Profit might be the first reason why people gamble, but a good gambler never attached to the profit, the most important thing in gambling is excitement and fun experience, having profit is just the bonus

a good gambler able to control himself / herself
Self controlling is very important in gambling, without a clear mind there will be a lot of mistakes in betting and even causing reckless betting and losing all of the money in split second

a good gambler know when to stop
Setting a limit is very important in gambling, setting a lost limit will prevent you to over spend your money and setting a win limit is  also important because in the long run the house got a bigger chance to win due to the house edge

a good gambler never cause any problem to the surrounding
A good gambler know that the chances of losing money in gambling is huge, so a gambler should never used daily needs money or borrowing money to gamble, and a gambler should never think of robbery or stealing to gamble

a good gambler can accept lost
When losing a good gambler won't blame the surrounding, cursing or accusing the  casino as fraud places, losing is the half part of gambling, if you can't accept lost then dont start to gamble

a good gambler should able to manage the time
A good gambler know how to split the time for family, for friends and for gambling, a good gambler never neglected family or friend just because of gambling

We must encourage people to become a good gambler, so people won't always have a bad judgement about gambler

From all of the things that you have said because about the criteria of a good gambler is all true. Nowadays, mostly people who gambles don't have any of these criteria or behavior of a good gambler because they started to become greedy and don't have any self control to earn money in gambling, that is why they end up addicted in gambling and bankrupt. I totally agree on the list. However, it seems that there are only a few gamblers that would fit thay criteria. Once you start gambling it is really difficult to stop especially if you started playing with a win and lost half way of gambling. Everything falls on your discipline and mind-setting as a gambler.

Sure you wont go bankrupt just because you have self control  but the problem is that how can you win if you dont have a luck ?  aside from luck you will also need to have an adequate amount of capital to be able to profit from gambling  . see ?  There were other important traits that one must have not just self control alone  . if you have posses all of that , that is also the time that you can call your self as a good gambler  .

In short, it is starting to our selves how to manage it. It is a debatable theme, if gambler only looks for fun then there are tons of alternatives for getting it instead of wasting time, money in the gambling sites. Maximum profit depends on the gambling ability, skills of a gambler but luck factor is managing all this together. Excitement is a big lie, in my opinion.IIRC, almost half of gamblers are looking for profit and nothing else, to be honest.
