It is rather amusing, the imagery conjured up is one of negotiations going on in the back alley of some Souk somewhere, where one parties is screaming the other is hushing him down, "please please we are in this together we are friends" flailing hands and all, then the angry party calms down and the instigator's voice begins to rise and around and around they go until they settle on whatever it is a bushel of dates or a sack of tea that is causing all of this. All today electronically in real time over the internet.

I don't want to read 30 pages of replies, but can someone give me a quick update on this company? Are they doing as they promised?

I don't want to read 30 pages of replies, but can someone give me a quick update on this company? Are they doing as they promised?
* Failed to provide credit card payment methods as promised (lasted 4 days before it was revoked for suspicion reasons) * Refuses to provide trasnparency, as promised * Failed their planned shipping date and their "worst case" shipping date * Still has no physical product, only theories * Failed first tape-out * Refuses to provide customer service * Claims that they are on track for shipping date #3, sometime at the end of September * Wants folks to buy more miners and pay more money * Hasn't made progress in accessory hardware design since March/April * They don't even have a metal case to put the equipment in. Plain sheet metal. They don't have it. I mean, I could go on, but that's the honest summary right now.

I hope the people who preordered from them get refunds/product soon.

The current version of their T&Cs clearly sets the groundwork for clawing back the 50/250mhs promises. We guarantee that on delivery and for at least the duration of the warranty period the products will comply with the specification set out on their product page, including (if used properly) achieving at least the specified hashrate (18 Mh/s or 90 Mh/s as appropriate).
So the spec says 50/250 but the T&Cs say 18/90. The T&C also say: "Be advised that due to the nature of their development our products are subject to change and the final device may be different to what was advertised to you whether on our site or elsewhere."
And finally, the biggest out of all: We hope shipping will start in the second or third quarter of 2014.
But hey, you can have 30% if you'd just all shut up and send us your money !

Yup, their new T&C definitely point to the likelihood that the systems will be lower spec than they'd hoped--but who knows, maybe they'll be faster.. right?
As was pointed out awhile back, for them to reach the claimed 10-fold increase in speed, they'd need more chips than they likely ordered, and of course supplimentary hardware. It makes sense they're dialing back the expectations, and have been really hush the last few weeks on hashrate. Afterall, throwing more chips at something doesn't help if there's no gear to support them.

I just posted this on the Alpha Forum... But I don't think it will last there long, so I am posting it here...
Alpha, you ask us to trust you, yet every time I turn around, something negative shows up. I'm speaking of the customers INVOICE. I ask EVERYONE to look at your INVOICE. Alpha lists everyone's DEPOSIT, NOT as a deposit , but as an " ORDER DISCOUNT". When it comes TAX time, just try listing an " ORDER DISCOUNT" as an expense. I's sure that Alpha has some screwed up reason for listing a " DEPOSIT " as an "ORDER DISCOUNT" , but I don't believe it is in the best interest of the customer. ( Maybe it's because you can't REFUND a DISOUNT.) If you are going to take my money... At least let me be able to deduct it from my Taxes . Call a DEPOSIT, a DEPOSIT.
These people are lying sacks of - They tell lies to distract us while the whole time they are planning to steal from us. That is what defines a scam. They knew that they were not going to meet any of the shipping deadlines and they didn't just find out about it either, they knew! These sneaky pirates absolutely knew they weren't going to ship or even close to having a product, yet they requested the final payment right away giving the impression that we were ready to rock and roll! When people were hesitant because things were not adding up, Alpha put the pressure lies to work - "Those that don't pay in the 2 week period will lose everything". Anyone on the forum saying "wait a minute here" were banned. It was the credit card companies that saved us (thank Searing and others for that). When the credit card companies slammed on the breaks the lies started coming out of the woodwork. Alpha banned me from their site for asking legit customer questions. Banning was their way to keep the lies from being questioned. That was a very well written and carefully worded "manifesto" Alpha just emailed but I'm not going to fall for the old banana in the tailpipe trick again. I will never visit their forum again. They are going to have to send me official email that I can hold them to. I don't care what they have to say on their forum, they talk out of both sides of their mouth and writing as several different users. That's what sneaks do. The first thing a liar does is try to convince you he's not lying. And the goal of a thief.... well Alpha, I will not turn my back on you again. Alpha has re-worded their documents carefully. When it suits them they change words. They see some benefit to themselves by wording the down payment that way on their site. Can you write the 30% loss off as a hobbyist or would you have to own a business to get the write off? I'm just a hobbyist. I paid 30% by bank wire - £ 2040. I have requested a refund but got the same standard reply as everyone else. -M

For some reason, this company interprets any sort of call for critical review as being "mean to them." Here is the perfect spokesman for the current state of affairs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCpwd0ARx6Q

Yep, they are back at deleting anything critical. It really pisses me off how they keep screaming at the top of their lungs they are ethical and transparent. If you have to insist you are ethical... you're just in denial.

I, as a paying customer, was banned yet again. So much for ethics and transparency. I guess I shouldn't point out they were not transparent nor ethical, when they clearly knew at the point in time when they were collecting the 70% final payment there was 0 chance of a July delivery.

I can't see how anyone can trust Alpha. It's obvious they knew about the problem months ago. If they only found out recently, where all all the finished enclosures, stacks of PCBs and boxes of PSUs? They should be sitting in a manufacturing facility somewhere waiting for the chips, to SHIP IN JULY. However you slice it Alpha are playing you. They have been caught in lie after lie, but like an abusive husband keep repeating the same mantras, "this is for your own good", "you should be lucky to have me", "no one else would treat you this good", "I don't WANT to punish you but you leave me no choice" oh and the final insult "if you're going to accuse me of something, YOU need to prove it" Quote from: wakirksey on Today at 06:57:49 AM They are only offering us customers shares in the company in a vain attempt to save the company from bankruptcy and unless they are willing to make major changes in their policies and there Terms of Acceptance then this company is doomed.
Fiaz Malik Administrator « Reply #49 on: Today at 11:55:08 AM » Re: An Opportunity For Miners to Become An Integral Part of Alpha Technology Prove this ridiculous statement and if you can't you've said you've piece leave it at that. « Last Edit: Today at 12:06:39 PM by Fiaz Malik »
Ok Alpha give us the info and we WILL prove it. Fiaz has said you will not get access to any company information until AFTER you vote on this proposal. What use is that? How can customers be expected to make an informed decision? With the tissue of lies Alpha have offered in the past you are now just supposed to take their word that everything is fine and you are all going to make millions? And now Fiaz is once again re-writing history, playing with the truth and outright lying. Fiaz Malik Administrator Re: An Opportunity For Miners to Become An Integral Part of Alpha Technology
« Reply #51 on: Today at 12:03:56 PM » As far as the terms questions go if you want to get technical:
1: Payment methods only referred to the deposit technically. LIE. From Alpha's T&Cs: Deposit payment and final payment can be paid through different payment options, e.g. deposit can be paid with Bitcoins, and end payment with Bank Transfer 2: As we are asking for payment now and ship in September we are asking for payment 8-10 before shipment technically. LIE They first asked for payment 22nd of May, 10 weeks ago TODAY. If they do not ship TODAY they are in breach of their T&Cs
But this is besides the point, we are a company that provides goodwill to our customers this is just a fact. LIE A fact is something you can prove, Alpha have proven nothing apart from the FACT that they are liars If we were a 'technical' company we would have retired at 90Mh/s and final payment and you all would have been left out to dry: fact. TRUE But you would have gone bankrupt so lets not pretend you were being generous here.
Setting aside the MASSIVE technical challenges of what Alpha are proposing. If they are not willing to stop lying and be ABSOLUTELY TRANSPARENT, I cannot see how any customer can take them seriously. Without highly detailed and possibly sensitive information, the sort of thing any private investor would require as part of standard due diligence, this is just another "TRUST US, EVERYTHING'S A-OKAY" from Alpha. And those have worked out so well in the past

Yeah I saw this post of yours disappear. n8091977 Customer Re: An Opportunity For Miners to Become An Integral Part of Alpha Technology
« Reply #79 on: Today at 03:25:13 PM » I got banned from the forums 3 days ago for daring to discuss some of the issues below, just 1 post, no warning, just straight ban...........
I am sorry but nothing has changed from last week in my opinion. There is no tangible development update / prototype, there is no way to pay by credit cards as the card issuers are nervous (which means no consumer protection) and there is now a new promise of some shares (perhaps something of something or something of nothing).
If you wish to talk terms, then AT should deliver the original miners 5 /25 with LCD, wifi, rack mountable with PSU installed ASAP (there is still a nice picture on the website of a Viper and we all know it is not going to look anything like that now). As we all know this is not possible, then refunds should be available immediately. If refunds were to be offered this may bring some confidence back to the CUSTOMERS who are nervous about the whole thing - the very fact that AT had the confidence in itself to offer refunds would mean they believed that they can deliver. I am sorry but ignoring UK Distance Selling laws and trying to label Consumers as a Business is the biggest issue for me, changing T&C's after the event.
I hope AT will see sense with this situation, having the courage to stand behind their decisions and offer refunds may have the opposite effect to what they think - as in people may stay with them for that trust.
Either way, good luck to everyone including AT. I sincerely hope it works out and that I am making the wrong decision by wanting out.
I figured it wouldn't take long for the ban hammer to come out

one more thing nowadays if you order/buy a article at a shop/company and paid a deposit and after delivery date you're asking for the product that of course isn't at stock at the time of asking kindly opt to become a stakeholder till they deliver or beyond.
that alpha offer made my day for live! regards from miner/buyer to shareholder what a joke regards
