Well, we know that Blake was designed to be ASIC friendly. Scrypt was not, and yet there is a lot of action (or at least talk) about a Scrypt ASIC development. So technically, it's not at all unlikely, and it should be relatively easy after the generations of SHA-2 chips already out there. However, it would be a big investment, so it wouldn't make a lot of financial sense at the moment.

I'll try again What driver do I need to do to allow ubuntu to see the x6500 I do not see an entry in the /dev folder.
I failed to get an x6500 running with a Win 7 64b host. I have yet to try it under linux. What has been working fine for me is a 32b Windows XP virtual machine, python 2.6, and PyUSB 1.6 for python 2.6. I just tried to get it going on Ubuntu 12.04.3 and failed. "No module named d2xx". Python 2.7 32 bit on win7 with Python 2.7 PyUSB-1.6 _______________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________ Next Coin Lite - Fair Distribution

I have not been informed of any ASIC in production for Blake-256 until I do please regards such things as a scam or fake and as proof on same day we are also going to have a UFO Landing which is just as likely http://countingdownto.com/countdown/ufo-landing-countdown-clock

Thanks Kramble, I was googling "build Xilinx JTAG platform cable" which did not yield any helpful results.
I have a load of veroboard lying around and plenty resistors etc. Will maybe try and build one out of interest if I can dig out a suitable buffer / driver IC.

Sounds like you know what you're doing. Any CMOS buffer should do the trick (the idea is to do level translation between the 5 volt parallel port and the 3.3 / 2.5 volt JTAG). The reference circuit uses the 74HC125 (or 74HC244 used in the byteblaster-MV), but anything similar should do the job. It's not really worth the effort to be honest, as the USB platform cable is a lot faster and better supported (the document I referenced claims the series-3 parallel port cable is unsupported after ISE version 10, but it's working fine on 14.1 for me). Good Luck

How is that BLC is not on moon already? It's innovative, it's easier to mine (no ram needed --> less heat).

I agree but I have far from given up currently working on a merge mine pool for BLC and others Blake-256 based coins which should be due soon I am also working in collaboration with other coin devs to bring new merged coins and other services and my game dev team has yet to go public on our first MMO title 2014 will be the year of the Blake-256 algorithm one way or another, any support, good wishes or help with marketing BLC is always welcome

The BLC banner is now up on pxlcoin.com! Thanks to everyone who contributed! Unfortunately the site admin did not follow my instructions for where to place the image exactly, but I guess its still a good spot. Also the admin would not let me combine the adspace dbt1033 wanted to donate, so if u gave him blc for that pls talk to him about getting it back. Its too bad we weren't able to make the image ultra large by reusing dbt1033 space, but at least BLC still has one of the largest images

I'd love to mine BLC on my nvidia card with some sort of cudaminer. For us with nvidia cards, cgminer does not yield acceptable results. Is it even possible to mine BLC with CUDA? Because if not, that might be the reason why no cudaminer exists yet...
working on a blake implementation in cudaminer. Right now it's there in the github code but it needs much optimization.

Last night I was enlightened by someone about Blakecoin and the future potential of the blake256 algorithm, so I've switched my mining rig to full time blc! Just wanted to report my hashrates for anybody with a similar setup looking for ball park numbers, I'm very impressed with the blake256 efficiency so far: high hash rates, low temps. I'm using the kR105 cgminer and running BAMT 1.5.2, it was actually quite easy to switch from scrypt to blake256 - I'm impressed. I have 4x Gigabyte R9 270s: https://i.imgur.com/uwc8lWN.pngI'll be happy to share my config if anybody with 270s is interested, just ask.

Sure thing - I use this same config (but scrypt instead of blake256 algorithm, and "xintensity 4" with kalroth's miner) to mine scrypt at 500 KH/s stable, very good config. I am not undervolted, so I suspect that is what allows me to push the clock over 1150 and still be stable (this is how I achieve the high hash rates). "intensity" : "14", "worksize" : "256", "lookup-gap" : "2", "gpu-threads" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "8193", "gpu-engine" : "1165-1165", "gpu-fan" : "0-100", "gpu-memclock" : "1498", "temp-cutoff" : "94", "temp-overheat" : "88", "temp-target" : "74", "temp-hysteresis" : "3", "api-mcast-port" : "4028", "expiry" : "1", "log" : "5", "no-pool-disable" : true, "queue" : "0", "scan-time" : "1", "blake256" : true, "kernel-path" : "/usr/local/bin", "api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1"
