One of the short term needs would be a CasinoCoin block explorer. The ones listed are no longer active, so establishing a CSC block explorer would be extremely helpful.

Just had to link to this video.... The "Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. Smiley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tSo4IICBTY

"You've got to know when to hold em', know when to fold em'."

A lesson so many can learn, and to this day stays so true!

How do I solo-mine CasinoCoin? I know the basics, but I remember previously when I tried mining solo some other scrypt currencies, I've had so many rejects that the final income was significantly lower than I'd make by mining with a pool.. are there some particular cgminer options that I specify for solo-mining?

VARDIFF doesn't seem to be working.  I just mined for a little bit with 2750 Kh/s and it never increased past a difficulty of 2.

Hehehehe oh its working. The CSC coin difficulty just jump to 3 man. Keep an eye on it! Wink

I think you misunderstand what I'm talking about.  I'm not talking about the network difficulty.  I'm talking about the share difficulty that's listed in cgminer.  VARDIFF is short for variable difficulty and it's supposed to adjust depending on your hash rate.  A higher hash rate gets a higher difficulty and therefore gets sent tougher shares to solve.

I also forgot to mention that Cgminer rounds the number. You cannot see .something on it. It is always a whole number never 2.98 or anything. End if you look at the block stats we are finding blocks while Cgminer displays 3, proving that it rounds the numbers. Smiley

Hehe, ok.  It still doesn't sound like you understand what I'm talking about.  The number I'm referring to never has decimal places, it's always a whole number.  It's also never been set to 2 and stayed that low, ever.  I've mined in a lot of VARDIFF pools and the lowest share difficulty I've been assigned was probably 64.

Edit:  Just checked again and VARDIFF finally increased it from 2 to 540, much better.  I've never seen VARDIFF take that long to adjust, but better late than never.

Edit2:  Aaaand now it's back to 2 again haha.  Something is definitely not right with VARDIFF.
[/quote]

Thank you very much for pointing this out. I did indeed misunderstand you. We have it all tuned up now and rocking. We have been finding blocks almost every 1 to 2 minutes now! Cheesy

Sorry about that for sure my bad. Thank you for making sure I understood! Cheesy

Yo straight up unless you have a crap ton of power your solo will not preform as well as this http://casinocoin.coinarmy.com We where solo mining for a long time before we started the pool and the rate at which we found blocks increased substationally once we got the pool going and so many people joined. Cheesy

But if you really want to solo.

Download wallet from Casino Coin
Open Wallet.
Then Close the wallet immediately after it opens.
Setup casinocoin.conf and place in appdata/casinocoin directory. (search google for casinocoin.conf for sample)
Then run the wallet from command prompt Winkey+R cmd, and cd directory/to/casinocoinprogram then hit enter. Then type casinocoin-qt.exe -server
It will re-open in server mode.
Connect your minner to 127.0.0.1

and you will be off. Cheesy

There is nothing wrong with the blockchain. The seed nodes are way overloaded at the moment so it may take a while for you to get a connection. Someone posted some addnodes earlier but im sure those are full too.

Thanks Cartman.  Once I have the blockchain downloaded I'll have another p2pnode (cartman git) running!

Cool, the more nodes the better Smiley
All found blocks are simultaneously announced across all the node wallets so the p2pool chances of winning against orphans is high.
There are so many benefits to p2pool over pushpools (In my opinion) but they do require that you configure your miner correctly. Bad miners can have a negative effect on a node seen by high DOAs. P2Pools are like solo mining but you get the benefit of the combined hash rate. Any miner who want to maximize their mining I feel should run a p2pool node Smiley

Note: I should point out that one of the drawbacks is a bunch of smaller payments to your wallet.

For the last 7 hours at mining from http://casinocoin.coinarmy.com, the pool took nearly 5 hours to find a 1 block.
So I got less than 10 confirmed CSC in the last 6 hours doing 900Kh/sec when I expected more like 50+. Is this normal?

It looks like they receive multiple blocks per hour:

http://162.243.105.94/casinocoin/public/index.php?page=statistics&action=blocks

Also their wallet has quite a bit of CSC in it and not may withdraws lately:

I suspect a cron or something is broken. Hopefully they'll get it fixed soon.

I keep having problems with the server load, shares are still being processed and blocks are being found but especially the webinterface is having a very big influence on MySQL load. For now i disabled apache to have the cronjobs catching up with the backlog of blocks processing. I will also change the crons from every 10 minutes to once per hour. If the website is slow hang in there for now, i am going to setup a stratum node on servers in north america and europe to share the load but that is going to take some time (current server is in Amazon datacenter Sao Paulo). For the next few hours payouts will be done, after that i re-enable the website.

Did not expect the pool to grow this much this fast, kind of cool but giving me a lot of work i had not planned for  Cool

Serious question for the various pool operators that we have here please:

Tomorrow I will be completing the buildout of 10 dedicated mining rigs, each with 6 x 7950s hashing at 600KH/s - 640KH/s per card, so between 3,600 - 3,850KH/s per rig for a total of 36-38.5MH/s. Now obviously that took a fairly hefty investment and I can't afford to have them up/down/up/down when they should be mining. Are any of you 100% confident that you could handle that influx right now? Or should I look to split them up between pools?
