i think it mostly happens for projects that haven't a good marketing team and projects that gives high bonuses in presale stages without a locking period
In most ICOs big whales buying from presales as a team or groups of investors with big bonuses and Waiting till listing them into exchanges and put big sell orders little bit higher than last ico price with their high bonuses even it's profitable to them when weak hands see this big sell orders they put sell orders with very low profits like 1%-5%
Then panic sellers getting start sell under ICO price it makes bearish.the big investors that swap from the high prices could buy them again under the ICO price.even situations like this strong hands and smart experienced investors get survive.

ICOs are increasing today unlike before where only few ICO so people can invest their money on limited number and they can raise a good amount
of money. Actually the softcap nowadays are getting lower because of the competition but the real success of the ICO does not
only depend on the amount collected, even if they only reach the softcap but they work hard, there is a big potential of success.

Its right some ico are make x5 or more after ico and its good to search and most coins now are in down so i think if investor want to invest maybe they wait for a long term. Some investor are have no patience they sell their coins even the price is falling.

i estimating, coinmarket will begin to recover as May or June .you are absolutely right, we have to wait.  patience is the greatest virtue. It does not make sense to sell at a low price.

Yeah like when you know that you're already losing, better not to cut loss now because it hurts more than you know. Personally, almost some of my coins that came from ico are all negative and it's quite frustrating when you think what you've loss but then again I just clear my mind and buy more! In the end of the day I'm keeping my hopes too high for this, again!

I am examining many ico.
when they enter the stock market they fall further down the ico price.
no matter how good the project is,
I think that if there is a high distribution of airdrops and bounty deployments,  this is always the case.. :S and if they take this precaution, less deployments may be better for the future of the project. am I wrong?

I do believed that most of the altcoins who got their price dumped, I am very sure when Bitcoin starts to go up again most of the top altcoins will also get pump like what will happen to bitcoin. But for now it is like a volcano sleeping yet and near to explode at any moment.

Indeed, the present situation of the digital market is the whole reason behind ICOs not showing the same potential and progress they used in last year but we all know that the market is not going to remain this way forever. We have only stepped into the fourth month of this year. All the crypto coins would be gaining value. It is a way too early to judge anything about ICOs.

This is not even about judging nor identifying scam presently, the truth is that presently I would say the whole market has been seriously affected with the way things have been generally and it is affecting everything. If this happens like this, I think the best thing is to just get more once the price goes down lower than the ICO price, as one way or the other you will still be winning a lot from the whole thing anyway in the long run.

I mean there should be some regulations at least in this forum level so that people and their contribution may remain secured. Some study finds out only 8% of ICOs keep their word and projects and others are leaving of their project in the middle for various reasons which may be including intentional drop-out too.

We are all hoping that would happen because if not we could dump more and it will get worse.

Well, fundermental of ICO is still the same but the market that support ICO such as ethereum and bitcoin  is what is low right now. ICO has become part and parcel of funding economic and very important part of cryptocurrency as well.

There are many ICOs rising in 2018, thats why its hard to pick the right or good ICO. We have to inspect it first before joining.

This is truth but there are some that has done well in the market after the lunch. There is going to be a lot of things that are going to happen that will show people the reality and the nature of cryptocurrencies. Buying after the ico when a project is llunch into the market is far better.

ICOs are speculation on top of more speculation. For now we're fully speculationed out. This year will prove with ease that almost all ICOs that came before are worthless and will fail, or more likely not even get as far as failing and simply disappear. The interest in them is going to dry up.

It's just the same as the Bitcoin forks. People can't leave what look like a good thing alone. They hammer and hammer until the idea is stone dead. Then it takes a new generation of buyers/victims to revive it.

I've never put a single penny into any ICO. I'm certainly not starting now. It's a fundamentally fucked up idea. If it's any good then I'll buy it after it's been established on an open market for months. I'm not going to fund someone's one afternoon of writing a website page and plagarising a whitepaper.

With this i have discovered its better not to invest in an ICO but wait for the launch and the DIP to buy it at the corrected prices made by market forces.
Its just too hard to tell the real or recommended value of a token in an ICO these days.

I think the ICO in 2018 will not be as successful as 2017. Do you find that the market is in a crisis when bitcoin and altcoin girls are continuously falling for days. ICO is not profitable like before i strongly do not recommend to invest in ICO now because you will loss your profit as well . Better to wait next big pump ICO and invest there.

the year just started, but its def not the same. there are a lot of icos coming out this year , more than 40 a day.
but at the same there seems to be more money invested in icos, just looking at the telegram ico #ton, and the amounts of money that has been raised this year.
BUT there were still 2018 icos that were succesfull, and with coins that have gone up.
Basically do your homework, pick the ico that has the right team, skip the ones with multiple red flags, weed out the trash, and go for the winner!

The reason is that because the price of BTC is low, ICO is affected a lot. ICO can not make much of the same profit as 2017. So by 2018 we will have to choose very carefully the ICO

If I remember correctly, in 2017 I invested more than 10 ICO projects. And I have a lot of money from these ICOs. But in early 2018 I have invested in the ICO COPYTRACK and ATFS projects. I had a loss of capital

indeed some people are lost their money because buy ICO coins with too high and if those coin are being listed at the exchange then the price of those coins were below at the ICO price and maybe buy coin during ICO are risky now but i don't think all of ICO coins are bad such as that and in my view if you're discover good ICO project then i'm pretty sure you still able to get profit from that
