Why ICOs will fail in 2018

In my opinion ICO's are good, If you know how to choose the project you won't have problems with scammers. Remember to always look at the team and read whitepaper. And most important thing invest only in what you like. And yeah, i don't think ICO's will fall so soon, they probably will grow. Maybe in 2019 they will fall. It's just my opinion if anyone disagree please tell me why.

Perhaps because most ico has been made in the year 2017 the majority achieve success so in this year hunter must be able to have a good project in order to obtain satisfactory results in the future.But now ico duration is too long and need extra patience to run it.

I don't think it will necessarily 'fail' but the quality of projects that get to the ICO stage is gonna drop.
Most quality projects will be raising all their funds via presales and vc funding and you will only see lesser projects do ICOs.

This is the sentiment of a lot of ico experts and I tend to agree.

Everyone should know that 90% of them will fail , the share amount of them should be enough to understand this.
Also the copycat amount is insane.


Article mentioned that huge factor is over-complicating things.
This is exactly what i have been talking about - if project cant give you a simple idea description or explanatory graph, they will Fail.
I am looking for this factor when researching new ICOS.

With whole crypto market down , people has not trust in ICO also.  A lots of good project happened it 2017. And also more 50% icos are scam and not successful project. Most of ICO get less chance to fill there soft cap aslo.   Even thought less popular ico in 2018, I really believe on daneel project because it full fill there softcap within two hours. Every ICO i see recently bar a few are selling out in no time, gas wars are taking place just to get in on the sales!

Maybe ICO's will fade out abit but at the moment theyre booming!

Why the hell you can say that? Yes, there was many ICOs in 2017 made, but not all of them were junk, and the same will happen in 2018. There are million of businesses in the world, but there are still new ones, yes?

The article writer has a strong point of view about ICOs future next year. Yeah, that is very true since almost ICOs are just "Now you see me" scheme of ICO. If not a SCAM, the project will probably become obsolete after launching and eventually die in the process. But i am not counting out ICOs yet because there are still ICOs that are legit and really served its purpose.

Can't agree actually.There are still a lot of great, forward-looking ICOs with the highly experienced teams behind. Of course, some of them will fail, but they will definitely not die.

I indeed think that 2018 year will be ICOs fails year but only for investors not projects, because scams will get your money and will be with money, that is why I never invest in ICO or just waiting for them to get listed.

At the moment with the ICO all is well. There are a considerable number of projects, which after ICO give X. For example:
Libra Credit, Holo, Zebi, TomoCoin. And a lot of projects that gave excellent results in 2018.

The reason that a lot of icos fail and a lot of icos being made this year will fail is that they do not have any sustainable projects. Without a sustainable project which people cannot keep using for years to come, there is no way that your ico will survive. People want coins that they know that if they hold for a long time, the coin will still be around for that long time on exchanges for them to sell and make money.

I spent lots of time on ICOs in 2018 and made almost no profit from it.
I should have invested my money in something else.

Where did you scoped that trading now isn't profitable? Trading has been the most profitable way of earning in cryptocurrency.
It has been proven and tested that if you know how to trade, you can more than what the ICO investors can earn. And besides, ICOs are riskier than trading so if you'll ask the ICO investors their opinions are divided on it. ICOs are not here to last forever, that's the real thing.

The articles in the link are very comprehensive on the analysis of ICO projects, but we can't ignore the important point that fraudsters now make investors afraid to invest in ICO. Even if there are good ICOs, they will not be able to run because of insufficient funds!

The main reason why ICO fail in 2018 because there are alot of scams right now and it is destroying the image of ICO in the public. Also FUDS can be a factor too because it makes many people scared of investing to an ICO or to crypto as a whole.
