Personally, i think Rise has a potential although lisk and rise have similarities but I still go for rise.. I like the platform and base on my research. Reasons to invest are Blockchain Incubator, Mobile app store, fast and easy to use wallet, staking, low market cap. Rise has huge potential. Many different programming languages, new company structure with foundation set up in Gibraltar. I see this as an excellent long term hold because of the team and their determination.

For me the best and safest coin to invest was bitcoin.
It has a strong foundation and a good reputation in cryptocurrency.
And also the price of it was so high and very promising.
But aside from bitcoin , ethereum is also a good coin to keep.
Its a better alternative coin if bitcoin are not available.
This two coin are both nice to keep for a long term investment.

All investment is risky, there is still a chance that you will lose your money in investment because no one can tell what will happen in the future. I think it is safe to invest your money to more than one coins so that when one of your investment does not succeed you still have other coins that can return what you have lost from your other investment. But more importantly invest only the amount that you can afford to lose.

My advise for the 12000 USD will be a

40% investment in Ethereum
20% investment in Litecoin
20% investment in Bitcoincash
20% investment in NEO.

If we are talking about long-term investment, Bitcoin is the answer. I know you are aware of the surge in the price of Bitcoin. I think its price will become higher next year or the next 2 years. We dont know how will the altcoin market evolve, but all we know that at the same time bitcoin will get new highs. So if you want to save your money and your nervs - buy bitcoin dip(now) and hold it for years. And dont forget about safety

Since you are looking for alt coins then I suggest you invest in ethereum, it wouldn't be next to bitcoin in the market chart for nothing and its value is steadily growing. If I have the same money as you I would probably use it also to buy and hold ethereum coins.

If I had your money, I'd probably choose etherium since it is one of the most used coins out there. Also, the fact that campaigns promote and utilize etherium somehow. I think it is also wise to not just invest all your money into just one coin. Two different coins would be better. I'm thinking of PKT, so that you'll have more possibilities of earning.
