I'm all for helping since this is the 1st mpos pool that isn't leggy like hell.

Also I suggest switching hashrate to KHS as it currently refers to SHA256.

I switched personal hashrate to KHS as most people probably do mine with less that 1MHs.  Pool and Network rates will remain in MHs.

As for the lag (or lack thereof) - We only have this pool running on our VPS and are not stacking any other pools here.  The performance is nice now but as it grows it may degrade a bit.  I will make every effort to keep it lag free but the pool does have to at least break even to pay the VPS costs associated with running the pool.  I am obviously going to monitor this and will take it day by day.

And thanks to everyone who has joined so far!

Next update will be making it easier to see the weighting of your coins for stake, as well as cpu fixes- In testing for release after the holiday. Wink

PoW reward halving coming soon once again

Great addition to PoS coins! Really looking forward to it

Minar.cc pools are not running anymore, the domain was registered by someone else and I don't have any relationship with the new owner.

I found this PHS pool  .5% prop

http://phs.notnull.org/index.php

I have it set as one of my load-balanced pools.

I'm the only one there mining right now if anyone else wants to help out.

Well as a Philo I abso-forking-lutly MUST mine and love this coin.

But It did not go over well with my old NVidia card & useless CPUminer.... so I ran out and upgraded to an Asus R9 270

But now for the life of me I can't get cgminer working..

I'm sorry to beg and ask for help
I DID read MANY posts and searched many threads to try to learn but I'm toast and lost.

PLEASE for the sanity of a foolish old philosopher help get this mofo working.

I know my start cmd/.bat should look a bit like this...
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe   --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool.phsblocks.com:3333/ -u PhiloBlockMiner.PhiloGPUMiner -p DUMBASSPHILOPASS --gpu-platform 0 -d 0 --shaders 1200 --intensity 12 --worksize 512 -g 1

But I get JSON error
no  device error

And I also know I need to manual make a config with some of this in it..
server=1
daemon=1

So I know I'm close and I will/should be an easy fix....now that the Mushrooms and Opium is wearing off.

Did I mention PLEASE

I will donate a reward....(Not that have mined much yet)

I can teach you to swear like a Chinese Sailor IN MANDARIN!!! surely that is worth something...

How do you know device ID is 0?

I would recommend starting with GUIMiner. It will tell you the proper device ID right when you launch it.

GUIMiner just uses cgiminer in the background but makes it easier to change around variables.  Try to mine when that to find the right variables the. You can switch over to cgminer.

WE could also use some money for international SEEDNODES... they cost about $250/year.. but we will only need them for between 9 months to 24 months until the PHS network is robust and widely enough spread to avoid orphaned network zones that may fork  (not sure that is right term) the blockchain - digeros

Really intrigued by this coin and some of the ideas around it. I'd love to get involved.

I'm a graphic designer but also have experience with web development and social media. I designed, coded and built Project-Grey.com. More recently I've handled designed work for the Australian BTC exchange CoinJar.com.

What I think would be great for Philosopher Stones is some solid branding. It's an awesome idea and I can build a really strong image for it. Once we've got that I can setup a Facebook, a twitter for updates, a sub-reddit for organized community discussion.

Here's a few ideas I had in my head:

Keep up the awesome work!

Those definitely have the PHS feel to em,and look clean, where have you guys been?  Cheesy Good to get some new content!

Yep I agree, get the client clean and mean, infrastructure, and then go for the promotions. It's been slow but steady lately, I plan to work on the PHS highlights, and rewrite the info/spec sheets, thread information, etc, just busy with the client for now. Will need to simply explain how PoS works, since its not well understood in general.

The PHS project is of course open to all, and i will help anywhere I can, There has been some work on a graphic 'makeover' ,  It looks good , hopefully the creator will post some of what he has shown me thus far. The client itself could also use new icons/image and general makeover as well, maybe to make it a bit more unique and to help it stand out in this sea of coins. We will have to agree on a central Logo, but then again we could also have alternative clients, I'm up for anything.

Great to hear! Client's looking ace so far. Are you looking to compile for Linux & Mac as well? I'll help reach out to some mac/unix devs to see if we can get pre-compiled releases of the wallet client. It'll help get the less technical Mac users on board and make it a little easier for Unix users.

Here's my mockup for the wallet client if you're looking for a new coat of paint. Obviously designed for Mac but the same idea should work for PC/Unix. If you're interested I can email the .PSD file so you can slice it up.

You're totally right about explaining PoS in a simple and easy way. Aside from the lore, it's perhaps the most unique thing about this coin. So it's crucial we hit that nail on the head for the new users discovering PHS. Are you the one in charge of this website: phstones.com ? How would you feel if I redesigned it and included the new copy & logo we agree on?

My vote for the logo goes to the original, it's clean, beautiful & all that good stuff but most of all there's no trademark on it. I was enjoying the deathly hallows triangle on the current client version (I maybe even like it a little better) but there's probably a trademark against it, so we should avoid.

And Egypt?

Would aim to have as many as possible, may need some translators, will see what we are missing after next update.

Smiley
I meant to ask if you know how many users there, it's at least 1 (me).
Anyway, I can translate it to Arabic if you want. Although crypto is yet to penetrate the Arabic world.
