Criteria of a good gambler

In my opinion to be a good gambler you must be:

1- Brave, to risk significant sums of money when you feel that victory is very likely. that way yu can earn a lot of money.
2- Mistrustful and can control his greed, so as not to waste money, and know how and when to risk them.

However, the most important thing is how to balance these two totally different characters and here comes the complexity of gambling.

I guess that a good gambler also has a strategy that he follows strictly , and that he has developed a way to control himself and his spending habits in order to limit the losses . A good gambler will be someone that doesn't let greed take over because that's very destructive if it gets the control .. A good gambler should always know whether the money he'll be placing on his hobby is dispensable or not , because anyone who risks money he can't loose is someone that lacks responsibility , common sense and wisdom ..
And on top of all , a good gambler knows where to quit and call it a day , because many fail to do so and end up loosing it all in a single night ..

Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus

Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge

a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble

a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the  casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler

yes it is true, it's all some very good criteria for a gambler, but the name of the gamble is not good, even though we have the criteria mentioned above, the views of others for each gambler is not very good, yes I think it is.

If you developed the right way to manage your funds, I think that would go a long way especially when you are talking about gambling. It's definitely a lot to process if you manage to spend so much time to gamble and not prepare for it. It's better to prepare for the worst so that when that time comes, it's going to be a piece of cake.

I agree that emotion is what makes us very vulnerable to lashing out or being out of control of something. Even in just playing games, we experience that when we have a teammate who is really not compatible with the team. It's just annoying like that and that's how you lose control. I think we should be controlled in a way like that.

Why people keep gambling although luck can't help them, although they will loss eventually ?
Greed makes people to seek more than their limit , sometimes greed control their mind to keep gambling although they have risk everything !

I believe this too. There is no concept of right and expert or you can say a good gambler. The reason behind this is simple. People who have been in this field since long times, they are advising others now to quit it as soon as possible because it is just killing you. Nobody can ever get benefit from gambling. And just research out if you don’t believe this, you will never find a happier person through gambling.

I don’t think strategy works in that sophisticated environment. Gambling is all about the luck and if you don’t have luck at that particular day, believe me you are just going to lose. So better is to be lucky every day or just leave this game because you will definitely be meeting big bigger losses every day. That is the reason behind the advices of people who are considered as an expert gamblers to quit gambling as soon as possible.

It is silly to set and criterion to judge whether a person is a good gambler or not. A good gambler could never exist simply due to reason that gambling is entirely dependent upon the luck of an individual and we all have to face hardships in these backgrounds at some time or the other. I dont know why you are not able to understand what I said in the post I quoted. But I will make it even simpler. Being good or bad depends on what is good or what is bad. If we talk about being good in gambling - then its a bluff because in gambling long term profit is negative. Being a good person is different.

A person can be a good human being but a gambler at the same time. The latter does not make the person a bad human being unless their gambling habits take over their better half.

There’s no criterion of a good gambler as far as my knowledge is concerned. If the person remains patient, he would easily become a good gambler because gambling requires a lot of patience. People who are impatient can never become a good gambler because in gambling, not every time the person wins when he plays and the impatient one can never survive in these situations and most probably would die.

And I think the root of all of these is that when one person becomes greedy, all of the criteria you’ve mentioned will be done the opposite, because most gamblers are doing what they are doing because of money.

We cannot be perfect for everything and in my opinion people who have the knowledge to become better in gambling has those criteria. It's all about the emotion of the person and how he or she will react when they win or lose in a gambling situation.

Thank you for sharing this, actually I take as advice since you wrote a very nice post about a good gambler. On how to become a good gambler. This is really helpful to all gamblers that they should think about it while they are playing gambling.

These are good advices but not all gambler can do it. Well, your number one criteria is good but you cannot take from gamblers’ mind that they want to win and the truth that no gambler wants to lose make it difficult to have this kind of criteria.

Well said. I think over time a gambler is playing the kind of game will come to develop strategy based on his experience over time. He has to change his approach everytime if the same approach does not work. Try and try until you get the right technique.
