Every risk must exist and it has become the responsibility of each, I also have experienced it. But now I have created a copy of all passwords and keys and put them into another PC and one copy written on the paper.
But this is quote a hefty loss.  im even scared to think about losing bitcoin or a mistake like forgetting a password.

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."
I think this is due to his personal mistake. Everything can happen, it's important you can control it or not.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

this once again confirms that you need to be very attentive to everything that you do. You just need to think about the future and learn more about the technology of where you invest

I think the lesson you can learn is to put more effort in protecting your bitcoins even if their haven´t nearly that much.

maybe the owners do not have high hopes for bitcoin is they leave the address and private key. maybe they will regret it now and find the address with 103 BTC haha and bad luck in 2011 i think the bitcoin price is less than $ 100

It is so hard to retrieve it back. There was no way of hacking the private key on his address no matter how technologically advanced we are now because it is what is supposed to do. If anybody could just got into the block chain and retrieve every bitcoin then it will be the end of bitcoin because it will become useless. How funny it is to keep a very long and secured key to open it when others could just hack into the system and retrieve what they want and how much is it that they want. So this is how bitcoin works and it is a sad reality.

I think the guy just silly lost his investment... it's a pity, but maybe it will serve someone as a great lesson.

It becomes a very bad adversary for me because the amount of money is not lost little from your hands. you should be more patient.

So sad that you could not be able to get your BTC after losing some important details for your account. Well it is so hard to retrieve the private key since you are the only sole person who can open your account. Even those development team who made the wallet available to the clients do now know also on how to access each and everyone digital wallet.

That's an old story that happened to many people, because that year the bitcoin price is still cheap. Who would have thought the bitcoin price would be as expensive now? Nobody thought! So losing that year was not so painful. But when the bitcoin price is converted to the current price, it feels like crying. Therefore, from now on the wallet owner must maintain a true private key by storing in various storage places, because that is the key to unlock the treasure that is in the wallet.

Wow... 103 BTC. That's a lot. From how the story pans out I'm sure he didn't have a back up or anything of that sort. But I hope he finds a way to get it back though.

Fortunately, he earned too many Bitcoins during this time. When there is a wallet, it is necessary to save password wherever you find it and not be able to lose it.

Losing that amount of money is clearly not pleasant. Itself is to blame, you need to better monitor the files on your computer, take more stringent security measures.

I still feel for him though because it's just too much to loose at once and its a lesson for many of us out there especially the new adopters to lproperly learn more about how to secure their funds than earning them because what do you gain if after accumulating a lot of bitcoins and you loose them all through negligence or ignorance?

All early adopters have the same story. Most have lost or sold at a low price. We will also feel the same after a few years if we sell it now.
