PHS 50% PoS - Stop mining start minting

Cryptsy wallet appears to be down again. I've had a withdrawal that's been missing for 6hrs and a test deposit that's been missing for over an hour now.

PHS needs another exchange. Please vote for PHS every 24 hours at:

https://www.allcrypt.com/voting

Cryptsy is slow on many deposits and withdrawals.  Had to wait 24 hours once for a deposit of CASH.

Cryptsy techs are dumber than a bag of hammers as far as I can tell, but this missing withdrawal was the last of several such withdrawals in a 3 hour period. The other transactions showed up within minutes, just as they do when cryptsy is functioning normally. The test deposit also missing is further evidence. Cryptsy's PHS wallet is offline once again for one reason or another.

I did some test deposit/withdrawal and was fine after the hardfork, but most recent deposit did not credit (they usually show up in balances pending pretty quick, 1-5 minutes, if they don't their wallet is offline)... I did send a message to do the quick 1.5.1 update, so maybe that is the issue.

In other news, If you can run a synced node for PHS so we make sure everyone gets updated (maybe stop client quick and delete peers.dat, since you may have banned older clients) and restart, we can get old clients updated since they will need the chain after hardfork.

also really don't want to but maybe we need to move a moderated thread  Cheesy

Deleted my peers.dat file and rebuilt philosopherstone.conf with addnodes listed at http://dns.phstones.com/ yesterday. My wallet is online 24/7. Smiley

The moderated thread thing is completely up to you. It's unfortunate a very few poorly behaved individuals make that sort of thing necessary. Coming into someone else's thread, bashing their work, and promoting your own is beyond obnoxiously rude imo. This is an open source environment, not microsoft vs  apple, we all need to co-exist with some semblance of decency.

May not be a bad idea to do it every 12 hours, since I still see the ban hammers on unsuspecting 1.2 clients  Cheesy

Right who needs apple and MS when we got zhou tong  I guess there hasn't been a leveraged exchange since  Cheesy

since im a holder of both PHS and LGD lets take a chill pill and read my birthday story - me and BTC since 2010: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=592436
coins dont have to fight, they can co-exist and do good for todays world.

Hi, I too have had problems similar to those described.

There is a BlockExplorer running and updated, with which we can check the TxID of Criptsy and that of our POS block?

Alternatively, to be sure i'm in the correct fork, can anyone confirm the current block number and Stake Difficulty?

Currently my wallet shows:
"blocks" : 214703
"proof-of-work" : 5.52517986,
"proof-of-stake" : 0.01082076,

TIA

PS:
IMHO I think an indication of the difficulty of the POW and the POS could be a simple and useful
addition to the site http://phstones.com/mobile.php

Hi everyone!

I originally approached Palmdetroit with my proposal for an enhanced version of the official PHS website.
I would like to ask for your opinion and feedback to improve the website design & coin branding. It is important that we get this coin looking really nice.

These are my goals:

  • The improved branding will help with the public's adoption of the coin
  • The brand will build trust and portray the coin to be a strong and friendly brand like Visa or Mastercard
  • The coin needs to look and feel like it belongs on social networks, and big stores such as Amazon
  • Psychologically it will make the coin feel like it is worth more to someone new
Here is the draft of the website:

http://www.computerstudio.eu/private/phstone_ss.jpg

I look forward to your comments and feedback

Benz

Let's try it another way more precise.

Before opening a ticket on cryptsy, I would like to know if I am correctly synchronized with the blockchain.

For this purpose I would ask you to return the hash of a recent block of the blockchain.

Please, in the console of your wallet, what result do you obtain from the command:
getblockhash 214800

Thanks in advance.

Cryptsy is hosed again.

Thanks for the reply.

More or less the number is what you indicated, but the number of the block is mostly a function of time.

I mean, the blocks must still be generated by the nodes of the (sub)net after x seconds, right fork or not.

So I guess that two parallel branches of a fork would have the same number of blocks + / - after
a short time.

The hash and the number of a block instead should indicate clearly, both the block, that the chain of blocks
that precedes it.   But I'm just a beginner, may be wrong.

Hi,

Yes with a pure PoW you are correct, over time to smooth variance multiple chains would target around the same height, however there are multiple factors which usually prevent this form happening in a pos/pow model. In PHS and to simplify for most users, an identical block height in your wallet and the stone site gives a very quick way to determine if you are indeed on the same chain, but ideally you want to compare hash.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

The hash of this block is identical, we are in syncCheesy Cheesy

I was beginning to worry me a little, now I can open a ticket on cryptsy knew to be right.

I had not thought about the number of coins of the entire network as a sort of checksum of the entire blockchain.
Effectively, thinking about it better, the number of coins generated is not fix, but also depends on PoS, and then by the amount of coins
transferred and / or in stock at each block.
Probably I think still in POW-only mode.  ^_^;

I learned one other thing.  Smiley

Thanks for the quick change to the site http://phstones.com/mobile.php.
To be more indicative, it would be possible to have a few more decimal for the PoS Diff?

Thanks again in any case.

cryptsy is a bit soft on their withdrawals (on every coin i tried at least) if they don't appear by tomorrow and you have no confirmation on the cryptsy site just send a ticket and they will fasten it up^^

Cryptsy is not being soft, their phs wallet is down. They'll process your withdrawal and spit out a confirmation, but you won't get your coins until they fix whatever their most recent problem is. File the ticket today.

This coin is being damaged due to being listed on only one exchange...and an unimpressive exchange at that. Please vote for PHS every 24hrs here:

If you look at http://diamondblocks.info/chain/Philosopherstone, you can see that it is frozen for many weeks.

His last recorded block is: 195 239 2014 -04-06 09:48:55

We really, really, really, need a block-explorer running and updated.
