He really became rich if he could remember his private key. This is really a bad thing. Many people have encountered this kind of guy and no one seems to be able to recover their bitcoin number. I think this is a solid capital of Bitcoin so it can last forever. Cheesy

You can just even save your private key anywhere that you won't forget. smartphones, emails, write it on note, put it on your wallet, and etc. There are many ways that you can save your private key. But this is a sad story.

I think that in the future there will be some possibility to restore lost wallets. It will be like treasure hunt for some people. May be it will be done when quantum computers will be available or some blockchain changes will be made. It depends on the value of bitcoin. If it will cost hundreds thousands of dollars someone will find the way how to take lost bitcoins.

Losing 103 bitcoin is very sad because that is huge amount. And in my country that is millions and you can buy anything that you want to buy and that is lifetime money. More people now want to have that amount of bitcoin and I hope that bitcoin like hundreds pieces.

Wow, he has actually 103 Bitcoin in his wallet. He must be really disappointed with losing his wallet.dat. I wish he gets it soon as possible back but that is nearly impossible.

Actually who is this guy ? Does he has a name ?

What a pity , there's nothing to happen to that supply if it will not be unlocked. And we must make use of it. Can't he not recover the files in his/ her laptop or computer. If it was deleted it can recovered. But I hope he or I can recover it I hope I' a genius hacker.

Please try, if stored in offline wallet of course such risks can occur, I'm sure if you want to restore it takes more than 10 years if lucky, it is because bitcoin private key is designed with difficulty and high encryption.

Oh man I would be sick If I lost that much.  The security and backup of funds is absolutely critical.  bitcoin and crypto equal financial responsibility and we probably all need a lesson in it at some point.

I have lost like 1 BTC that too in trade but that sucks, so I can relate ho much bad that person must be feeling after losing this huge amount. I hope some miracle happens and he gets his BTC back.

Well, that is the risk of trading, but I think that is really a lot. with 103 bitcoin, you can make whatever you want. well, even losing 1 bitcoin will be very burdensome. it becomes a special experience for its users.
Happy Fun

everyone must be careful with their wallets especially if they have that amount of money. I don't think that this case is a single incident and many other users lose their bitcoin so no one knows how many of them are available.

Way back those years bitcoin isn't valued much by that time so it's okay for him not to recover that as no one expecting that bitcoin will be on this stage. And it's like the most popular problem before of those miners that has mined a lot of bitcoin, they want to store it for real but unluckily as they look for some security to their bitcoins, they are wiping out their storage upon backing it up and unfortunately, they aren't able to make one back up for it.
I think this is not only one case. You are right they don't value bitcoin back then because its equivalent value is low unlike now.  Maybe they think it wasn't legit. And as the time pass, different version of computers are released and he didn't backed it up. And now he/she was trying to access his/her account and he can't access it.
