Well, where's the news? Everybody who had Bitcoins in those days and has either sold them for peanuts or gifted them to someone has virtually lost them, since they've got nothing for them and now they would be able to get millions of $. Moreover, most people would have lost quantities by far bigger than 103 Bitcoins.
The point is that Bitcoins were worth nothing back then. And there was no way to predict they would become so valuable in future.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

this just only means that bitcoin isn't valued that much that time of the year. It's a great lost to know that bitcoin has gone up too much and you invalued it  years ago. This proves that it was worth nothing years ago.  But now who would have imagined that it would just bloom like this, Complete luck for those who started years back.

This is not really that impressive, many people have lost a lot more bitcoin. Just look in the explorer and see all that dead money.

I think he is really sad to lose his wallet which 103 btc inside the wallet and I think many of us will do the same. I see many people lost their wallet in many news including in this forum. it is sad but we cannot do anything but we still have the opportunity to have bitcoin again by buying at any exchanges and then we should be taken care our wallet.

He isn't the only one, many lost based on improper enlightenment about bitcoin and the important of keeping your private key safe.... Most even didn't know bitcoin will later be accepted by many now and they kept their private key unsafe...

It is so much, and lost their dat file. I even don't know if it is happen for myself how can I react I have no idea. I think, there is no other way to recover this money, but yet I wish the man who is behind 103 get their money which is nearly impossible. I suggested to anyone if you have huge amount on crpto use hardwallet.

this is actually one risk with bitcoin, just like when you carry around your money, the risk of security. thats why you should diversify even your wallets and exchanges that you use.

It hurts~ this is the problem with bitcoin, once you forget your password or lose your dat file, it's nearly impossible to recover your money. I hope in future some wallet has recovery option, so people can easily recover their wallet, or else we will see lots of sad story coming in next few years.

wayback 2011 price of bitcoin it is so expensive maybe its ok to the guy who got lost his private key. Maybe he will be lucky if he will find his private key now. 103 Bitcoin is really big money now. This will be a moral lesson to all of us guys that we need our private keys and password safe.

This is a fortune. Expectation he has taken in a lesson never to keep every one of your coins just in one wallet particularly not such gigantic sum and not to be so reckless about the wallet and related information. It's pitiful that nothing really isn't possible to recoup those coins.

While you are correct it is not exactly the same those that sold their bitcoin at least got something out of it even if it was very little money but those that lost it did not got anything, so while the end result may seem similar the truth is that is not the same this is why those that sold at a bad price can probably eventually accept their mistake while those that lost them will probably never forget it.

Previously the value of a bitcoin is very small but now it is very high. Knowing that why the bitcoin was not high in the past, is because few people know about it and this forum has not yet been developed properly. I am so impressed to accrue such a great value of bitcoin today, as he/she is known as a proficient in the field of this forum.I would have helped the poor if I could handle such a huge amount of money.

It will be nice to have some link to read about this, but if it is true it is one of those mistakes that is going to haunt you for the rest of your life I have lost some money in the past, nothing like that and it still bothers me to this day, I do not want to imagine the things I will be telling myself if I were to lose that huge amount of bitcoins, especially since bitcoin is very valuable.

I can be dead if i lose that amount of money. I am poor so thats very big amount.
However, you are right, no link it seems like fake story. Because the amount of losing also very fantastic.

Ouch! That has gotta hurt, he can only imagine and see now how much the value of Bitcoin has grown and regret into it. That's why we should always store our private keys to avoid this from happening.  Grin
