"Minion driver is now available We have completed the first version of the driver for the Minion and submitted it into cgminer. This driver has been tested and certified on FPGA. After several months of tests we have concluded that in order to achieve the best efficiency with our code, the Minion will have to run at 1.01Ghz. For this reason we have increased the number of cores from 64 to 99." Does this mean the minion/x-1 will be overclockable to 150gh/s?

By reducing the speed at the design time, the whole chip (netlist) changes." Normally, we expect 20-30% overclocking capability. Note that this is not supported or advertised officially because we cannot guarantee it."

I've been following this thread simply because everything to this point seems a bit too good to be true
It depends on how/when you paid, but even for those of us who paid in BTC when it was over $1000/BTC, making ROI looks sketchy. Everything has to go perfect - the difficulty has to plateau and they have to ship by the end of March. Thats for us to break even. The mining game is effectively dead for those who are not a pool operator, mining hardware manufacturer, or 3rd party reseller. There are tons of spaces to make money in the Bitcoin world. Its a huge, open field right now. Go out and play. If you stay in the mining game in 2014 as a little guy, you will get crushed.

There are many other coins that can be mined with ASICs, and then traded, or they might become something in their own right. This is not a one dimensional game.

99 cores? WTF kind of number is that? Make it 96 or 128. Anyhow, what I originally came here to ask BA is: When do you currently expect tapeout to happen?

PPC is the other viable currency using SHA256 but even that difficulty has been skyrocketing in the past few days. If BA can hit their dates, it'll be a narrow ROI, any miss and it's a gamble at that point.

This is true but those who don't have a mining machine don't have to wait until April, May or June 2014 to buy a SHA or Scrypt mining machine but can do it now in different ways. There are solutions to start mining in few days... I am working on this and will have all ready in about 1-2 weeks, then will share it in a new post :-)

Dear Black Arrow LTD, can we get some clarification here on cloud mining starting date please?I.M.O. If you ordered Cloud mining in 2013 and it's paid for,you will be fine. Remember the Minions used for "Rent" and those for building X-1/X-3 all come from the same "Batch" of chips. When the delivery date changed to Mar/10,so did the "Rental" date. This new date would apply to those wanting to place an order now.

Interesting, I went to the store site and attempted to log in. It says i don't have an account although i have invoice in my e-mail dated 24/09/2013. I guess i'll just have to wait and see what happens. This is probably due to the website changing since the early orders.
If your order was placed before the new website, you need to log on to the old one here: http://archive.minersource.netCheers Art

i placed an order on 1-1-2014 for an X1 on minersource.net and after payment confirmation it said "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Round 2 Batch 1"
I just went and had a look a few min ago at my order and now it say "## Delivery Date This is a PRE-ORDER, now on Batch 2 Round 1"
WTF? Have I just been shafted?
I did a screen cap of the original back on 1-1-2014.
What's the significance of Round 2 Batch 1 vs Batch 2 Round 1?

You are best to contact Bobsag3 directly, there may be a chance you could squeak into Batch1 but BA closed Batch 1(1st batch of Minion to be made) on Jan/3. All orders placed now will be Batch 2 shipping in May.
