Its better to buy alternative coins in this way than to hold on to it because in buying alternative coins means starting investments and if their an investment

I think 90% you should hold ETH. The remaining 10% you can invest in Altcoin if you like trading. ETH is a coin always growing. So do not hesitate and sell ETH

I can advise you to buy coins like Cardano, ripple, verge or CS because their price is still below 1 $ you can invest it because I am very sure these coins have a very good future. maybe you can buy a cheaper price by joining ICO but do a research before buying on ICO because nowadays a lot of ICO scam.

Better invest in new promising altcoin when it is in ICOs, find good blockchain project that can be huge in future, like Quarkchain or Egretia

Hold ETH but other alt coins.
There is no reason why you can't hold ETH and other coins.
Do that.. Sell some of the ETH and buy other.

If you only have 1 eth, I suggest you that to put that in a good altcoin for getting more money back. As 1 eth is only less than $1000 now, it is hard to get rich in eth for only 1 eth.

Keeping your coin in one place is not the best move, it is best to put your coins to work and let them make money for you. You might decide to hold but you may end up holding for a very long time before prices go back up again and by then you would've been able to make a lot of money from your coins if you invest in.
