypto-coins that have a use. The key is going to be what good are they? I think Megacoin is going to have lots of cool answers to that question soon... But that's all wild speculation on my part.  Lips sealed It's surely worth risking a few Bitcoins to be along for the ride. I could very easily see MΣC's market cap at 100 or a 1,000 times current value in a fairly short amount of time.

I wanted to say thanks for all your contributions. And thanks for dealing with the hoodies for all of us.   Cool
As I have hinted, our store is in progress. We have a very busy developer who considers us a charity case.  Roll Eyes But we are moving forward, and hope to have something very cool, very useful, and quite unique to offer in the near future.

If anyone is interested, I have a limited supply of Megacoin bumper stickers available. They are much glossier than the photo shows, and made of heavy vinyl rated for 3 years outdoor use. 400 MΣC for the 1st sticker, shipped between 2 pieces of cardboard. 300 MΣC for each additional sticker. Not looking to make any money, just cover my expenses.
Sure to be a collectors item.  Wink

Seconded. Also, just wanted to let you guys know that I paid someone on fiverr.com to hand out fliers about Megacoin in Toronto. Of course, it being fiverr who knows if they actually passed them out, but they did send me a photo of the stack of fliers so they at least printed them out and it was only a few bucks anyways. Just a little something to raise awareness when I was bored one evening. Tongue

MEC is actually holding up quite well right now even with BTC skyrocketing. Some dumping but the order books are very, very thin on the sell side still (basically only a few BTC away from 10000). MEC could easily slide up the market cap charts into the top 10 with the way all the other alts are tanking. This could be a good opportunity to draw some interest to MEC if we can get the price up a bit.

I'm all tapped out of BTC at the moment but if anyone else wants to take up the task... Tongue

The sell side on most alts is weak, but there isn't someone willing to put 10 btc to boost the price..

Those accumulating won't want a higher price  Wink
