This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

103 Bitcoin from 2011 is a bit Bitcoin lower then, if you compare 103 Bitcoin to a great deal, we can say it's too big to lose, but then 103 Bitcoin is just a little bit, now we can say it's really a big deal that we do not have a bitcoin, because we can not say that Bitcoin is bigger, and we can not say how far it will take 1 bitcoin.

That is so depressing, that is worth over a million USD.Knowing you have had such money once but was lost because your private was compromised. I have lost 0.173 bitcoin too for similar reasons,i can relate to how he must be feeling right now.We must secure our assets.
Learn from our mistakes, bitcoin will surely grow in the long run but the biggest challenge for people like us who are willing to hold
long term, is on how to secure our coins. I know this kind of risk, that is why I also diversify my bitcoin to altcoins so I can have different wallets.

Well, where's the news? Everybody who had Bitcoins in those days and has either sold them for peanuts or gifted them to someone has virtually lost them, since they've got nothing for them and now they would be able to get millions of $. Moreover, most people would have lost quantities by far bigger than 103 Bitcoins.
The point is that Bitcoins were worth nothing back then. And there was no way to predict they would become so valuable in future.

I hope that people will see this tragic story as a reminder to always secure your files and passwords either in offline or cloud wallets. Always organize your files in the computer of smartphones and limit the use of these devices for professional use only so that you won't regret anything. You can also secure your private keys by trusting them to someone you are close to and you know that they won't betray you. Its hard to work alone so it will be good to have a company in this business.

For me it is painful to lose 103 bitcoin. It tells us how much care we have to keep in the online business. And we should also think about our future, that we are investing our money and how safe our money is invested. If we do not pay attention to all these things then such an event can happen to us as well.

If i've experienced as the same of your situation, i can't easily accepted it because you work hard to get what you wanted so it is hard to accept it especially if you lost your bitcoins. No one will give you an bitcoins unless if you invest it so you need to be careful if you don't to experienced it too and it is a lesson learn to us to make more secure in our bitcoin and altcoin wallet.

So sad that you lost 103 bitcoins, Which is worth more but there is no point in crying over spilled milk work hard you can still invest on mining bitcoins and it might take time and effort to reach that point. I know some of the early investors on bitcoins have sold bitcoins for perils as they themselves did not have  the idea that this bitcoins invention could reach the highest point of $ 20000 USD last year. There is still potentiality for the bitcoins to reach $ 1 million  dollar so it is better to invest on bitcoins  to earn profits as mining is not that easy as in the early stages of bitcoin.

But on that year, it is too cheap than now.  It cost like $1, 545 from 2011 then now it is $845, 062 but you cannot predict it and what if the owner has own more than he have lost?  It is too big from this day but it is like a cents from him before.  That's why there are more coins are don't circulate then the supply getting low and it can affect the demand in every single coin.

That's too bad. Lossing the wallet.dat file itself will negate all chances of ever getting them coins back. Cause if he still has the wallet I heard there's already a way to get the password using third party service. If he lost it in his harddrive I would pay good money to have it recovered even if it's a small chance.

That's why i keep telling people to keep their keys safe. A close friend of mine had his laptop stolen and lost 3 Bitcoins. So people are themselves to be blamed for this. They should be very careful.

I think almost all of us who uses bitcoin  do also experienced it because we are only humans and we arent perfect. And if that happens to me, I will not know what will I do. surely many people who have experienced such an event, and of course we really do not want it to happen to us but want how else
such events come to anyone and without any notice of course so with the incident we are required to be more vigilant and careful in doing something. This will serve as a learning to all bitcoin.

I feelcreally Sorry for the lost of that Guy. Imagine that 103 bitcoin approximated mines way back 2011 and its value in the market was just so-so, that's why we just store it for safe keeping. then when the time is right where its value would go and plummet in to the roof, we are to sell it and be a millionaire the nest morning. But the bad news is that, youve lost the wallet save file, whereas backup was not in the list when dealing with bitcoin.

That is a huge amount of money, ,i think he has no idea what will happen to bitcoin  in the future so even though he accidentally deleted the file  before it doesnt matter to him. If i only knew that bitcoin will be this huge, i started mining before.

back then, he was lost about few hundreds dollars maybe. but now it has gone to $800,000++.
if i was him, maybe i do the same thing. keep looking for that wallet.dat file.
many similar things happened like this. peoples lost their bitcoin, and the circulation of bitcoin become reduced, causing bitcoin price increase.

It's no way to get back your wallet if you lost dat file and don't have a backup for it.
Maybe it can be a lesson learn for us.
Always create 1 or 2 backup files for our main wallet because we never know what gonna happen in the future.
