Yes, at least in terms of price. But each has its own unique advantages and disadvantages, features, apps, blockchain, and so on. They are after all two different bananas. They are not like each other. But I believe that Ethereum is on the road to achieve the value having reached by Bitcoin. But it will not be like both of them will be sharing equal price. Bitcoin will always be ahead. Second place is not a bad rank though.

Probably ethereum will be the next into bitcoin or can overtake bitcoin. Because bitcoin now has many disadvantages compare to ethereum like transaction fees, fast transaction and people love ethereum because of its tokens under ethereum blockchain. One thing that makes ethereum price go up it's because of many projects tokens that requiring ethereum to purchase their token on tokensale. It is so complicated. Bitcoin is the most wonderful and popular coin at this time since the beginning. No other coin have reached this position by overtaking bitcoin till now and I think no one can replace the position of bitcoin at recent future.

Ethereum also a very wonderful altcoin and which people can not invest into bitcoin for higher amount can invest into ethereum and can get a very good benefit from that and for this reason it is becoming a very popular also. I can not say its impossible because everything is possible in this crypto market and any coin can go huge in price like in one-year bitcoin go from 700$ to 20000$ no one can say in the next year Ethereum can go from 1000$ to 20000$. etherum can replace bitcoin in the future. total supply of etherum is 87 million, but until now its circulation has exceeded the limit and that means the supply of etherum is not limited. while the supply of bitcoin which is currently in circulation reached 16 million out of a total of 21 million. that means bitcoin supply is getting thinner and the price could just keep going up. now, supply of bitcoin nearly gone, and bitcoin may disappear in the market if there is no recovery supply and etherum has the greatest opportunity to replace bitcoin as the number 1 crypto in the world.

Of course ethereum is a very good and very stable project that is constantly evolving and Vitalik Buterin is doing absolutely everything to make the project really planetary scale, but I think that can not be called ethereum future bitcoin

this has been discussed  over and over again, and we all see the potential of ETh but it's still a far fetched assumtion that ETh will actually replace BTC. There's also the question if ETH could reach the market cap of BTC. BTC is the universal crypto right now for reasons that it has been widely accepted which gives it a great market cap.

There will be no doubt on appointing Ethereum to seat as the next Bitcoin because Ethereum has been Bitcoin's tail since early 2015 and always does although Ethereum was over taken Ripple for a week and placed Ethereum at the third seat but that doesn't take too long because Ripple dominance is just a 3 days only.
When Bitcoin went down Ethereum and everything else went down so I guess nothin will replace Ethereum as the second most important Crypto in the market today.

As of this writing, there would be no other Crypto or Altcoins that could replace Ethereum on it's second seat that is always next to Bitcoin and Ethereum already on it's tail since 2015.
Ethereum is one of the most important Blockchain core today as smart contracts are rising and still increasing in numbers like New Altcoins are no doubt choosing Ethereum platform to power up their Altcoin by using Eth Smart Contract through ERC20 token.
Ethereum would be the Bitcoin's rival and should replace Bitcoin on it's first seat as to be hailed as the most valuable Crypto in the market pretty soon.
