I will say one thing as this is a side note to the actual release. Power costs are far UNDER $0.02/kWh for LRM starting in March so LRM is not going anywhere for a very very very long time.
Music to a miner's ears Lab_Rat Cheap power -- well, that's more than cheap! It adds up when you're burning MegaWatts though...

From that.... then I'm guessing your moving operations to the northwest... will be about time.

I'd like to see that done for algae BKM. Solar troughs that track the sun, remove IR, and hit algae with just as much as they can tolerate. Fats and carbs, straight from sunshine - fast, and on an industrial scale. I'm sure that's how the most long range of airliners will be powered in 30 years: synthetic fuels (shorter will be electric). Would be pretty cool if we could power the miners with solar... If LR is talking MW, then that is a lot of solar!! Of interest to most here I'd say: http://www.datacenterknowledge.com/archives/2014/01/21/bitcoin-infrastructure-mining-data-center/

I recall LR's comment on that, but I've got serious doubts about that. Can you find any Iceland government press releases that offer new businesses free electricity? LR mentioned < $.02/kWh above. There is supposedly a location in the northwest (Oregon or Washington) that has 1.5 cent/kWh for industrial accounts. That fits the profile precisely.

I did some digging a while back into the Iceland idea, as far as I could discover, they seemed to be "cheap" relative to parts of Europe rather than "cheap" relative to areas of North America that have hydro power.

About three days and no posts. This is about as quiet as I've seen this thread.
I just got a phone call. Things are about to get very not quiet. In a good way. Start F5ing. grnbrg. Dear Diary, It's day 6. Everyone's F5 key has been broken for 2 days now. Supplies are running low and the nerd stink in the room is getting overwhelming. Fortunately, grnbrg and LR's re-enactment of "Christopher Walken - Puss In Boots - Happy Cat" was so flawless it inspired us not to resort to cannibalism. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEjKmsMkPKQI'm certain it will all be over "soon"™.

Even places with lots of Nukes and Geo are still very very expensive when compared to NA. CHEAP power is like the tooth fairy.
