Thought you guys might be interested in this; after talking with Ken yesterday I'm now busy creating what will hopefully be the new logo for VMC. I'm working on several different designs which I'll be presenting to him in a few days time, but for now here's a little preview of one of them:

Now THIS is very exciting.

Keep up the good work!

Who else thought 'Enron' when they saw that box?

With the box symbol I was aiming for an abstract representation of VMC's product, the whole idea of adding or slotting in extra hashing cards. Getting rid of the "E" whilst not overcrowding the symbol is a nightmare though, although this version is certainly an improvement over my first rough design:

The Fast Hash miners are expandable via boards. What about a vertical stack of thin box-type layers as a symbol?

As we all know, Design is a process. Step 1 just gets you started - it need not be remotely related to the final outcome.

That's actually one of the other designs I've been working on, it's not polished enough to show off yet though. I'll probably produce about 3 or 4 unique designs with multiple colour variants of each and present them to Ken next Friday. With any luck he'll like what we sees.

Just a reminder for those buying shares now above 0.0025:

I will be posting 400,000 shares on BTC-TC @ .0025 and 100,000 shares on bitfunder @ .0025 sometime this weekend after the market has time to breath from the resent sales.

Might as well just put them up there now and get it over with.   Tongue

If the offer isn't being rescinded then yes, the market is dead until his happens.

However, this needs to be the last offering that happens like this.

So a tentative list of candidates might be:
ArcticWolf
Icebreaker - long time everything both bitcoin and amc
chefborjan - has been around for ages with amc and has good input imo
I think we need to make sure there is a balance of people on the board if their role is just advisory. I guess in theory its about leaving the technical side of things to Ken, but we ideally need:
  • Someone who is used to account balancing
  • Someone with experience in IPOs, shares etc
  • Someone with experience with the nuances of bitcoin
  • someone who is used to communicating with the public
Maybe also a 'lay member' of the community so that the 'experts' on the board don't lose sight of the fact that decisions may be obvious to them but confusing to others.
.
I don't know if I have enough experience for anything other than the communication or lay member role. I think I will bring a decent amount of level headedness and critical thinking to the table, but its important to try and pick board members based on their merits as well rather than just how long they have been on an internet forum. Problem is... how do you tell if anyone is lying about their experiences?

My highwater mark was 50k shares, but I'd be happy to serve on the board or advisory committee.

I can contribute my experience with large scale mining to audit/optimize hardware/pool/network performance.
I have above-average experience with stocks and IPOs but am not a finance pro.
I have some experience with accounting, business plans, etc.
I have a functional understanding of Bitcoin but am not a professional cryptographer or coder.
I have top-notch communication skills, supreme mastery of English, and excel in persuasive or technical writing contexts.

If anyone thinks I'm lying about these qualifications I can write a short cool-story-bro demonstrating knowledge of the claimed domains.

I also have expertise in logical analysis, enjoy playing devil's advocate, and will prevent/disrupt any group-think occurring in the board room.

My opinion on the share walls; congrats on the NRE!  I don't have a large problem with the issuing of the remaining shares, because alas they will have to be issued.  If you purchased shares from speculators at 0.0028, I can understand why you would be miffed.  Purchasing from the speculator was a decision made by you, but I think if you were maybe more aware of how the remaining shares were to be issued, it would have helped you make a better decision.

They were not purchased from a speculator, they were 50,000 more shares issued by Ken at .0028.  I bought some at that price and saw the outstanding shares number increase by exactly 50,000 after they were purchased.  Ken hinted in this thread that he would release smaller blocks of shares, either at the same price or stepping the price up with each block.  To undercut that initial block of shares with a much larger release at .0025 is asinine.

I have found iCEBREAKER to be articulate, intelligent, honest and knowledgeable.  I've also found him to be a complete asshole.  All traits I think would serve us well in a board member.

Sorry, that is not how I meant it and wasn't speaking of his 50k wall... there were plenty of speculators selling above 0.0028.   I understand what you are saying in regards to the release price, I was just saying what could have been done once the NRE finished.  Now that he has released a small batch of 50k at 0.0028, anyone who purchased at that rate or higher isn't going to like a 0.0025 wall.

lol He has stated many times that he needed to further release shares to raise money and even told us at what price point they would be released.  This gave everyone a heads up and a chance to get their finances in order for a last shot at cheap shares.  I fail to see how this constitutes 'amateur hour'.

As soon as the wall is down the price will be right up over the previous high and you can all stop complaining.

It's a genius idea that has ensured not a single share was traded since the wall went up (over 30 minutes now), and that the price will be completely stagnant, and maybe even slough, for the foreseeable future. That wall isn't budging. There is no possible way you can spin this as a 'good' thing for investors.

If only they would have some kind of structure as to what is being sold and at what time/price. He is right. This is a very amateur manoeuvring. If there was shares to be sold at 25 why not put them up in the original batches?

These kind of moves ward off investors long term.

Although I agree it was done poorly, I think the shares will be gone in 24 hours or less.
