Yes, Litecoin is the silver of cryptocurrency and it is also a good coin to hold in long term. However, I also suggest you some other coin because invest all your money into one coin is very risky. Dash, Tenx, SALT, Vertcoin are my advice for you.

I think now not a best time to invest in crypto at all. As you can see prices was bumped too high and now all of crypto goes down. You should wait till the situation stabilize, and after that decide which coins are strongest  and invest, so it's up to you totally.

Go invest it in altcoins like IOTA, DASH and Zcash, I guess those ones are really worth investing in. Also don't forget about Ethereum, or rather go for trading with Ethereum.

Check out Neblio:

- Smart contract platform
- uses 8 languages compared to competitors who use one or three
- Similar to Stratis, Neo, Lisk etc..The difference is it has a marketcap of 100million and they are all a billion or over

In the next 3 months Neblios restful apis will be released, when they are expect this coin to be worth at least a billion and catch up to the value of similar projects like stratis.

TenX no doubt, highly undervalued coin that has lots of potential. I can see it easily reach 20 USD at the end of 2018, heck it will reach 20 USD around summer, but then most likely crash down to 10 USD, to have a slow climb to 20-30 USD at the end of 2018.

It really depends on you, I suggest that you read more about the coins you're going to invest in so that you will know what to expect. There's no excitement if you don't know anything about what you are investing in.

Litecoin is a good idea because it is also on a long-term hold. But I would like to suggest that you buy waves and Stratis too.

Invest it to 1 bitcoin and 2 ethereum. since you've got plenty of money to invest, it's best to trade primarily in bitcoin or ethereum. I'm sure you're going to gain a lot from it if you go trading.

Long term positioning of cryptocurrency is the best approach in investing in cryptocurrency. With your 12k invested in quality coin, it may worth millions in not too distant future. If i were you, I will invest have of that fund on bitcoin, 20% of it in ethereum and the remaining in quality ICO like wepower! Wepower is bring green power to blockchain.

You should find altcoins which have a great future (like, active development and real world usage), but haven't still had their big pump and gone 100x ICO yet!

My suggestions:

- Waves
- Stratis
- Siacoin
- Salt Lending
- Metal

Litecoin is a very good coin to invest for a long term, but I'd recommend you to diversify your portfolio and invest into 3-4 different altcoins, that will reduce your risks.

If you are going for long term and would want to be on the safer side then you should split your investment like invest half in ETH which is confirmed as an asset that would surely be profitable in future and invest the rest in at coins like LTC, ripple, or electroneum.
By this you won't even go in loss of one crypto get ban or faces a big drop in their value.

I will suggest you something, dont invest in those altcoins that no one knows , just invest in the solid ones, like ethereum, litecoin, dash, monero, and so on.
ZRX will also rise, but it is not safe enough compared to ethereum or the other coins.

If I have $12000 right now right here I will difinitely invest it exactly right now at this moment to ETG (Etherium Gold token). Yes you heard me right I will invest it all to ETG because as what I have seen in the past days ETG is on it's steady rise to its market value. Maybe ETG is still cheap to buy today so I'll gonna use it all to buy for ETG and buy as many as $12000 can buy and hopefully gain profits in this coming months.
