I wonder how much of this (BTC dominance dropping) has to do with taking advantage of 2017's tax code... total crypto market cap is still relatively high at over $500 billion as the price of BTC falls.

http://fortune.com/2017/12/21/bitcoin-tax/

If the logic is true, then we will see that change on New years. Also, could mean another day of selling.

тpи пepa в жoпy
wtf?

russian slang, probably harking back to some online humor (https://otvet.mail.ru/question/73235395), irrelevant to bitcoin price.
basically, if you stick three feathers up your behind, you would [not] become a magic bird/firebird (ЖAP-ПTИЦA)

hence the meaning vis-a-vis Segwit2X and bitcoin
he is talking about Segwit 2x anyway

If bitcoin keeps going down ,altcoins will need to become less dependent from it otherwise the whole market is fucked.

Usually alts lag behind bitcoin by a bit ... so... im expecting bloodbath in alt fairly soon.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

You are much too premature, snowdropfore, to be arguing that we have gone from a bull market to a bear market basd on some rinky dink corrections (including our current about 43% correction status from $19,666 to $11,060).

If we see some kind of sustained price below $5k in the near future, then maybe at that time, and if such were to occur (seems doubtful), we can reassess at that point whether we have transitioned into a bear market?

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

"Three asses in the ass" per google translate

Not good at all
No, it's three feathers in the ass.
пepa means something like feather or quill
Explained above by Biodom.
Bitcoin Vanga makes extremely heavy use of slang, as do the people who post replies in his blog.  It's more like a secret code understood only by native Russian speakers, not something you could use a dictionary to translate.
It's not that they're doing it on purpose to obscure the discussion, but it has that effect.

No it wasn't. I'm sorry but you are being dumb and shitting up the thread. Please act more responsibly from here on out.

These are his last words on the subject:   (TLDR: bull run still in effect, buy the dip)

" We continue our analysis with a simple but effective method. Hump / hollow. The main rule of the bullish trend is that the new depression should be higher than the previous one.

According to this rule, the long-term trend is still alive.

In the short term, one more spurt down the test for $ 10k. Level 16400 is the level of 62% of Fibonacci. However, as can be seen from the figure, bitcoin likes to go out of such holes bluntly up.

In general, I see no signs of a weakening of the long-term trend. In the short term, you can "fool around", but I recommend buying out bottoms. Even $ 8000 is too bad, but in the positive zone of the weekly BB.

Greetings to the misters "The bubble burst". I've heard you dozens of times in six years."

sorry didnt want to appear to seem negative. I guess my thinking was that in his opinion there was no chance at all to go below 11k.

What do you mean by safe?
Someone posted a plausible graph in comments: up to 18-19k, down to 15-16K, then up to an unknown ATH.
However, I feel that we don't have much more than 1-2 mo before the whole complex seriously corrects.

It was not a prediction.  He gave us three possible options.
