We all have to remember that the bitfunder thing was just sprung  on us without any warning. I would rather LR look at all his options and deciding the best way to go rather than to hurry up and say "we are going to do it this way" and then have to change his mind. I agree, the reason the shares took a dive was because of bitfunder shutting down..

I think if we just let things play out, give it a couple weeks, I think we will be fine. Granted, could have things been handled a little better? sure, but things were done at the last minute..  I have even heard of rumors that someone is buying the btct software so someone else can start something up.. There are options out there for us to buy/sell our shares, LR is looking at the best option.

ITs kind of been a crap sandwich that we had to eat the last week or two but im sure it will get better. Also, I would recommend people that have ideas to publish them here on how to fix some of the issues that we now have to deal with. There are a lot of tech savy people out there that may have a good solution. Or look at what others are doing and make sure that LR knows about them.

The people that are selling at bargain basement prices probably dont want to deal with the unknown. im sure if bitfunder would have given us more time and not locked out us buyers, it would be a lot different.. but it is what it is.. Lets hope we come out stronger than before....

Hey guys haven't tuned in for a few days- its kind of gut wrenching  to keep looking at the value of my portfolio on bitfunder drop everyday.
Question- Is labrat paying dividends manually into our bitfunder account? has anyone received a dividend?

LabRat paid dividends last week to the bitcoin address tied to each account. Check your BF account and
make sure you have a valid bitcoin address set up in it.

Damn! I never updated the bitfunder public address to one I had control of? Where did the default address come from when I opened the account? Ive updated it now but does this mean I have to change something on weexchange? or do I have to re-link bitfunder?

Dividends go to the address registered i guess...so to your bitfunder account address.
So change it now to one you can control and later labrat shares are gone from bitfunder and turned into direct shares.
You need Weexchange only to withdraw your btc from bitfunder.
So leave the boat while its on water...while its sailing Cheesy

It must be possible to circumvent this problem by going through some proxy server outside of the US.  Someone from the US should figure it out and publish it here. This would at least work for the next two weeks.

Pretty unprofessional if you ask me.

Just up and deciding that LR would keep people's div-payouts that "aren't invested enough"?  Bullshit.

Can't be bothered to post information like the need to send a signed message TO THE LRM WEBSITE?  Bullshit.

Take ownership of the issue LR.

One bit of good news is the price of bitcoin is going up with a bit of strength. This will allow for Labrat to buy more hardware with the LRM bitcoins he's been holding. Also, it will give the coins mined from the two weeks withholding - whenever that happens this month - more buying power. So far, about 15% higher bitcoin value. Time will indicate.

There are lot of unanswered questions about future of LRM , what will happen to liquidity of the stock in future when we are off bitfunder , also hashrate per bond doesn't match the bond price now & by the time mh/s per bond goes up difficulty would have offset the increase in MH/s , LRM is lagging behind in race against difficulty .... hope we have more answers from LRM.

Pretty sure a VPN would work for the next couple of weeks - costs about $100. I have used StrongVPN in the past for different reasons ( I am not U.S. based) and they were very good. Although if you have already logged in from the U.S. previously it's possible your account is already tagged U.S. but I highly doubt it.

Is there a way we can trade shares outside BitFunder?

I created this GDocs to do that just in case.

Anyway, I'm willing to sell 130 LRM shares at market price, around 0.07-0.08 BTC. If anyone interested, just PM me.

Unless you have reason to think these one or two people selling a lot of shares has insider information, then don't worry about why they are selling.
These events that have happened lately - like Bitfunder - are not changes in the basic fundamentals of Labrat.

what are the fundamentals of LRM? have you seen a balance sheet or income statement?

Of course I'm not thinking about fundamentals in that sense of detail or transparency.  I would assume most of everyone here knew that Labrat wasn't transparent on financial data. I was making the point that there is no special new information about fundamental information - that could affect revenue - that we already know or have been told.

For example: Labrat hasn't changed any projections in the past couple weeks.  Ordered hardware has had no good or bad updates. Difficulty is going up as always expected. Bitcoin is on the incline, but still in the same ball park as it has been for the past month. So..in THAT SENSE.. fundamentals haven't really changed (much). And seeing a lot of selling doesn't mean any of these (or one's we are not aware of) have necessarily changed - which is why I made that comment.

So, if a person was happy about LRM potential, by what they knew a week ago, then I'd say there is no obvious significant changes to cause one to feel any different now about potential. They'd more likely have to form a new different opinion from the same information.

see my post as to the mathematical projections. That math explains that the drop could have happened without btifunder's problems if investors lost faith in LRM.

In addition to that math (disclosed hashrate projects and difficulty increases) there are big fundamental changes that make people feel different about the potential:
1) people less than 20 shares no longer receive dividends. that is temporary, but such a decision caused a large loss of confidence in management. The shares are worthless without reliable dividends.
2) everyone else has to pay a new fee of a minimum 0.025 per account, perhaps as much as 0.075 per account. again temporary, but investors think it is outrageous and no longer want to be a part of it.
3) transaction fees now have to paid for by investors, and are projected to be 0.0005 per account per week. Small, but investors are losing faith.

Since there are no financial disclosures, board of directors, or real assets, this entire security is based on "trust that zach will buy the right hardware and keep paying dividends." Once the trust is gone, the security isn't based on anything.

EDIT: Although illegal if this was a real security, one could imagine implementing 1-3 above to purposefully drive down the price so you can buy back the proceeds from the hardware yourself. That would be brilliant! Make other people buy you hardware and promise them the proceeds, then drive down the exchangeable price of the hardware, the buy back the rights to dividends below the cost of the hardware!

Do i need to send the mail with verified message only between 22 Oct and 24 Oct or it's OK to send before (i already send, not interested in selling or buying for the moment...)

And LabRat would confirm the reception of the mail (and message validity ) or not ?

I don't want to see my shares lost...

What else do you expect him to do? Your investment is YOUR responsibility to watch and maintain. You don't pay a broker to do that for you (Yet).

It's not like Lab Rat said Hey Ukyo, time to shut this thing down so I can weasle some shares out of people.

There's a lot of whining going on in bitcointalk.org land, less understanding of current situations, and even less brain power to come to logical conclusions.

That last statement is a broad one and not directly stated at you fractal, but it's time people took responsibility. Some complaints are valid (Like the Share Fee) but most are just people clawing and scratching at the uncertainty of their unregulated shares/bonds.

"What else do you expect him to do?"

I expect crytal clear communication, not more, not less.

Situation is complex.
Even complex if no or bad communication. (LabRat have a good communication, is a good point)

I'm just worried about email confirmation, nothing more.
